Damn the legendary team up cards in MOM look pretty hype. Some Avengers Endgame stuff going on in this set.

Toxic does seem a lot more fair than infect.

Just came back from prerelease. I made a red/green oil-deck with a splash of black, but the black ended up being pretty useless since I just splashed it for Glissa and I never used her.

The deck worked pretty well. Urabrask's Forge was probably my MVP, if my opponent didn't have any artifact removal then it was just so much insane value. I had a Churning Reservoir out at one point so getting two oil counters on it per turn was nasty. I also had a Thrun which is just incredibly OP, so much value.

Yea the omniscience draft was so dependent on cards that you got. I had one opponent that had a turn one win with an Approach of the Second Sun. Just played it and then card drawn themselves to victory.

There's also the people that get a Peer into the Abyss, also just an instant win if you resolve it.

I had two of those decathalon tokens and was like, it's omniscience draft for the last event, I could just get a final one there right?

Spent like half the day yesterday just grinding drafts. Made it to 5 or 6 wins a couple times but it's so RNG. Decided it just wasn't worth it.

A Short Hike (PS4)

Probably the last game I'll beat this year. I wanted something simple and relaxing and heard that this game fits that exact description. Not much to say, it was nice to play.

Bugsnax (PS5)

So I'm home for the holidays and my PlayStation is unavailable. I figured I could try to Remote Play some games and see how that performs. There's a bit of latency so I ended up playing Bugsnax, a game that is simple enough that I really don't need the fast response times.

The game itself is alright, definitely not a game I would spend money on but since it was free on PS+ at one point I already had it in my library. It's short and charming enough that it was fine I guess.

God of War Ragnarok (PS5)

I loved the 2018 God of War. It was easily a 10/10 for me and so I was incredibly hyped going into Ragnarok. After platinumming Ragnarok, I have to say that the 2018 version was better, but I guess that's expected considering how how that bar is. It feels kinda like Horizon Forbidden West in the sense that it's "more of the same, just expanded". That by itself isn't a bad thing, but it just wasn't as revolutionary as the 2018 version I guess.

That said, Ragnarok was a good game and I does great things with the story and the characters. There were some fantastic story moments and the gameplay is still fun as ever. I'm really curious as to where they take the series from here.

Scars of Mirrodin was my first real MTG set so I am so hyped.

Did prerelease today and between my packs and my promo I opened three rare lands. Feels a bit bad. Didn't think my pool was that good, just didn't have a lot of good creatures or bombs. Ended up going 1-2 with a white, blue, black deck but had a lot of fun.

I think my favourite was the two set blocks. Core sets are whatever to me and the three set blocks felt a bit too stretched out at times. I think two set blocks with a one-off here and there would be a nice balance. The one set stuff going on now just blitzes through everything too quickly and there aren't any official multi-set drafts anymore.

I really enjoyed Hollow Knight but it was more for the combat and setting rather than the platforming elements, I actually liked those the least. I also don't like Ori.

Dunno, I still think plaformers aren't for me but I'd be willing to give them anoher try.

I mean pixel perfect platformers like Celeste are very different from most platformers. Really think they're an entirely different genre. I, for example, love platformers but didn't really love Celeste because I'm not a fan of those types of platformers!

What are some examples of non-pixel perfect platformers?

Celeste is fun enough but I very quickly realized that I just don't really like platformers that much. For one, I'm not super good at them, and it just gets frustrating pretty quickly. I think I might just avoid platformers from now on.

Paying attention to random things is fine. I love the "physical mechanics" where you have to throw a card or keep track of things in real life.

I think the stickers are what kills me the most. Having to flip through them to constantly remind yourself what's on there and to unstick everything between games.

Did a sealed Unfinity event today and made a green black.. something deck. It's a pretty overwhelming set. So much text and just so much stuff.

Lands look great though, opened up two orbital basics. Didn't get a shock though.

It's the damn Reserved List that's the problem. They wont make these cards tournament legal unless they get rid of it, which they wont anytime soon.

It would still sell tons if they priced it lower. The Un sets sell quickly and most of the cards aren't legal either.
