You'll get used to the new ones, but you're never going to be totally free from weird spontaneous VA changes. In particular, some of the Shadowbringers patch content voice acting is... rough... because they had to do it all over Covid quarantine and I think in some cases they had to use substitutes.

If it was supposed to have debuted in 2020 I can't imagine what kind of shit show the production is such that 2 years later HBO is just pulling the plug entirely. This is squeenix. It's way easier to just say "people with a previous save start with XYZ" than dealing with cross-generation saves where some played on a PS4, some got the DLC, some beat the game on hard, etc, etc. Imagine getting to "part 3" and being told "oh, you didn't play part 1 on hard? Sorry, you'll never get Bahamut. Or imagine "part 2" is a PS5 exclusive coming out winter 2024 and everyone who didn't keep their PS4 around is fucked because the saves transfer over local network rather than the cloud.

The real kick in the dick is going to be if they announce part 2 and your part 1 progress doesn't carry over 1:1, meaning you could have skipped all the sidequests and still ended up at the same place as everyone else.

I completely agree. Completely kills the pacing and mood but still feels mandatory because of the rewards. Plus whoever decided the kids hideout, which contains both a shop and multiple side quests, needed to involve like 20 seconds of slowly shuffling through a crevice needs to reassigned from area design to janitorial duty.

I just watched an RLM video about his recent awful movies. He was fed his lines through an ear piece, and his stand-in did more work than him.

I totally buy their theory that he has suddenly come into a ton of debt or something. Nobody as famous as Willis goes from being a AAA action star to shitting out 8 "best of the worst" tier films in one year unless something deeply catastrophic has happened in their life.

I really didn't like the Endwalker theme as it was used in the trailer, but it's way WAY more effective the way it's woven into the actual zone.

Nah, they're almost a pure development studio. Their games are (almost) always published by a third party (Sega, Konami, Activision, etc):

To be fair, I can't exactly blame Platinum games for at least giving this a shot. A studio with hundreds of employees probably doesn't love riding off of the residuals of a couple of past games knowing that every game they release has to be a smash hit or risk dragging the entire company under. The idea of having a title that brings in a steady stream of revenue and is relatively low effort to maintain is the kind of foundation that every studio would dream of because it gives them enough financial security to make the types of games they really want to make rather than chasing trends.

The problem is the deal with the devil that you have to make with a publisher to get that kind of game in the first place.

I guarantee the renter is looking for someone to sleep in the room, pay rent, and otherwise never be around. They're probably listing "female preferred" either because the woman doesn't "feel safe" around men in her house or because she's hoping the tenant finds a boyfriend and spend all her time at his place.

Communities using zoning laws and rules around nature preservation to push back against construction projects is nothing new. Try to build any sort of public structure next to a gated neighborhood and a week later you'll be sitting there being told you have to do an ecological survey because there are endangered turtles in the "wetlands" that you totally thought was just an open field.

So what's the actual take on the accusations? Are we assuming Kanye is making all these things up, that Kim had a legitimate reason to do those things, or that what he's accusing her of doing is completely true but he still comes off as on unhinged?

Could be neat, but I remember the early trailer feeling really repetitive and the dev only has one other title that's sitting at a 5/10 so I can't even really give it the benefit of the doubt. It feels more like a tech demo, IMO, like someone came up with a combat engine and shows it off using a bar stage, but that is meant to sell a publisher on a larger concept so a full game can be made. Maybe it'll be amazing, but I'd be worried that once you play two stages you've experienced everything and the rest is just repetition.

I don't think it's that the story is thin. I think it's that the story is optional and you have to consciously hunt it down. If you collect all of the memories there's just as much story as any other Zelda game.

It was maybe the first open world game I had ever played where it was actually rewarding to just climb to a high point, find something cool looking on the horizon, and then adventure over there.
