yea but again, there is no evidence. I saw an entire hour long special on this guy, and they never produced any actual proof that he did it. it was just a bunch of speculation

What you saw was probably a publicity piece put together to garner sympathy for him. It almost certainly wasn't an unbiased portrayal of the facts but a skewed version that left out anything that didn't fit the narrative they were trying to put out. That's how documentaries generally work these days. They are rarely unbiased anymore. They have a purpose and that is to convince you to see things their way. They don't flat out lie but don't tell the whole truth either.

Bugmeat

You can't watch all of them at the same time. They don't just pack one room and move on to the next one. The crew is packing multiple rooms at once. Pack anything that is important to you before hand and make sure you have the extra insurance. Shit will be damage when it arrives. It always is. When I was a kid my dad got transfered to a new city every so often and each time Halliburton paid for the movers. They always broke and damaged stuff, no matter how closely my mother tried to supervise them.

But shit always got damaged or broken when we moved ourselves too. At least when a company does it you have someone else to blame and get some reimbursement for the damage.

SunWuKung420 posted...

Most moving companies tell professional, busy people that their belongings will be packed with care and organization, then don't.

Yep. Because the people packing are just schlubs that can't get a better job. They don't care about your crap. They just want to get the job done and they know the company has made allowances for a certain amount of expected damage.

A nuclear apocalypse scenario is less about the direct blast damage and more about the long term indirect efdects on of hundreds (possibly thousands) of nuclear blasts going off around the world. Such as massive amounts radioactive ash and debris being thrown into the atmosphere. Massive firestorms that would devastate countryside because there are just too many wildfires for us to effectively fight. Large areas affected by EMP blasts. Radiation sickness. Etc.

Good luck shooting down something in space that casts a ray capable of incinerating anything it's looking at. You'd have to go into orbit and come at it that way, in all likelihood, especially if they had additional ones. Why nobody has done this yet is beyond me.

Because it's not something that could be quickly done without the rest of the world noticing long before you were able to complete it. The rest of the world isn't going to sit by and allow its slow construction while you violate international treaties that directly ban space based weapons of mass destruction.

The you have all of the hurdles of actually building and maintaining something like that.

See, all of that just makes it look like you aren't into girls (or guys, not sure which you happen to be) Which only serves to support the idea thay she's convinced you're gay and just trying help you feel comfortable and to know that you'll still be loved if you just come clean so you can be happy and just be who you already are.

A whale, in the context of gaming, is a unique type of gamer who will spend significant amounts of money on ingame cash shops and/or microtransactions. These features don't usually make the publisher any significant amounts of revenue from the regular player base, with the median player spending around $5~10, "whales" account for more than half of a game's cash shop revenue.

As such, "whaling" is considered to be the goal of cash shop design.

seriously?

why are they called whales? why is it called whaling? that seems such an odd term

People just like to use fishing terms to refer to stuff. You can work hard and long to catch a whole lof little fish to fill your boat. But if you catch just a few whales you've hit the jackpot and they make up for all those little fish that you couldn't catch. Speaking of jackpots... the gambling industry loves to use the whale/little fish terms to refer to their suckers.

Bugmeat
11/30/17 7:04:06 PM

Typically whenever I think about it once it's below 1/4. But I generally only think about it when my car reminds me.

As for clogging the injectors or what not if the fuel level gets low. The pump often (not always) sits inside the tank at the bottom so if it's going to pull up stuff like that it will do it even if you have a full tank. Bumps in the road and what not would slosh the fuel around and stir up any crud in the tank anyway. But it has a fine mesh around the pump to help stop impurities from being sucked in and there's also a filter further down the line for anything finer that gets through.

The biggest issue with running your tank dry is that it can shorten the life of the pump since it relies on the fuel as a lubricant a and a coolant. Doing it often can negatively impact the life of the pump. Generally if a pump is intended for liquid it shouldn't be run dry.
