Right. We haven't been sending signals out for very long and the ones we have been sending out haven't made it very far. Aliens would need to be very close to receive any of our traffic. As unimaginably big as this universe is, they just don't know we're here.

Radio has only traveled 200 light years so far, which is nothing in a single galaxy with 200-400 billion stars scattered over 200k light years. Ignoring the 2 trillion galaxies outside this one.

Even if intelligent life was extremely common in this galaxy, it would still be impossible to detect because of the distance unless extremely close by.

Light hasn't reached them yet.

Even then they're just seeing earth just forming or seeing prehistoric earth.

and no one is getting locked up, seized property or fined from filing taxes. if you miss reporting a 1099, they just say hey pay this tax plus penalty and interest.

Read where you can just show your 1099 info later if asked.
