- Series starts and is pounding out episodes at a rapid pace
- Creator is dealing with regular day job but still cranks out episodes on a consistent basis
- Series gets big
- Creator can now live off the series
- Obtains better equipment
- Episodes now take months to release
- 2-3 episodes a year
- Create side projects that take time away from the series people follow them for
At this point DBZA and Ygo Abridged have gone on longer than either of their respective series

Yugioh Abridged mostly has to do with the fact that he was constantly hit with a lot of copy right infringements that made him depressed and disinterested in making more episodes. He's still doing it now because of his patreon, but it's at a much slower pace.

LK is actually really consistent now which is nice, but it's true that his real life issues played a big part in things.

That's where you get it wrong, they can't make money off the Abridged series. It uses too much of the source material and it's hard enough stopping the owners of the IP from copyright striking them. I don't think DBZA has ever been monetized at any point in its run.

DBZA is actually safe because they made a deal with Funimation, they don't monetize off from the series (ie Ad revenue) but they can sell merchandise from DBZA (which I think is what makes the series afloat for now).

They have a pateron and DBZA has been taken down like 12 times.

Were they taken down recently? I know for sure they made a deal with Funimation, but I'm not sure if they did the same for Toei animation, which is probably the reason they are getting taken down yet. I don't really know too much about DBZA since I don't really watch it, I just only hear stuff what weebs say on a different forum.

They don't. If they were legitimately funny they would be making their own series, not ridding on the success of others.

Burnout? Lack of time? Complicated issues? Could be a number of other things.

Like, I'm fairly sure that DBZA has slowed down because of their gaming channels they started, even though they said it wouldn't affect it.
Also I'd imagine the more you do something, the more you learn and the more you subconsciously strive to make it look more professional. The tiny little details here and there add up a lot. It's what happened with DBZA also, the editor kept using more and more editing tricks to make it look professionally edited together and that sstuff can take hours or days.

Abridged series go down the hill when they spend 90% of the time on editing. The early episodes of DBZA and YGOA had minimal editing and they didn't suffer humorwise at all. They still hold up. And then the editing starts getting out of hand and episodes become months of work with little return on the effort compared to earlier episodes.

They should keep the series quality consistent, even if it does get huge >_> Like they bang out an episode every few weeks at the start, then it gets huge and I guess they feel pressured to make the episodes high quality, so they start working really hard on each episode and it takes MONTHS between them now. I wish they would go back to releasing them every few weeks.

Like they should keep the same workload into each episode from before lol. I'm probably writing this in a weird way, but you know what I mean >_>

With DBZA its partly more effort/time into episodes editing and such but a huge part is also the fact they got older and have lives. They do voice actual anime dubs now, have other YouTube channels/jobsand I think some of them got married and/or had kids too.

Remember they cant make money on the videos themselves.
