I can guarentee a good time with the first Mistborn book. Never read anything else in your purchase, but I've heard nothing but praise for Stormlight.

My first impression of Sanderson was negative. I was a Wheel of Time fan and I found the author switch to be extremely jarring. Honestly I'm not really sure why, it's not like I even loved RJ's writing really. His many little writing tics kinda irritated me, and I burned out in my first readthrough on the boring stuff in the latter books. But the little subtle differences in writing style and character behavior just took me out of the story and were like an itch under my skin. I'm now on my second readthrough of his WoT books, and it's not bothering me so much anymore. Maybe it's just easier to distance myself from it now idk. But I'm of course aware of how unfair it is to judge him for coming into an impossible situation like that and not being someone else. I'm curious to see him in his own world with his own characters.

This topic is a bad influence. Just impulse bought the first 6 books in Mistborn and the first 3 in Stormlight. Only ever read his Wheel of Time books. You guys better not have given me a dud!

The Discworld books are utterly fantastic and something everyone should read.

Comedic/Satire fantasy rather than anything serious however, but utterly wonderful books that actually often have some great insights into a vast range of things in the real world.

TIL there's a difference between Terry Goodkind and Terry Pratchett. 41 books is a lot tbh.

I crush on pretty much everybody. One of my least attractive traits, and that's saying something.

I wish I'd waited until now to do that. I thought I was being proactive dumping it in immediately, then we crash in January and I'm going to lose money in 2022. Sigh.
