This is besides the point. The fact of the matter is we were discussing how Akira's memory on Dragonball and his constant inconsistencies were the problem. Not what was stated as fact. Goku suffering a wound from a laser gun, but then being able to tank a universal busting attack is a plain inconsistency.

That kinda reminds me of Bayonetta. She could use bullet time and her reaction times were insane, but she still got punted by some low level beings.

If there was evidence showing Frieza didn't actually take over half the galaxy, yeah, it'd be suspect. But everything consistently shows that he probably did.

On the otherhand, Broly's powerlevel is pretty inconsistent, so claiming he "blows up galaxies" when he loses to the Fantastic Four with a wooden gun makes me think, "Maybe Broly is exactly as strong as the narrative dictates." Narratively, he blows up a bunch of galaxies off screen to make him look scary and evil. On screen, he's just the next threat. How many times does Goku struggle in Tournament of Power against characters who should be nothing to him? Jiren probably could have cleared the whole tournament in a minute if he tried. But the narrative dictates otherwise.

Saitama is just strong enough for any situation.
Goku is just weak enough for anyone who he wants to fight.
If Goku fought enemies Saitama one-shot, Goku would have a semi-serious fight just like he does in Tournament of Power.

Goku is a character who constantly runs into his limits and has to break them. That's the story. So, we as the audience know roughly how strong Goku is.
Saitama is a character who never runs into (doesn't have?) his limits. We as the audience have no idea what his cap is.
Comparing feats to feats is ridiculous. The two stories have different scales, the characters have different goals, there's no fair basis for comparison. The only way to compare them is narratively and narratively Saitama would probably destroy Goku.

Also, I really disagree that OPM is "just a gag manga." It's a lot of things. It's much less pure gag manga than Kinnikuman or Dr Slump. Most of the characters besides Saitama have consistent power levels, far more so than DBZ/DBS. Saitama has fought Frieza stand-ins Cell analogues, world enders, and pseudo-gods. The narrative of his world almost explicitly says, "Saitama is stronger than Goku, look how silly DBZ is." When Goku beats Zeno in a fight we can drag this stupid topic back up.

Don't need to deal with keeping canon consistent, easier to explain away things that break canon. It's easier to go back in time and fuck up the future than go forward and keep all of history accurate.

Well it's about damn time. People can blame everything on Chibnall and the writing all they want, but she did absolutely nothing memorable. There was nothing worth watching for with her acting. People can say she is so great in all this other stuff, but that means nothing to me when she sucks in Doctor Who.

Ironically the one episode I actually somewhat liked the most from this era is one that I think most everyone else hates.

Sorry, sometimes a few people fuck it up for everyone else. And sometimes a few people is more like 50% of them. I work in the public and see about 1000 people a day, maybe 1-2% of them who aren't working wear masks. Since only 48% of Florida is vaccinated, there's no way those anti-vaxxers are wearing masks. And they're the same assholes who will get wayyyyy too close to your face, cough everywhere, touch stuff, etc.

I think it's an all or nothing situation. If you can't enforce vaccine policy, you need to enforce masks. Being mask free was meant as an incentive to the vaccinated, but without a way to check anti-vaxxers just go around spreading covid - and they sure do. It's not hard to wear a mask for a few hours a day, you wear pants more than you wear a mask. It's time for mask mandates to come back.

Ugh, I meant the hyperbolic negativity most other YouTube reviewers employ, the hypersensitive nitpickery is what the channel is a parody of. There are numerous times the channel outright tells you exactly how serious you should take the things you see and hear within, but even if one were to take everything 100% seriously people that are still trying to criticize what are already just subjective points as if you can somehow prove them objectively wrong are not well...

It's not satire to just be wrong about something.
If I said, "cats actually evolved from dogs," that's not satire, that's just an incorrect statement. And if I repeatedly made the same mistake over hundreds of videos, it would be even less likely to be satire.
I had to look this up, but saying, I Robot spoilers: "Why do the robots in I Robot turn red when they turn evil?" Isn't a subjective criticism. There's a plot reason that's explained in the movie, they just missed it. They very rarely make subjective points, they usually try to point out plot holes. The problem is is that often those plot holes aren't there, they are just digging them up to present to their audience for clicks.
What they're doing Isn't satire. There no allusion to other reviewers. The hyper negative review style rode off their coattails, not the other way around. What they're doing is really shitty reviews with loud noises and clickbait that attract an uncritical audience. It's Fox news, or America's Got Talent, or The Big Bang Theory for youtubing Gen X'ers and millenials.

Which one? I don't know any other youtube reviewer, especially pre-CinemaSins, that reviews like that. And so the satire is just the same thing literally hundreds of times, "Look at how shitty these other reviewers are lol DING!"?
It doesn't make sense. Why are they pretending to show real critiques about movies when they're satirizing reviewers. They're not, they're just claiming satire as a weak defense when their criticisms are blatantly wrong. If anything they purposefully throw in wrong information to generate buzz and clicks, but that's just shitty behavior.
