There doesn't need to be a video game about any TV show or movie. M*A*S*H does have a premise that is suitable for a video game adaptation. Here's gameplay footage (note that this game was released in 1983):

Why not? M*A*S*H was huge. The game consists of flying your chopper out to pick up the wounded and bring them back to the unit to perform surgery on them.

I just beat Dark Cloud (PS2) -- 7/10. Took me a little over 82 hrs to beat it. I was going to wait to post until I finished the bonus dungeon, Demon Shaft, but I found out it has 100 floors and I'm at around floor 10.

I don't normally like action adventures or ARPGs, but I did like this one. I did like the aspect of rebuilding the towns, although it was quite tedious looking for the little treasure chests that appear after completing dungeon levels or placing town structures. Overall, the game is pretty easy, with the only hard parts I found being the floors that are restricted to only being able to use either Goro or Ungaga and the end boss. And even the end boss only took me a half dozen or so tries. I'd prefer having the characters level up rather than everything, other than finding character-specific items that permanently boost their defense, being tied to weapon stats. Being able to build up weapons to a new form is neat aspect, although I was only able to accomplish this a few times. I can see people not liking the randomly generated dungeons, but I didn't mind it. Thankfully, fishing isn't required for anything -- it ended up just being a good source of funds since the bait is some of the most expensive items in the game.

The things that knock this down from being a great game to me are:
Weapon durability
Thirst meter
Not being able to load a game from in-game, requiring resetting the console to do so
The item needed to access the backfloors of the final dungeon not being in the US release.

I did run into a glitch where the sound effect of an approaching enemy would get stuck playing until you leave the dungeon. I think it happened if you switched characters while it was playing. It was really annoying hearing the loud noise of the Captain's Chariot constantly playing. One time, I had to reset the console to make it stop, since it started playing when I re-entered the dungeon.

Other than, I think, ONE event that only happens at night, is there any point to the day progression? It's a bit annoying to be talking to someone, and during the brief time outside of their dialog menu to choose a different option, it changes to a different time of day, and then you have to search for them because they moved during that transition. Also, is there any point to how many trips into the dungeons you made or the number of days of your adventure?

I just beat The Legend of Zelda (NES CE) -- 7/10. I'll just say I dislike this game and leave it at that.

Dark Cloud came in 2nd place last time, so it gets held over.
I might have to hook up an old CRT to play Missile Defense 3-D, since I've read the glasses don't work with some HDTVs.
If Pac-Man wins, I'll set a realistic challenge score.
I'm not sure if Submarine Commander has an ending. If it doesn't, I'll set a realistic challenge score or goal (I don't know if it's a score-based game).
If Bomb Squad is a 2-player only game, as many Intellivision games are, I'll go with whatever comes in 2nd.

I just beat Lunar: Eternal Blue (SCD) -- 10/10 It took me just under 80 hrs, including the Epilogue. I did a playthrough topic on its game board, which added probably well over 10 hrs.

I hadn't played this since I beat it when I bought it almost 25 years ago. The only negative I can say about it is that there are a lot of pop culture references, but none of them are during important dialog that I can think of. I also don't mind them. People complain about needing to spend Magic Experience to save, but this becomes a non-issue by about the 5 hr mark, as you'll be getting enough to save from a single encounter. And even before that, it only takes a few battles to gain the needed M Exp. They removed the Magic Experience, which allows you to choose which spells you can level up (the ones you don't learn from normally leveling up) from the PS1 remake, which is the main reason why I prefer the Sega CD version. This also means they removed the cost to save, which people complained to them about.

This is definitely among my top 5 JRPGs.

If the Intellivision games are 2-player only, like a lot of Intellivision games are, I'll go with whatever 1-player game has the highest votes.

If Slymoids doesn't have an ending (I have absolutely no clue what this game is about), I'll go for a reasonable challenge score.

I think Pitfall! has an ending, or at least is possible to collect all the treasure within the time limit, so I'll go for that.

I just beat Popful Mail (SCD) -- 10/10 Took me right around 22 hrs. It was the 2nd time I've beaten it and the first time since 1996 when I bought it.

First off, this is NOT an RPG, even though the front cover says it is and GameFAQs classifies it as an ARPG. The only RPG aspects it has is that it shows a couple stats (Attack and Defense rating) and the characters have hit points. There's no experience system, so they don't level up, their attack and defense ratings are completely dependent on the equipment they have equipped, their HP is always 100, and there isn't even any magic or equivalent. It's about as much of an RPG as the original DOOM is. It's a straight up 2D side-scrolling action-adventure.

After playing through this and Lunar: The Silver Star, I decided that I was going to buy every Working Designs release whenever they came out. Playing through Lunar: Eternal Blue a little while later solidified that, and I've almost never been let down. This and Cadash are also why I'm actually looking forward to playing The Adventure of Link, even though I've disliked every Zelda game I've played.

I'm glad this is not an RPG, as it probably would have made the game extremely easy, like every other similar game I've played, with the exception of WD's release of Exile: Wicked Phenomenon. Not leveling up means that you can't just grind your way past bosses. While it is a challenge, outside of a few bosses, the game is not that tough. Only a few bosses took me more than a few tries, and those only took quite a few more because I wanted to preserve Elixirs, which fully restore your HP when you get knocked out and are only sold at the final shop where they are extremely expensive, so you'll likely only have the 6 or so that are to be found throughout the game.

The dialog, or at least WD's translation, is definitely a high point for me, as it had me laughing at quite a few points. It's also worth it to go back to every instance of voice work with each of the three characters, since they'll have different dialogue, with Gaw's being significantly different in many instances. There are a few times where it's obviously meant to have Mail as your active character, as it doesn't make any sense as a response to what Gaw or Tatt says.

Other than the Mythril Golem's boomerangs having a too large hit box where you can get hit by them when they are below the floor, I really can't find anything seriously wrong with the game. I had a lot of fun with it, just like it did 20+ years ago. I'm sure all the outtakes can be watched online, so I'm not going to try to speed through the game to get them as the reward for doing so.

Final Cut of KH1 is much better, higher difficulty helps the game a ton, normal difficulty you can just button mash (final cut had a higher diff then hard (don't think normal version did...but I could be wrong).

Great game but it's also fairly old now.

ARPGs, or at least 3D ARPGs (I've liked the 2D side scrolling ARPGs I've played), are just not for me, so I have no interest in the re-release, regardless of its improvements. I've got KH2 and am not looking forward to playing that.

The two PCEngine CD games are imports, so I'll be using online translators as I go. Daisenryaku is a strategy game and Burai is an RPG, so those are going to be real chores.

I'll also need to translate as I go the YYH MDMini game, which I have no clue what type of game it is.

I'm pretty sure the 2600 games don't have endings, so I'll shoot for an attainable challenge score if either actually wins.

Dodge 'Em has been released under different names on different systems. I also have basically the same game on TI-99/4A, which was released as Car Wars. It also saw a release as part of a crappy homebrew compilation for TG-CD, which I unfortunately spent money on.

I think Pat the NES Punk tried to see if he could inflate the price on a random game by mentioning it on his podcast as a hidden gem or something several years ago, and that game was Reggie Jackson Baseball. I bought it before finding out about that.

Motocross Championship is notoriously bad. I didn't think it was all that bad when I tested out my copy.

I just beat Kingdom Hearts (PS2) -- 5/10 Took me a bit over 46.5 hrs. Beat it on Normal difficulty.

There are very few ARPGs or Action-Adventures that I've liked, and this did not add to that number.

Other than having to fight with the camera in places, and the completely pointless Gummy Ship aspect, there really wasn't anything bad about this game. I just couldn't really find anything good about it. Having characters that look like Disney characters didn't do anything for me (when I think of Goofy, I think of those Goofy Sports short films and the like, and nothing about him in this game encapsulates what I think of when I think of Goofy; and the same idea with Donald Duck). I've never seen about half of the Disney films referenced in this, so those locations and characters had no connection for me. The Final Fantasy characters are from the games I can't stand or haven't played, so again, no positive for me there.

For probably 90% of the game, the battles were basically mashing the attack button. After running around Traverse Town right at the beginning for a couple hours unsuccessfully finding the boss, I resorted to a walkthrough (and found out that I hadn't entered a specific door in the town to trigger an event) and just followed that through to the end. I highly doubt I would have stuck through to the end otherwise. I found several of the doors/openings you have to go through to be almost impossible to spot, being black on a black background, with the only indication being the name of the next area appearing when you're basically on top of them. There was only one boss that gave me any trouble (I didn't do any of the optional bosses at the end since after 2+ months, which included over a month where I had zero desire to continue playing it, I just wanted to get it over with), and that was because it's a one-on-one battle so I had to actually do more than just mash attack with a heal spell thrown in here and there. Maybe Expert difficulty is much different, but I have no desire to try. Thankfully the end boss is extremely easy as the entire battle took me over an hour. Having unskippable cutscenes gets atrocious when there's several minutes of it before boss battles, and you have to sit through it EVERY time if you lose that battle, even after choosing to Continue (I could see it if you choose Load Game, since it would be considered your first time watching it). I understand the re-release made them skippable.

Do people actually enjoy the Gummi Ship space shooter aspect? Except for realizing that I needed to steer around a wormhole to get to one world, after the first couple trips, with the exception of the second trip to the Hollow Bastion where I actually had to avoid a handful of enemies and asteroids, I literally didn't steer and just held down the shoot button and hardly ever took any damage, and no where near enough to where I was in any danger. And that was without ever modifying the ship or building a new one. The only time I spent in the Garage was trying to add Warp Drive, which I gave up on after probably 10 min of not finding the part only to discover that it automatically gets installed.

Another turn off for me is, much like just about every Squaresoft game from this general era (PS1/2) that I've played, their near obsession with mini games. Thankfully, I don't think any of them are necessary to beat the game.

I could go for their chicken cordon bleu sandwich just about any time. Their fish sandwiches are pretty good when they have them.

Why did you start each decade with xxx1?

I'd say the '80s. There are a lot of PC games from that decade that I played a ton and still do to this day.

Didn't the first footage of SM64 that Nintendo put out have Luigi in it? I thought it was general knowledge that he was removed at some point.

He was shocked anybody wanted to go see them play.

Yeah. I'm just glad I was able to go to a game at Olympic -- I ended up going every year for their last 3 years before they got moved.

I wish the team would be remade though as an expansion.

I saw a video a few days ago on youtube where there's apparently a crazy idea getting some traction to have the Rays play half their home games in Tampa/St. Petersburg and half in Montreal.

48, plus DC. I've driven through all of them (well, not technically through Maine since I entered and exited via New Hampshire), so I don't know how well they all fit the OP's condition. I believe I've purchased something in all of them and have the receipts somewhere.

I remember getting an incredulous look from the border guard when he asked why I was entering Canada and responding, "Going to an Expos game."
