I can't vote.

Thunderdome might be the only one I've watched in one sitting or even the entirety of. The first half (up until he gets exiled, or whatever, from the town) was ok, but the last half was just wtf. It's like they mashed together two different movies.

I do find it hilarious that they felt the need to do an English dub of the first one.

From the article:

"The Trump administration ordered hospitals to bypass the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and send all COVID-19 patient information to a central database in Washington, starting Wednesday, according to a Health and Human Services document updated July 10.

Michael Caputo, HHS assistant secretary for public affairs, said in a statement the new coronavirus data collection system would be faster, and the CDC has a one-week lag in reporting hospital data."

Today, the CDC still provides data from only 85 percent of hospitals; the Presidents COVID response requires 100 percent to report.

"The CDC, an operating division of HHS, will certainly participate in this streamlined all-of-government response. They will simply no longer control it."

"Weve merely streamlined data collection for hospitals on the front lines," he stressed. "No one is taking access or data away from CDC."

I'm not seeing a problem here.

I have not. I'll probably look into the Trails games if I like this, but right now, the price doesn't justify a blind purchase.

Xanadu is a different series than Legend of Heroes, it's more of an action game than an RPG. I haven't played any of those..

Apparently, the franchise branched off into two directions. I have Legend of Xanadu I & II (both PCECD imports) and Faxanadu. I'm keeping an eye out for Legacy of the Wizard (NES) and I might import Dragon Slayer: Legend of Heroes II (PCECD).

The Switch version of Phantasy Star is preferred since it made some QOL changes (less random encounters, more EXP / Meseta, easy to access lists explaining stuff like spell effects, weapon effects, etc, a auto map feature in dungeons), but I voted for that. Kingdom Hearts is awesome though, and I hope you play it someday.

I don't own a Switch, and have no plans to. I'll need to finally buy a 2nd PS3 controller in order to unlock it, since apparently you have to beat the first boss in one of the Sonic games in 2-player mode.

Most games chosen by the Backloggery Fortune Cookie.

Just beat Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (GCN) -- 7/10 Took me just under 81 hrs. I found all the star pieces and got all the recipes. I was just missing a couple badges and didn't clear the Pit of 100 Trials (I made it to level 90).

Outside of Chapters 3 and 6, and the beginning of 7 where you have to chase General White around, I really enjoyed this. I found those 3 spots to be extremely tedious. While optional, I also found the Pit of 100 Trials to be very tedious, since, unless you luck into a bunch of the creature that you can pay to skip some levels, you have to spend a lot of time fighting battles that are a cakewalk to make it back to where you last left off if you decide to leave (it does get pretty tough in the second half), as the badge that lets you auto-win those battles doesn't work. You're going to need a few hours available if you do want to try to tackle the Pit. The Bowser segments initially had me chuckling, but they wore thin pretty quickly. The Princess Peach segments also had a short stay in the entertaining realm. Did they really think people would have fun having someone say "I love you" literally 100 times? I also shook my head when I decided to see what the wrong option leading into the end battle and it actually gave me a Game Over, requiring me to sit through the ~5 minute lead-in that is unskippable.

Now that I know that you get absolutely nothing for finding all the star pieces and getting all the recipes, if I ever replay this, I won't try for all of them again.

Looking at the CDC's numbers, I really don't see why there would be. Almost 1/4 of all deaths in the US are in New York City (17,002 of 73,693). That's almost 7 times the entire state of CA (2,485). Also, almost 60% of the deaths are among those at least 75 years old (41,164 of 68,998). The age breakdown is a week behind the breakdown by state. Just looking at the numbers, this seems to me to be more of an issue of highly concentrated population centers and the elderly.

Nah, not absurdly expensive. I bought mine for $150 in 1997 and my PS1 for $130 in 1999 -- I bought the bundle that came with Virtua Fighter 2, Virtua Cop, and Daytona USA, so it was a better value out of the box than the PS1, which came with no games. Unless you never saved any game data, the cost of a memory card (or 3) for the PS1 pretty much immediately ate into that $100 lauch price difference. If you are comparing launch prices, then you'd also have to say the PS1 was absurdly expensive compared to the N64, yet it seemed to fare well in the market against the N64.

Does it really matter to a 4-year-old? Learning how to count to 10 isn't going to change if they watch it now or next year.

I could show a tyke an episode I remember from the '80s where kids were forging signatures on baseballs and selling them. All was going swell until Ron Cey asked for a Ron Cey autographed ball and the tried to sell him one. Would it really matter that the kid watching would have no idea who Ron Cey is (or, really, probably anyone under the age of 35, except for maybe some huge Chicago Cubs fans)?

The poor kids are still at a disadvantage here, considering the wait time.

I wasn't aware that the show's content was so time sensitive.

According to that, the national average for regular (non-E85) is $1.768

Where I'm at is below that.

Not a large roller coaster, but one at Cedar Point that really surprised all of us was the WildCat. IIRC, it was in the section on the park that was like a carnival. It appears they dismantled it about a decade ago.
