Ready to read Ammy/Draven. I originally had Draven making round 3, but quickly realized he was about to pay for 2013

Draven is the kind of rally that if he got it in the first round he would win the whole contest again
So it's either losing in R1 or winning the contest, losing in round 3 makes no sense

It does if you assume the board to be civil and reasonable, something I realized wasnt true once I saw how much people were relishing Draven being put into CATS percentages, as well as framing Mario VS Cloud as righteous retribution for 16 years of unfairness.

Draven went down after the freeze and did worse among guests than registered users. He probably got more votes from trolls and chaos fans who remembered his run and wanted him to do it again than from people antivoting him, because he wasn't going to get many of their votes in the first place.

Kefka vs. Sephiroth might be fun. It's too bad Kefka utterly failed to replicate his 2013 performance so it probably wouldn't be much of a match but Kekfa's ridiculous board vote vs. Sephiroth's terrible one might let him contend until the freeze even then! And Kefka vs. Sephiroth just strikes me as such a classic gamefaqs argument.

Yoshi > Auron unless you'd put Sonic on par with Crono/Mega Man/Pikachu.

And Pikachu's results project Zero to be worth 48% on Yoshi but if you keep the second tier to 15 I'd guess Zero, Auron, and Aerith narrowly miss out.

I don't think Beast belongs. Gambit probably beats him too but nobody should try to get Gambit in.

Individual Power Rangers would be absolute junk.

I REALLY REALLY don't see the demographic that famously never really took to Tidus despite his game's strength and seems to have turned hard against even a lot of nostalgic "edgey" characters encountering Kylo Ren at around age 30 and saying "Wow, this whiner edgelord guy is great."

BB8 isn't much of a character in the first place and with no nostalgia it'd tank hard.

Potentially worthwhile manga/anime characters really might just be DBZ guys outside of I guess non-game Pokemon characters. Think Naruto hit too late for the gamefaqs demographic to care about him. Sailor Moon, Yami Yugi, or Spike Spiegel would have potentially higher ceilings, though I think it's more likely they all collapse laughably than look respectable.

Technically it's supposed to specifically be the Castlevania version of Dracula I guess but yeah nobody's gonna both notice and actually care about that distinction when voting..

He did fairly well but the Castlevania series gives him a pretty good floor and I think vampires being an enduringly popular thing and his position as THE iconic vampire gives him a lot of credibility. So I don't think his case should be generalized.

The Lord of the Rings movies were big enough and well-liked enough that Gandalf could be good too, yeah. Harry Potter might be decent but I feel probably a majority of Harry Potter fans are female which is going to severely limit what he can do on gamefaqs. Pass on the rest.

The difference between Vader and Sephiroth is that while Vader is really old now and has been parodied relentlessly, he's never been treated as cool to hate. Prequel Anakin and some of his actors, sure, but Vader himself? No way; it's partly because Vader is so near-universally liked that some of the prequel stuff annoyed people.

Whereas the campaign against Sephiroth has been pretty vicious in comparison and it's ridiculously easy to find people who don't think the character is any good at all.

The reasons for the differing reaction can be debated but I don't think it can be seriously debated that the long-term reaction to the two has been different.

And I mean this isn't necessarily representative of general gamefaqs opinion but I think it tells the story well enough:
