I get that was a thing when there wasn't a PoS system (that's how it was at Carl's Jr back then anyways), but now you just touch the picture and it applies the price for ya. Maybe subway does it differently, but I can only think of rare occasions they would manually input the price.

I think for the same reason Uncharted got a lot of praise: accessible gameplay with writing that was good "for a game" and made the whole thing feel cinematic. I also tend to think that the timing of it helped it a lot. Character driven zombie stuff was huge in the public consciousness.

This, plus the graphics was a cut above from other games at the time. IMO it was a product of its time, but it did play a huge part in popularizing cinematic games. I know some people hate them, but I enjoy them and it does make other people watching my playthrough a great experience because they can get invested in the story as well. My wife gets bored watching me play games like Valorant or DBD, but she loves it when I play games like GoW:R or the Telltale Walking Dead games.

There were probably very few unhinged twitter dwellers that had any "outrage", but overall it was a nothing burger. Some people saw maybe 1 or 3 users showing some form of disdain, I forgot but maybe it was something stupid like "down with the nuclear family" or something, and people made it look like everyone was hating on the ad. Basically it was all overblown outrage.

Didn't Taco Bell had something like this as well for their cheese fries or something?

It doesn't. As someone who used to be in a lot of these extreme left/liberal people/groups the one thing they all tend to lack is optics. A lot of these people/groups don't care if what they're doing is going to hurt their cause or not because they're doing it for "social justice". They're doing it for a right cause so they don't care about the consequences even if it means ruining peoples lives, driving people away from your cause, looking like a bunch of deranged idiots, etc.

That's not to say extreme right/conservative people/groups don't do this shit as well, but I like to hold people that share my beliefs and politics accountable for doing stupid shit. That's the difference between conservatives and liberals, which is why you have someone stupid as Trump representing you.

That was a pretty hilarious episode. One of his better ones, I actually laughed quite a bit in it. Especially the part when he tried to explain how moving in the room works.

Yeah, the irony is lost on these people. I get filming yourself to make sure your form is right (I used to do that when I first started going to the gym) or to see your results more clearly, but people filming also have an obligation to film responsibly because not everyone wants to be in their video. What makes it even worst is to then post the video online to publicly shame them for it. More than not, filming in a public gym only causes more problems. The ones I especially hate are those who take pictures of themselves in the locker room with people in their background, with numerous occasions of someone nude in the background as well.

Joey Swoll is great.

I'll admit, when I first saw his thumbnail I thought he was going to be one of those stereotypical gym douches, but I'm so glad my first impressions were wrong. I got to meet him in public and he was great.

The first 2/3rds of the game is fantastic. There are times it slows down, but it was never enough to take the enjoyment from me. I will say though the third act does go by way too fast (especially the Ragnarok part) and I think this game could've benefitted from having another part. Still a fantastic game though, a personal 10/10 from me. The Valhalla dlc being excellent and free just adds more to the game.

It's really good, but it has quite a bit of online issues because of its large userbase. Basically the Helldivers 2 problem, which is a good problem to have.

Yeah I'm not exactly against their anti-China stances as a whole, but they dislike China for entirely different reasons than the rest of the world.

I did nothing backhanded, I told it to you straight up. Hell, if I found this topic earlier I would've told you what the context was even when I'm aware of your gimmick/persona. I think your issue is that you can't see things from other peoples perspective, and this was evident when you go into a topic about someone fat and go "why don't they just try to lose weight? lol". When you give yourself a gimmick/persona and actively market yourself that way it makes it harder for anyone to take you seriously even if you're trying to be serious. It's not rocket science, it's just common sense. You sleep in the bed that you make, if you want that to change there's nothing stopping you from starting right now.

TBH, it is a cut above its competition from low effort studios like Illumination or Blue Sky Studios, but I'll admit my disappointment is that Pixar films are usually a bar above their competition, so when they make "okayish" movies it seems like a disappointment, which another user just said in this topic. The romance is cute, but in a friends kind of way. I didn't really get much chemistry between the two (pun not intended), but the standout is the migrant story since that's where I felt most of the heart and good intention of the movie is from. There's a good chance you'll enjoy it though, it's a low stake movie but I enjoyed plenty of low stake movies like Encanto and Luca as long as it's done right.

They haven't been relevant for the longest time and the group is relatively small with it mostly being family members part of the group. Also heard a couple of the younger members dissociate themselves from the group. Still doesn't stop them from being pieces of shits.

Yep, got banned from there myself for "transphobia" even though I had a history of posting pro-trans stuff on there. The context was that a trans user on there was calling anyone for everyone to boycott HL to make a difference for trans people, using methods like shaming others. I told her that actually voting and tackling trans issue politically would make more of a difference, especially when they revealed they lived in a swing state but refused to vote because they don't want to be part of the system, to "boycott" (she never clarified what she meant on this part). So yeah a bunch of other pro-trans users and/or trans users got banned in that topic because we disagreed with TC's method of shaming others to boycott HL. Never went back since.

At least it's better than gamingcirclejerk, especially when HL was a thing. That was a place that openly allowed doxxing as a method for boycotting. Though that's a very very low bar to pass lol.

Hell I was disappointed in HL cause I was hoping it would be a little bit more like Bully with classes scheduled to take and the like. In the end I found it to be wholly underwhelming and generic aside from the setting (the castle and Hogsmeade were awesome!). But I assume most people that are hooked on HP just loved casting spells and exploring the world.

IMO it would have been great if they focused on just the school and the singular town of Hogsmeade and focused more on being in the school. Maybe the dungeons and caves you go into are just fast traveled to, would have given the game more focus and less open world generic bloat.

But I get what you mean, from the first reveal the feedback was NOT good and they should have taken note instead of doubling down. Just silly as hell.

Yeah make no mistake, HL is aggressively mediocre. There's a great video on youtube called "Why does Hogwarts Legacy hate Hogwarts" that shows all my problems I had with the game and why it would've been better off concentrating on its biggest strength, the wizarding school itself. I felt more like a mercenary than an actual student. So yeah I agree to get rid of the open world aspect all together and just stick to what works, the school and make it more like Bully. But my point was that single player games still sell like crazy, which is something I think business execs should be concentrating on just making as high quality games as possible instead of going for cheap predatory monetization that now many gamers are showing we have enough of.

The only thing good about GaaS is that if it's successful enough, it can count as supplemental income when your other games don't perform as well.

Yeah that's what really did it for me. I am not OPPOSED to live service games (Destiny 1 and 2 and Division 1 and 2 were the ones I played the most) but they need to at least be interesting. Give me a cool map to move through that leads to a wave defense or kill x amount and that's better than just what they put on offer.

I also forgot that Gotham Knights exists and is more or less a looter fighter with the Batman family, and that one crashed and burned too. How did WB just completely blind themselves to this?

If anything, Hogwarts Legacy shows that you can make a single player game sell like crazy if you deliver on what people are actually looking for in a video game as oppose to tying a game to predatory practices...but I don't think that will be the message that will come across towards the WB execs and their shareholders.

But yeah I play a lot of looter shooters and the most important thing about looter shooters is to have enough enemy diversity, mission objectives, and styles of play for self expression to where it doesn't feel monotonous to grind. Suicide Squad is early in its "life cycle" but I don't see it living very long lol.

Yeah it's stories like this that just makes it harder be "charitable" to anyone. I mean I still help out people as much as I can, but I'm definitely more wary of helping strangers out.

From what I played, it's fun but it also gets old pretty fast. I don't think it will have staying power with where it is at. It doesn't help it's a playstation exclusive with a lot of monetization. I don't see it lasting long.
