I feel like I'm "supposed to" like Passion in Blue better. And I almost docked points from Sim Broadway for having a slow start. But once it picks up, it becomes the more enjoyable and interesting song to me. So far I think that all of the Mad Rat Dead songs have fallen short for me.

Wait, GameFAQs lets you paste images into the post box for uploading now? When the image feature started they didn't let you do that, you had to save it and upload it with a file name.

Everlasting Love used to be in my top 2 WLK songs. Then Katamari Forever came out with a remix that was so good that it retroactively made the original sound worse to me. I don't hold the song to the same level of respect that I used to. However, it is still Katamari music regardless which means it is in my upper tier of VGM. This match would depend entirely on its opponent... and you gave me a close one. I did have to think about this match for a while. Breath of Forest is relaxing and upbeat at the same time, and I could probably listen to it on loop and easily pass 30 minutes without realizing it. But what it comes down to is, I probably won't remember this song the day after it's knocked out of this bracket. So it's not enough to beat one of my old favorites, though I'd still vote for it over some weaker songs.

Damn it, another match where I want to vote for the GBC song and then it ends up being a weak one. I mean, it's a good song, but there are a lot of good songs in that game. It feels weird voting against a Kirby song. Immanence is a long song with some good parts and some bland parts, but I like the good parts. Light is a memorable song from a game that I've played forever, but even listening to it from a VGMC perspective, it doesn't reach that next level of standing out for me. It's still just "one of the songs from that game". Maybe that does come from the sheer amount of exposure that I've already had to the song (compared to most other songs in VGMC which are new to me).

3rd match is deceptive. I'm the one who nominated Madness so obviously I do like it. But Fortune Favours The Bold surprised me by how much I liked it as well. It's not what I'd expect from a game like that (editor's note: I have never seen anything from that game or even know what it's about). It's long but changes enough that it never feels repetitive. It kind of reminds me of Octo Expansion music, but more "chippy" (living up to the composer's name). This matchup hurt to see because I'd put both of these songs near the top of what we've heard in the first 2 weeks so far.
