I mean good on him if he wants to throw money at indy devs that need the push. He claims to not want creative control so if he just works as a brand and a face for devs making something good that might otherwise never get seen, it could be great.

Hopefully he doesn't wind up like the same publishers he criticizes.

While that is generally true, Fire Emblem people are a particular type of "never satisfied". It's a hard fandom to really be a part of, it seems nobody is ever happy. Genuinely, the release of Awakening and then Three Houses and their appeal to people *outside* the fandom have been some of the best times we've had. Because it invited voices that weren't parroting the same nonsense lol

Gacha mechanics are NOT the same thing as "this game has characters from the older entries in the series." All comparison to heroes are shallow as hell. The rings seem to be a major part of the story, you're clearly meant to obtain them throughout normal gameplay. Where is the connection to "ugh gacha grr grr grr"?

Nah, I'm talking about "fans" not the actual fans of the series. The ones that loudly moan that THIS release is going to be the death of what is one of Nintendo's biggest franchises and then the game winds up being good or great. They've been very vocal since Fates, which had problems but was definitely a big success, and there were even a lot of vocal people that seemed to hate Awakening, despite it being inarguably the biggest success the franchise had seen up until that point, at least in the west.

Point is, these games keep coming out and are generally 8/10 or better, but there's a vocal part of the so-called fandom that just cannot ever seem to be satisfied. Genuinely I think the only Fire Emblem *anything* that's been less than stellar has been the first Warriors spinoff.

So I dunno, main character looks dumb and "booooo Marth" just seems like the same typical garbo we often get, and if the cycle repeats like it tends to, the game's going to be good and sell well.

Experienced literally zero slowdown on my switch on either TV or Handheld mode. Finished Scarlet Blaze and starting Golden Wildfire on Hard mode. Impressed by how much more aggressive the AI is on Hard compared to Normal, they didn't just pump numbers to bloat difficulty. It's almost unfortunate my NG+ stats are making these first chapters on playthrough 2 so easy even with the difficulty bump. Really looking forward to these more aggressive mobs actually doing damage.

People give the new movies a lot of shit but I think the only one that's truly bad is the last one. Couldn't stand it, but I loved Last Jedi and really enjoyed Force Awakens.

Prequels were all meh to cringe except Revenge of the Sith, which I loved.

Empire and New Hope are untouchable, though. Return, though... Probably the most blatant toy selling movie in the entire franchise, redeemed by its ending.

Twins in bottom tier is a goddamn crime. Swap them with Lavenza, who is just like, 100% the most bland attendant in the series.

This sounds neat, I've been playing the beta of Emerald DX, which does a lot of what this does, including Fairy type, a few new mons that weren't in Emerald, and a graphical overhaul to add Gen 4-style sprites into the game. A few people still have placeholder sprites and there's some jank, but its been fun. I might try one of these next.

Watched all of season 1. I really enjoyed it, up until.

He kills his friend to keep him quiet and cover himself.

Like up until that point, I sympathized with Barry really hard. But the story kinda lost that as soon as he crossed that threshold. He had hesitated and outright refused to kill Taylor before that, when he had a ton of pressure on him to do so. Killing Chris came about as a very sudden, very jarring thing. And even though it shook Barry to his core, showing him regretting his decision to the point of flying into a mournful rage, I don't know if I like the direction his character suddenly took.

That plus what happens in the last episode of S1, I dunno if I can root for this guy anymore. Overall it was a great watch, though. Just not sure I'm sold on continuing to the second season if this is where Barry is going.

I never watched Inhumans so Blackbolt was cool to me. Shame what happened, but multiverses.

Patrick Stewart as Xavier was amazing and my theatre absolutely blew up, I hadn't seen the trailer so it wasn't spoiled for me.

By the way, who was that weird space person in the post-credits of MoM? Was that someone from Eternals?

Uh, when I was a lot younger I would actively seek out Angelina Jolie movies for... reasons.

But tracking down DVDs in a largely pre-internet world wasn't easy. Also don't think she was particularly well known before Tomb Raider.

Mantis isn't even impressive in his own game. He jobs to regular bullets or strikes from a human. DK strikes would destroy him, and on top of that he's probably more durable than Snake, what with being a cartoonishly strong gorilla.

Rock, Batista, Cena are all pretty great. Hot Rod was probably in the best movie of all of them but it was more "so bad its good". Love that trainwreck.
