Same for me. After seeing the recent additions to 2 it made me think an HD remake (not just a remaster) would look great. Maybe not make it so cel-shaded though.

Yeah Fiora and Shulk looked great but they're wayyyy too colorful and bright lol. I rather like the faded/toned down color palette.

Also, glad someone else likes 2's gameplay more. I felt the same way. 2's gameplay felt better to me (the combat at least...I think the field skill and gacha systems are bad) but 1 has the better story.

Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey are generally considered the best games on the Switch and they'll both get you a lot of time invested. Xenoblade 2 is another common choice with a ton of content but it's not universally loved and you may not like the battle mechanics.

Other than that, there's Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition, which if you ever played a Dynasty Warriors-type game and liked them, this is a no-brainer and lasts a LONG time as well. Smash Bros. is also coming soon. I'd say go for it if all of these sound interesting. Then you can go for the Wii U ports, Splatoon 2, and some indies.

Burnout? Lack of time? Complicated issues? Could be a number of other things.

Like, I'm fairly sure that DBZA has slowed down because of their gaming channels they started, even though they said it wouldn't affect it.
Also I'd imagine the more you do something, the more you learn and the more you subconsciously strive to make it look more professional. The tiny little details here and there add up a lot. It's what happened with DBZA also, the editor kept using more and more editing tricks to make it look professionally edited together and that sstuff can take hours or days.

My mistake, I thought the season pass was only 6 characters. There are 2 more to come.

It kinda makes me wonder actually if there will be a Season 2. Probably not considering Arcsys (they'd probably make a sequel first with all the first game's fighters, add a couple, then have a pass for that one), but it'd be nice so they could prolong interest in the game. Especially since there will be new players with the Switch.

They talked about wanting to bring X to the console so there's a lot of hope.

While we all played Windwaker and Twilight Princess a few times, I'd still want to see the HD Remakes ported as well as maybe bringing Skyward Sword(with motion control optional maybe? :( )

Octopath is great though...one of my favorite rpgs and I usually prefer playing rpgs with a lot of chunk in story...doesn't make the game bad though.

If they do make a Xenoblade X port, I hope they change some minor things to make the game better, like the method for recruiting party members can be done on "call" as long as you're in NLA instead of having to find them at seemingly random locations, or the Skell flying theme only coming on after you've been flying for a few seconds instead of immediately after leaving the ground.

Also hope they make a way to get the online-exclusive items offline, because what's gonna happen when the online is taken down? You won't be able to get certain equipment.

what does the extra content add?

- Two extra playable characters of Mighty and Ray.
- Encore Mode, a new mode that's like a pseudo-sequel where you play through slightly remixed zones with changed color palettes and a few areas in each one rearranged.
- With the new content there's an update that added some zone transitions and other fixes, four-player multiplayer, and I think a changed Metal Sonic fight and different Act 1 for Mirage Saloon. Dunno if those last two are exclusively Encore Mode though.

Dunno how when it's literally Mania with a bit more content.

Anyway, played it through while recording, gonna snip it together as a bit of a highlight reel. Still a good game, just wasn't a fan of some of the color palette changes in Encore Mode. Biggest one I loved though was Oil Ocean, and that's only because I didn't like the dreary atmosphere of the original and Encore Mode gives it a bright blue, clear sky with silvery-metallic structuring.

The Switch allows microSD Cards for storage, so I'm assuming you can transfer DLC to that. I haven't really experimented with it though to see if you can load from it or if it's just for storage.

I stand by the fact that Mario Sunshine still has some of the best water effects I've seen. Legit looks and feels like the ocean.
Granted, light isn't reflected off of it but the water behavior is great. Imagine how a Sunshine remake would look today.

Yeah, that explanation for the guidance markers was what blew my mind. Usually stuff like that is ignored and chalked up to "it's a videogame" so that you can have something to guide you where you can go, but that was unexpected. Especially since, to my knowledge, neither Kratos or Atreus even mention why they're all over the place until the end.

Not an angry freakout, but a coworker of mine was trying hard to get her schedule to fit with her nursing schooling and the managers were giving her a hard time, constantly scheduling her at times when she couldn't make it. Eventually they gave in, but instead of reasonably scheduling her they just severely cut down her hours to just 4 per week. With how frustrated she was at the whole thing she just broke down and cried when she found out about that.

She no longer works there (quit), but shit, she had a rough time. I felt bad for her.

Rogue seems often overlooked too, and I'd recommend that. Think it recently got a remaster too. Rogue is pretty similar to Black Flag in terms of gameplay focus, just to beware.

They're connected but the overarching plotline is so barren that you can really treat any of them as stand-alone. Even then I'm pretty sure each one gives a summary of what happened last time if you explore the modern parts.
