Doki Doki Literature Club (PC)

Some people recommended me play this game. I knew nothing about it going in and weeellll..

When it started I was like "why am I playing this game". Then some Life is Strange vibes started to kick in and I felt like there was gonna be a twist coming up. There was definitely a twist. And it took a turn I didn't expect. Really neat game design and the execution was pretty cool.

Heavy Rain (PS4) - Platinum'd

Decided to give Heavy Rain a shot since it was free for PS+ sometime this year. Enjoyed the game a lot actually, and despite the game being almost a decade old, it didn't really feel like an eight year old game aside from the fact that you had to hold R2 to move, which honestly isn't a good interface. The story was pretty good and the characters were alright too. Probably gonna give the other Quantic Dream games a try now.

And with that I've also obtained my 40th platinum trophy, hurray.

God of War (PS4) - Platinum'd

Finally got around to platinumming this game. Overall great game, had a blast playing it and the story was actually really great, especially for a God of War game.

I normally play games on the hardest difficulty and I beat the other games in the series on hard as well so I figuerd I'd start on Give me God of War difficulty. Man that was super tough. Managed to get through the game slowly as I got used to the mechanics, but then Sigrun gave me so much trouble.

Literally one of the hardest encounters I've played. You essentially have to play perfectly for like ten minutes straight and it was so demanding to get the mechanics down. Plus your timings have to be incredible too so it just took me a long time to beat. When I finally got it done.. man that felt good. Enjoyed this game a lot but I'm psyched to not have to play it for a while haha.

That's disgusting. There was a guy I saw who had a promo Ajani and a pack Liliana and I thought that was already pretty gross.

I got the cat warrior that spawns 1/1 lifelinks as my promo. Went 2:2 overall.

Yea it's really hard to directly compare, but it's a great game. I think I enjoyed it more than the rest of the series though just because the narrative is much better and combat is more difficult.

I've seen a few friends on Facebook post about doing this and I always wondered about how you communicated with the people you were teaching without speaking the language. I guess they already have a decent grasp of the basics?

Until I saw my friends doing it, I always assumed you had to be multi-lingual.

A lot of Asian countries don't want you to know the native language because you end up using that to explain things and then the students aren't "immersed" in the language. I have a friend of mine teaching English in South Korea that speaks Korean that would get in trouble sometimes for doing that, so some places just prefer you not to know it.

Most people you teach already know the basics so as long as you speak simply and slowly it should be fine. Gestures and images go a long way too. When I took Korean language classes after the first level the teachers didn't know English anymore so you'd learn Korean in Korean, which forces you to learn much faster.

I lived in Korea as a student for three years and met a bunch of English teachers.

None of them knew any Korean. Even the ones that have been living there for 5+ years and married a Korean and has kids. A few that didn't get married just ended up moving back to the States and got a job in a completely different role. Overall, I would say it's a good experience to be in Korea as an English teacher, but you should be careful about staying too long if you're treating it as a break from the norm.

Nice, I loved this game as well and I'm two trophies away from the platinum myself.

The only two left are killing all the ravens, which shouldn't be too bad with a guide, and beating Sigrun who is completely destroying me on Give Me God of War.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm (PS4) - Platinum'd

I loved Life is Strange so I just had to play Before the Storm too. Wasn't the same as the original but it was still really nice to go back into that world and see some of the characters again.

I also went and played Captain Spirit too, and I'm officially hyped for Life is Strange 2.

So I got 14 Kobalds and Catacomb packs from.. I guess it was the recent Hearthstone championships? Not really sure.

Anyways, thoroughly disappointing pulls. It triggered my pity pack though and I got a Runespear. But at least now if I DE all the cards I have duplicates of I'll have 30k dust, which is kinda nice.

Just threw together a Brawl deck with Muldrotha as my commander. It's probably pretty terrible since I just looked through the random cards I've picked up in prereleases and threw something together, but the format seems interesting and I figure it's good to start something and just improve it over time.

I'm really enjoying this arena event. Not only are the quests really nice but it's a cool change of pace in arena too. Hope they do more stuff like this in the future, or at least play around with these mechanics a bit more.

Anybody know if theres a site that has like a mega list of all the stuff shown at E3 this year? With so many trailers and conferences Im having a little trouble remembering what was shown for some of them like Ubisoft, Bethesda and EA. Of the main 3 Id go:

Microsoft: A was almost all games and was great
Sony: A- start sucked, but games were really great
Nintendo: C-/D+ other than Octopath and FE there wasnt anything I really cared about.

They started doing the whole Gatewatch stuff with Magic Origins and since then the stories have been pretty tightly connected. That could be a good place to start if you wanna catch yourself up with the most recent sets.
