I heard the reason the game was made to begin with because of the positive receptions people had with AC Black Flag ship gameplay. Then the game went into development hell with it constantly getting delayed and going over budget until they were forced to release the game because of international reasons. The result is what we got now and I don't see this game living for very long.

I too watched that movie quite a bit as a kid, can even remember some of the song lyrics to this day. In a bubble it isn't half-bad - the two villains and their dog were the best part of the movie (not surprising that Tony Jay's evil butler is the only thing anyone remembers about the movie via the 'we've got to have money' meme).

I still remember the songs lyrics to this day. I had such fond memories of it until I rewatched it with my nephews years ago and it absolutely did not age well lol. With that said almost all the villains in that movie was pretty damn memorable like the fat dog with the skateboard, the creepy pedo looking doctor, and the 2 villains like you mentioned. It's a guilty pleasure movie and it hold dear to my heart because it's a movie that got me through the rough times of my childhood that I will absolutely admit is just a bias on my end.

Its a common tactic. They think youre desperate to sell it and theyre already there might as well sell it to them

It is a common practice that takes advantage of those who need "cash upfront" right away. Sometimes I give in if I know the item isn't in hot demand or something. The worst of it is when they severely undersell the worth of a hot item that I had to literally laugh at their face and walk away from them.

Channel Awesome was a network for "content creators" run by The Nostalgia Critic and his friends.

Before Youtuber became a common legitimate career option, it was a platform for content creators to band together. Spoony, Linkara, Ross Scott, Cinema Snob, Guru Larry etc.

As time went on Channel Awesome became increasingly irrelevant as Youtube modernized.

Then there was a huge "Change the Channel" controversy where it was revealed that the guys running Channel Awesome were childish douchebags who were mean to everyone and made everyone miserable..

The bad press + irrelevancy caused pretty much everyone to leave and it became a running gag amongst Guru Larry fans that he wasn't leaving and he would be the last man standing.

The Joke being that Larry was one of the least important creators on the site throughout its tenure. Didn't really have any connection to the controversy and just kept doing his thing.

It's one of those "It's actually kinda funny if you know the context" but not easy to explain why it's funny if you know nothing about Channel AWesome or those involved

Thanks for the context!

Really not a fan of this trend, tbh. I was praising Tekken 8 for not being littered with cosmetic microtransactions, where SF6 and MK1 have it in droves.

I guess this is their response to people wanting some more customization options. I just hope it's not price-gougey.

Yeah, the $15 TMNT outfits for your Avatar in SF6 was ridiculous. The $10 OG Burning Skull Scorpion skin in MK1 was also pretty bad as well. If Tekken 8 at minimum can be at a reasonable price range I don't think anyone would be so against this. We've seen fighting game devs take advantage of this shit though.

No? Maybe some people do but most people in general enjoy looking at attractive characteristics. Especially in fictional media where you can idealize characters.

There's such a strange sex-negative wave that's going through most media in recent times, sometimes it's overt and other times it's minor things like the OP example where they just reduce or remove such things. Where it gets weird is that there's also a push to be more open and accepting about sex in general, usually by the same people that decry sexualized characters.

I truly don't understand it.

I'm not gonna deny there are "puritans/prudes" that hate anything sexy or attractive to the "male gaze" that are very prevelant in our entertainment industry. I work in it in Los Angeles and some are pretty open about their agenda. But on the other side of the spectrum, you also have the "horny bridgade" that will call anything woke/esg/tumblr whales when there's a female character that doesn't look like an anime waifu or a super model with TnA. In this particular pics case, there is an agenda because in the original Xmen cartoon there are more frames of Rogue looking like the right pic with the left pic being a rarity in the show. Not to mention the right pic being zoomed in and we tend to know, on average, distance shots tend not to be as detailed than closed up shots to begin with.

As a short guy myself "5'6" that does hang around other short guys most of us aren't "overly aggressive", in fact most of us are like normal people...we mind our own business. The ones that are "overly aggressive" are because their personality. With that said, I have met 1 or 2 of them with a case of Napoleon Complex and many of that comes from society openly making fun of short guys...a feature none of us have any control over. It's more perfectly acceptable to make fun of short guys, even to their face than making fun of a girl who is fat. I used to be fairly passive aggressive about my height in my highschool and early college years, but it was something I grew out of (metaphorically) as I matured and starting living in the real world.

Not really sure that Switch wins on online functionality compared to basically a PC... however it does win on price, as well as battery life. If those two things aren't a concern, there's no reason to get a Switch instead of a Deck (or other handheld PC).

I'm talking about a very specific thing you do on the steam deck when it comes to online functionality. But yeah you are right about battery life as well but it's also dependent on the games you play. Even certain games on the Switch make it die out really quickly like TotK.

There's only two things that the Switch has going for it in comparison, online functionality and price point. Even the OLED is cheaper than the cheapest version of the Steam Deck. Online functionality is possible, but only for certain games and you need to do seperate set ups for it which only feels worth it if you're really into those specific agmes.

To be fair on the digital copies, most of them was only a feature on Funimation if you bought the physical copy of the series so it's not like you're losing access to the series.

With that said, it still poses the hard reality that digital only items means you never really own the item and at any point or discretion they can take it away from you. There should absolutely be outrage when it comes to things like this.

Quezovercoatl posted...
It's not actually a price increase, they're just getting rid of the cheaper price for old Funimation accounts.

https://www.themarysue.com/crunchyroll-price-increase-explained/

They had some old deal price and are just getting the current Crunchyroll one

So much bad info about this. The price is like 8.99 and staying that way, it's not going up to 20 bucks a month.

Oh, now that makes more sense. It's just going to the original Crunchyroll price instead of the cheaper Funimation price. But in a sense, the original Funimation subscribers are still paying for a higher subscription fee once they transfer over to Crunchyroll which still sucks.
