Yeah cause the service will need to start when that first print job is requested. There's always services I need to disable or turn manual when I first install Windows on a box.

So no offense dude but this looks like it's chock-full of malware. Also if what the other guy said is true there's no point.

It's not. I've used it in enterprise environments for over 8 years and personally for 12. But yes, if my info about reg keys slowing down the system is incorrect then CCleaner isn't needed for your purpose.

New thought: You've already cleaned up the start up programs but what about the Services? Going to services.msc will open up the menu listing all the services that run on your computer. See how many have the Startup Type set to Automatic. These will start when the computer boots. Manual means that they will only start when a program calls them.

Example: The print spooler is set to Automatic. If you don't printer from your computer, then there's no need to have it running all the time.

Probably. Still, performance hindrance or not, no reason not to clean it up I guess. Ccleaner has an excellence free version so w/e.

This isn't a defrag. Ccleaner cleans up System temp/log files and also cleans unused Reg keys. The larger the Registry is, the longer it takes for the OS to locate the proper Reg keys it needs.

Use Ccleaner to run the Registry cleaner on your machine. It'll clean up a ton of non-functioning/left over Registry keys which will help the OS's speed. While you're there, run the standard cleaner function to free up some disk space.

Its not the fact that it's hand holding. It's the heavy hand holding that doesn't let you speed through the dialog. They take two paragraphs to say something that could be done in two sentences. Since you can't skip through the slow paced dialog, you're left annoyed. "Yes you said I should check out this village. Why are you still talking about it for another 3 minutes?"

Yeah thats definitely a contributor. Hints are fine but should not be the default level of ham fistedness here but rather an option you can seek out.

Yeah. Besides all the wasted time used for dialog, it's a phenomenal game. Literally my only complaint with the game.

Life ends at age 27.

Prior to age 27, you will have what is considered a "life", which will be active social & romantic interactions, a diverse set of interests, and a lifestyle that is unique to you.

Past age 27, your "life" will now be a series of interconnected actions designed to prevent you from dying or suffering from abject poverty/loneliness.

Why 27? Is that because that's the age you got married?

I need to start doing this. Where do you set up your notifications? Outlook?

I also have a setup that doesn't lend itself to getting up often. I don't have a dedicated room for my office yet so when I work from home, I'm in the bed with 3 dogs curled up on/around me. Takes a lot to get in a comfortable spot that appeases both them and myself so I never want to get up and disrupt them.

It's alarmingly easy to work more than I should from home because it's just so convenient. If I think about something for work during dinner, I can just go take care of it shortly after that.

I have to keep my laptop in my backpack to keep myself from doing that.

Working from home also throws my meal schedule all off. I forget to take a break and go eat something.

These days a 40 year old man is the most attractive thing on the planet, and if I take care of myself I can be one of those 50 year old dudes that dresses awesome and pounds early 20's women on the reg.

Shit sounds awesome fam.

Lmao at 40 you look too old to go to a nightclub or the like. You will get female attention, just not that of the hot 22 to 28 year old girls, at least not in America. Get ready for flabby bodies!

Which is why when you're 40 you go to high class whisky bars and cigar lounges and other cool shit.

Sounds like you just don't understand the game my man

Exactly. That air of sophistication that comes from being a grey fox will make all the women fall at your feet. There are pros and cons of different decades of your life. You're focusing too much on the pros of being in your 20s and the cons of everything after.

Incredible game. It's a bit slow at times and it's not for everyone. But for those that can stomach it, it's one of the best adventure games I have ever played and the world is still one of the best that I have ever seen. Everyone, including NPCs, have their own schedules and do their own things and there is something new to see every playthrough. There aren't too many worlds in video games that feel alive as much as the one in Shenmue 1 does, not even Shenmue 2.

Shame most people who missed out on it won't give it chance because they were told by Giant Bomb to not play it.

This. The attention to detail has always blown me away. One of the few times I actually felt like I was walking around a living, breathing town/city.

Also got addicted to those damn capsule toys. lol
