Mia Khalifa posted a string of anti-Independence Day messages to mark July 4. Millions of Americans celebrated the annual public holiday, which marks the USA gaining independence from the UK in 1776. But Lebanese-American babe Mia did not appear keen on joining her compatriots in the celebrations. She started off by posting a video of herself mocking the US military with the caption: "Support our troops and their 4th grade reading levels." Mia went on to say: "The military is a f***ing cult and you need the IQ of a house plant to get in." The 28-year-old then posted another clip mocking America's national anthem, the Star-Spangled Banner.

Not stopping there, Mia shared a post entitled "there is nothing to celebrate today". It said: "No amount of BBQ, fireworks and American flag clothing (which violates the Flag Code) can mask the daily assaults on our democracy. "From never ending police brutality and the oppression of so many, to voter suppression efforts and legislation intended to strip citizens of their rights, our perceived "independence" is a farce. "Here are four things you can do today (and every day) that are more meaningful than a day of faux patriotism." Independence Day is generally considered one of the biggest US public holidays, featuring fireworks, barbecues, carnivals and concerts among other festivities. Mia moved to America from Lebanon when she was still a young girl but she has regularly been critical of the US government and Americans.

https://www.npr.org/2021/07/03/1012849198/ransomware-cyber-attack-revil-attack-huntress-labs

A ransomware attack paralyzed the networks of at least 200 U.S. companies on Friday, according to a cybersecurity researcher whose company was responding to the incident. The REvil gang, a major Russian-speaking ransomware syndicate, appears to be behind the attack, said John Hammond of the security firm Huntress Labs. He said the criminals targeted a software supplier called Kaseya, using its network-management package as a conduit to spread the ransomware through cloud-service providers. Other researchers agreed with Hammond's assessment. "Kaseya handles large enterprise all the way to small businesses globally, so ultimately, (this) has the potential to spread to any size or scale business," Hammond said in a direct message on Twitter. "This is a colossal and devastating supply chain attack." Such cyberattacks typically infiltrate widely used software and spread malware as it updates automatically.

Cybersecurity researcher Jake Williams, president of Rendition Infosec, said he was already working with six companies hit by the ransomware. It's no accident that this happened before the Fourth of July weekend, when IT staffing is generally thin, he added. "There's zero doubt in my mind that the timing here was intentional," he said. Brian Honan, an Irish cybersecurity consultant, said by email Friday that "this is a classic supply chain attack where the criminals have compromised a trusted supplier of companies and have abused that trust to attack their customers." He said it can be difficult for smaller businesses to defend against this type of attack because they "rely on the security of their suppliers and the software those suppliers are using." The only good news, said Williams, of Rendition Infosec, is that "a lot of our customers don't have Kaseya on every machine in their network," making it harder for attackers to move across an organization's computer systems. That makes for an easier recovery, he said.

Olympic hammer thrower Gwen Berry's history of offensive tweets has been uncovered after she snubbed the American national anthem during trials last weekend. Berry, 32, made a variety of tasteless jokes and observations in messages dating back up to ten years, but which are still visible on her account. The athlete - who has insisted that the National Anthem is racist - posted tweets mocking Chinese, Mexican and white people. Posts also include ill-judged jokes about rape, suggestions she would 'stomp on a child', as well as using the word '********', widely seen as being offensive and disrespectful, Fox News reported. The revelations come after Berry turned her back last weekend when the national anthem was being played after her Olympic qualifier. Toward the end of the anthem, Berry picked up a black T-shirt with the words 'Activist Athlete' emblazoned on the front, and draped it over her head. She has claimed that she was 'tricked' into being there at that moment, and was enraged and confused, insisting the anthem did not represent her - but that she still loves the United States.

On Friday, tweets she had posted earlier in her career began recirculating online. Critics pounced on the image, claiming it showed Berry was a fraud who only staged her protest on Sunday to raise her profile. 'Totally not all an act!' tweeted Donald Trump Jr. 'She was definitely not protesting to get attention for herself and/or maybe some of those woke Nike sponsorship dollars. 100% legit and not at all a cottage industry victimization scheme we see so much of these days.'

https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/03/health/unvaccinated-variant-factories/index.html

Unvaccinated people do more than merely risk their own health. They're also a risk to everyone if they become infected with coronavirus, infectious disease specialists say. That's because the only source of new coronavirus variants is the body of an infected person. "Unvaccinated people are potential variant factories," Dr. William Schaffner, a professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, told CNN Friday. "The more unvaccinated people there are, the more opportunities for the virus to multiply," Schaffner, a professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, said. "As mutations come up in viruses, the ones that persist are the ones that make it easier for the virus to spread in the population," Andrew Pekosz, a microbiologist and immunologist at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, told CNN.
"Every time the viruses changes, that gives the virus a different platform to add more mutations. Now we have viruses that spread more efficiently."

Viruses that don't spread cannot mutate. Variants have arisen all over the world -- the B.1.1.7 or Alpha variant was first seen in England. The B.1.351 or Beta variant was first spotted in South Africa. The Delta variant, also called B.1.617.2, was seen first in India. And the US has thrown up several of its own variants, including the B.1.427 or Epsilon lineage first seen in California and the B.1.526 or Eta variant first seen in New York. The current vaccines protect well against all the variants so far, but that could change at any moment. That's why doctors and public health officials want more people to get vaccinated. "The more we allow the virus to spread, the more opportunity the virus has to change," the World Health Organization advised last month. Vaccines are not widely available in many countries. But in the US, there is plenty of supply, with slowing demand. Just 18 states have fully vaccinated more than half their residents, according to data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Those populations of unvaccinated people give the virus the change not only to spread, but to change. "All it takes is one mutation in one person," said Dr. Philip Landrigan, a pediatrician and immunologist at Boston College.

https://nypost.com/2021/07/02/top-20-cities-for-cheating-in-the-us-revealed-sex-study/

After more than a year stuck on lockdown with their significant others, people are itching to get out of the house and outside their marriage or relationship for some sexy action. As COVID-19 restrictions loosen up nationwide, a new study by Ashley Madison yes the infamous dating site that caters to cheaters has revealed the top 20 cities for loosening up your marital vows. The state-by-state infidelity breakdown, published in the Journal of Sex Research, was based on the number of signups to the dating service between June 20, 2020 and September 22, 2020, on a per capita basis. Last year, the company saw a spike in the number of sign-ups between March 1 and April 25, with up to 17,000-plus new accounts created in a single day. Two Florida hot spots Miami and Orlando and the aptly nicknamed Sin City landed on top of the Summer of Sex Index. Meanwhile, such disparate cities as Boise, Idaho and Tucson, Arizona made their debuts just in time for whats alternately been dubbed Hot Vax Summer, Slutty Summer or The Whoring 20s. The new research also found that women are more likely than men to sneak outside of their marriage to get frisky. When only looking at women who slipped into someone elses sheets, the list of top cities for screwing around skewed a little. Miami kept the top hot spot, but Atlanta and Oklahoma City took over the second and third spots.

Meanwhile, women may not only be having more affairs they might be the experts. Men have been traditionally portrayed as the ones capable of balancing both a spouse and a lover, said Dr. Tammy Nelson, author of When Youre the One Who Cheats, who is quoted in the research. But the truth is, women are better at multitasking and according to this study, they may be better at cheating. More than half of the women I talked to said: Im in a sexless marriage or Im not having orgasms, and thats why Im cheating, said researcher Alicia Walker, author of The Secret Life of the Cheating Wife: Power, Pragmatism, and Pleasure in Womens Infidelity. Women are having more sex outside of their marriage but this also might be due to the amount of partners they have, according to the study. In the United States, the average number of affair partners is 6 which is higher than the global average of 5.7 but lower than our sensual neighbors below the border: Mexican women have an average of 10 affair partners.

https://www.cbssports.com/olympics/news/u-s-sprinter-shacarri-richardson-reportedly-fails-drug-test-could-miss-tokyo-olympics/

American sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson has reportedly failed a drug test, which could result in the 21-year-old standout missing some or all of the Olympic events she qualified for. Jamaica Gleaner first reported the news Thursday night, saying she tested positive for a prohibited substance. They reported that due to the positive test, her U.S. Olympic Trials performance was disqualified and she is set to miss the Tokyo Games. Tyler Dragon of the Enquirer tweeted that she did not use steroids and is facing a 30-day suspension for testing positive for marijuana. According to Dragon, she will likely be suspended while the 100-meter event is taking place at the Olympics, but she could still qualify for the 4x100m relay. The Jamaica Gleaner reported she could face anywhere from a one- to three-month ban for the failed test, which was done at the U.S. Olympic trials. Her 100m U.S. Olympic Trials win has been provisionally disqualified. Jenna Prandini, who came in fourth in the event at the trials, is expected to replace her if the disqualification stands.

Richardson had not publicly addressed the reports at the time this article was first published. She also withdrew from Sunday's Diamond League meeting in Stockholm, where she was scheduled to run the 200 meters. Her last tweet is from Thursday, and reads, "I am human." The Olympics are set to begin on July 23 and go until August 8. They were postponed from the summer of 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen has a warrant out for his arrest after skipping court in Michigan on Thursday, a report said. Hansen was supposed to appear in a Shiawassee County courtroom in connection to a sting operation he assisted authorities with that led to the October 2020 arrests of three men who sought to meet up with underage girls, NBC 25 reported. The sting operation is akin to the work Hansen did as host of the popular NBC series, which ended in 2007. Shiawassee County Prosecuting Attorney Scott Koerner told the outlet that Hansen was subpoenaed to appear Thursday, but did not. In January 2019, Hansen was arrested in Connecticut and charged with larceny for allegedly purchasing about $13,000 in merchandise with checks that later bounced, TMZ had reported.

https://nypost.com/2021/07/01/man-breaks-penis-after-it-buckled-during-sex-makes-medical-history/

A frisky UK fellow reportedly made medical and sexual history after accidentally snapping his penis lengthwise during a disastrous session in the sack. We present the first documented case of a vertical penile fracture sustained by a 40-year-old man during sexual intercourse, reads the groundbreaking case study published this week in the British Medical Journal. Medics report that the anonymous rompers penis buckled against his partners perineum the region between the anus and genitals due to what they can only surmise was an ill-timed thrust. Specifically, he suffered a broken penis, which occurs when one ruptures the rubbery sheath of tissue below the skin that allows the penis to increase in width and length to produce a firm erection, according to Healthline. As the injury generally happens when the member is at full mast, it often feels like a broken bone (so to speak) to the injured party, experts reported. Per the study, up to 88.5% of penile fractures occur during sexual intercourse, with a 20-year retrospective study concluding doggy style and man on top as the two main sexual positions that endanger penises.

However, this new patients case was particularly unusual as he experienced only minor swelling and not the popping sound, rolling of the skin and other symptoms normally associated with phallic fractures. His erection also faded gradually unlike most sufferers, whose phalluses go flaccid immediately after the snap. Indeed, subsequent MRI scans showed that the mans penis had a 3-centimeter-long vertical tear rather than the more common horizontal variety along the right side of the shaft. Despite the unconventional nature of the fracture, surgeons were forced to treat the patients mangled manhood within 24 hours to prevent complications such as permanent erectile dysfunction, researchers reported. Thankfully, the erect-tive surgery went off without a hitch. The man fully recovered and was able to have hanky-panky hopefully with better aim a mere six months after his fateful fling. Not only that but he was able to achieve erections of the same quality to those prior to the injury, denying any penile curvature or significant palpable scarring. However, more research is needed before scientists can confidently determine whether vertical penis fractures alter either the presentation or long-term outcomes following operative repair.

https://codeblue.galencentre.org/2021/06/25/australia-finds-delta-covid-19-variant-transmits-in-less-than-10-seconds/

Australian government officials have warned how easily the Delta coronavirus variant spreads, in mere seconds, after fleeting encounters between strangers at a mall in the state of New South Wales resulted in transmission of the disease. New South Wales premier Gladys Berijiklian described the encounters as scarily fleeting after CCTV footage showed the transfer of the virus between two people who briefly walked past each other while shopping at Westfield Bondi Junction in Sydney. Literally people not even physically touching each other but fleetingly coming into the same airspace has seen the virus transfer from one person to another, the premier said, as reported by local media ABC News. Thats how contagious it is. Dr Jeannette Young, chief health officer of Queensland, similarly highlighted the speed and ease of the spread of the Delta variant with very fleeting contact in some cases.

If you remember at the start of this pandemic, I spoke about 15 minutes of close contact being a concern, she was quoted saying. Now, it looks like its five to 10 seconds. Thats a concern. The risk is so much higher now than it was only a year ago. New South Wales health minister Brad Hazzard further illustrated the variant as a gold medalist when it comes to jumping from one person to the other, as quoted by The Guardian. Visual proof of the transmission has prompted health authorities to request those who were at the Sydney mall on June 12 and 13 to get tested for Covid-19 and minimise their movement. Dr Young announced Wednesday that Queensland would shut its borders to people from Greater Sydney, the Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Wollongong and Shellharbour as the state expanded its list of hotspots.

British teenagers are using TikTok to learn and share tips for faking positive Covid-19 tests as hundreds of thousands of pupils in bubbles are already being forced to miss school. Clips of young people applying various liquids to lateral flow tests have racked up millions of views on the popular video app, with many users offering suggestions. Videos uploaded under the search term #fakecovidtest have been viewed more than 6.5 million times, with the dedicated account @.fakecovidtests gaining more than 20,000 followers. A single video has been viewed more than 2.5m times since it was uploaded on 1 April, while others have received more than 289,000 and 71,000 views respectively. Apple sauce, Coca Cola, vinegar, hand sanitiser and kiwi fruit are among the suggestions users are encouraging others to apply to the tests in the hope of testing positive for Covid-19 and being made to stay away from school. However, many users pointed out that pupils positive lateral flow tests are required to be followed by a PCR test. Independent fact checking organisation Full Fact has previously explained that fizzy drinks and acidic fruits can appear to break the test into displaying what looks like a positive result, clarifying that rapid tests very rarely return false positive results when used on humans as intended.

Mary Bousted, the joint general secretary of the National Education Union, told i this week that the spread of Delta through schools meant that the situation in some parts of the country had become untenable. She said pupils should be tested in school to combat teenagers who have stopped self-testing. A TikTok spokesperson said: Our community guidelines make clear that we remove content which includes misleading information that causes harm, including medical misinformation related to Covid-19, and anti-vaccine disinformation more broadly.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/supreme-court/supreme-court-upholds-restrictive-arizona-voting-laws-test-voting-rights-n1272892

The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld two election laws in the 2020 battleground state of Arizona that challengers said make it harder for minorities to vote. The case was an important test for what's left of one of the nation's most important civil rights laws, the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which the Supreme Court scaled back in 2013. A remaining provision allows lawsuits claiming that voting changes would put minority voters at a disadvantage in electing candidates of their choice. The vote was 6-3, with the court's three liberals dissenting. Election law experts said the court's ruling will make it harder for minority groups to challenge voting laws. "This significantly dilutes the Voting Rights Act," said Rick Hasen, a law professor at the University of California, Irvine. "Minority groups will now have to meet a much higher standard beyond showing that a change presents a burden to voting. It puts a thumb on the scale for the states." Writing for the majority, Justice Samuel Alito said the law requires "equal openness" to the voting process. "Mere inconvenience cannot be enough to demonstrate a violation" of the law, he wrote. Voting law changes may have a different impact on minority and nonminority groups, Alito said, "but the mere fact there is some disparity in impact does not necessarily mean that a system is not equally open or does not give everyone an equal opportunity to vote."

Writing in dissent for herself and Justices Stephen Breyer and Sonia Sotomayor, Justice Elena Kagan said the decision undermines the Voting Rights Act, which she called "a statute that stands as a monument to America's greatness and protects against its basest impulses." Civil rights groups were hoping the Supreme Court would use the Arizona case to strengthen their ability to challenge the dozens of post-2020 voting restrictions imposed by Republican legislatures in the wake of Donald Trump's defeat. Thursday's ruling said Arizona did not violate the Voting Rights Act when it passed a law in 2016 allowing only voters, their family members or their caregivers to collect and deliver a completed ballot. The court also upheld a longstanding state policy requiring election officials to throw out ballots accidentally cast in the wrong precincts. Morales-Doyle said this is particularly dangerous because dozens of states have advanced voting restrictions this year, inspired by Trumps frequent and false voter fraud claims. Chad Dunn, co-founder and legal director of the UCLA Voting Rights Project, said some Republican-controlled legislatures will see it as license to pass voting restrictions under the guise of combating voter fraud. "Theyre going to see that if we call it voter fraud, then we can do whatever discriminatory practice we want," he told NBC News

https://www.local10.com/news/local/2021/06/30/rescuers-spoke-to-woman-trapped-in-surfside-collapse-but-she-didnt-make-it/

In the early morning hours Thursday, immediately after Champlain Towers South collapsed, fire rescue workers heard reports of a woman alive trapped in a lower level that was now inside the garage. One rescue worker who asked to remain anonymous tells Local 10 News: Everybody that was there, thats what were trying to do, get this lady out and comfort her. ... She was asking for help and she was pleading to be taken out of there. We were continuously talking to her. ... Honey, we got you. Were going to get to you. But a photo he shared showed what stood in their way: A dumpster, metal rebar, and a wall of concrete. The rescue worker says he and others first on the scene rushed into that debris before anyone even knew if the building was safe, pausing only to send a quick text to his children: Love you guys, always. He says he was never able to see the woman trapped inside. The first thing I remember is thumping on the wall and then I remember her just talking, Im here, get me out. Get me out, he says. He says crews never abandoned their effort but he later learned the woman didnt make it. Local 10 News also learned of an email sent by a supervisor worried about the effects of this loss on his crews, saying they were involved with an active conversation with the female trapped next to the bed about 10 to 11 hours after the collapse. She was aware her parents were also trapped next to her.

The email says a fire that broke out forced crews to move back as we know she passed. Chiefs on scene reported, They saw the wind knocked out of our guys Miami-Dade Lt. Obed Frometa, with Florida Task Force 1, also serves as a chaplain, helping his colleagues cope with the losses they are facing here. He says situations like these bring a feeling of not only defeat, but its a feeling of loss. We are human, after all. Were not robots. Were not machines. We feel it. Frometa adds: We have team members that have firsthand friends that are potential victims of this, so it weighs on them and it weighs on us. To this point, its not known who that woman was or if she has been removed from the building.

Kodak Black has been slammed on social media, after sharing a video of himself throwing an estimated $100,000 into the ocean while aboard a boat. The rapper, Bill Kahan Kapri, took to Instagram late Tuesday to share footage of himself looking disgruntled as he tossed stacks of crisp notes into the water. Captioning the clip, the 24-year-old musician wrote: "I Broke You Off When Dem Fuck ****** Wouldn't Give You A Dime !!! I Ain't Owe You Shit ***** I Just Wanted To See You Shine !!! Yeen Never Gave Me Shit ***** I Had My Own Grind !!!!

After the video was criticized on Instagram, it was soon circulated on Twitter, where viewers also expressed their outrage. "Instead of donating to the ones in need, he throws it away just to catch attention," wrote @gilber_sen on the micro-blogging platform. "Destruction of money is a federal crime because it causes damage to the entire economy," said @JohnZsid. "It's the US government's money, not his. We borrow money as printed symbols of worth. Also, more accurately, it's money his label loaned to him that he has to pay back." Responding to a fan who spoke out in defence of Kapri, @hft_trading1988 said: "This is a twisted mindset. You can never see any successful entrepreneur do this, only those with poverty mindset." "I hate that video of Kodak black spraying $100k in an ocean," tweeted @SiSi____Eko. "I know some of you will think is fake currency but people are that crazy much." "Kodak black throwing money in the water while there are people without basic amenities in the world. Are you entertained...," said @ScarcityStudios.

Pennsylvanias highest court overturned Bill Cosbys sex assault conviction Wednesday after finding an agreement with a previous prosecutor prevented him from being charged in the case. Cosby has served more than two years of a three- to 10-year sentence at a state prison near Philadelphia. He had vowed to serve all 10 years rather than acknowledge any remorse over the 2004 encounter with accuser Andrea Constand. The 83-year-old Cosby, who was once beloved as Americas Dad, was convicted of drugging and molesting the Temple University employee at his suburban estate. He was charged in late 2015, when a prosecutor armed with newly unsealed evidence Cosbys damaging deposition from her lawsuit arrested him days before the 12-year statute of limitations expired.

Can likewise confirm I haven't posted a number of my bloodbaths lol.
To make you feel better, here's my current cumulative performance on my biggest losers:

BB -34%
BSSP -51%
ENZC -33%

Hopefully that stuff turns around for you. Since I stopped playing penny stocks my biggest loser over the last two months was DKNG. It tanked like 30% in early may. It recovered only to tank like 20% in a day again after a short seller report earlier this month

Apologies for it being another survivorship bias story but that stock rebounded both times. I averaged down and it worked out but that probably doesn't work for every stock. Like DIS is my next biggest loser I bought in at 185 and it hasn't been over $180 in a while but the loss isnt life damaging. And I feel it more likely it rebounds than goes to zero unless there is another wave of COVID in US.

https://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/columnists/tomlinson/article/Tomlinson-Masks-off-and-let-the-unvaccinated-pay-16282552.php

The COVID-19 pandemic is over for me, at least until a vaccine-defeating virus emerges. I am not the only one reaching this conclusion. Restaurants are filling up. Two recent flights I took were full. Shopping malls no longer worry about social distancing. Bar stools have bottoms in them. I keep a mask in my back pocket just in case, but my patience is running thin. Im vaccinated, and anyone over the age of 12 can easily obtain one at this point. There are few good excuses for not getting the shot. The time has come for vaccine refusers to take personal responsibility for their hesitancy. Society must stop coddling them by ordering everyone else to take burdensome precautions.

I spent a year advocating masks, but its time to move on. The people who are taking a risk are the unvaccinated. Since they are inconveniencing the rest of us, we have the right to ask why they are not taking this essential health precaution. Only 21 of 1.8 million people vaccinated in the U.S. experienced an allergic reaction to a COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Centers for Disease Control. More than 70 percent of those reactions took place within 15 minutes of receiving the shot, which is why they make you loiter around afterward. The only people who have a valid medical excuse for avoiding the vaccine are those with allergies to the vaccines ingredients or a history of allergic reactions to vaccines. Those people make up less than 1 percent of the population, and while they must take precautions, the authorities should allow the rest of us to resume our regular lives. Public health officials, though, are worried about the 30 percent of American adults who have not received their first dose. They are why public health officials want to keep mask requirements in place. In other words, the vaccine-hesitant are holding the rest of us back. If there was ever a time to force people to take some personal responsibility, this is it. Since half of Texas Republicans told Quinnipiac University pollsters they do not intend to get vaccinated, they should embrace this high-stakes chance to live their values. Lets strike a balance between personal liberty and government regulation. I dare you. If the unvaccinated want to wander around without a mask and expose themselves to the virus, then let them. Infection, after all, is one path to immunity if it doesnt kill you. If youre unlucky and suffer a permanent disability, well, you were warned.

It kinda makes sense the differences between CDC and WHO comments. CDC is US based US has states that are 70% vaccinated. WHO is world wide some entire countries are less than 10% vaccinated.

I guess CDC is banking on people traveling to those unvaxed countries or those unvaxed countries dont have people coming to the US isnt going to be an issue since we have 70% vaccinated in certain states.

I'm not into meme stocks, but the posts there can be pretty funny. I'll go there on occasion to see the memes of people losing thousands, or someone winning big.

Im not either. Just feels like you are entering a cult when in some of those threads. The upvote system probably plays a part in it since if you say something against the crowd it can get your post hidden.

It is interesting they turned investing to some people as an us against hedge funds thing. Rather than looking for general trends going on and invest based off that. But I guess short term people can make money off it.

How do yall find these runners?

I'm guessing for some it is either luck or going to a site like finviz and seeing the top gainers and jumping in on those.

I'm kinda wondering if TTCF is in the middle of a pump and dump due to its option activity from yesterday but cant find any info around the social media type sites for that type of sentiment. It just the usual useless info like take that hedge funds and $25 end of day. It seems like one of those pump and dumpers targets anyway since it has a small float, small market cap, and percentage of float shorted above 20%.

https://nypost.com/2021/06/29/eric-adams-narrowly-edges-garcia-in-preliminary-ranked-choice-results-boe/

The Democratic primary race for mayor was thrown into chaos Tuesday as the city Board of Elections appeared to have botched the count amid the citys first ranked-choice election. Preliminary results released earlier in the day showed a total of 941,832 cast for mayor, an increase of more than 140,000 from the 799,827 that were counted on June 22, the day of the primary. The glaring discrepancy went unnoticed until it was flagged by front-runner Eric Adams. The vote total just released by the Board of Elections is 100,000-plus more than the total announced on election night, raising serious questions, an Adams spokesman said. We have asked the Board of Elections to explain such a massive increase and other irregularities before we comment on the Ranked Choice Voting projection. In a statement, the BOE offered no explanation and instead asked the public, elected officials and candidates to have patience. We are aware there is a discrepancy in the unofficial RCV round by round elimination report. We are working with our RCV technical staff to identify where the discrepancy occurred, it said. The embattled agency later scrubbed all the results from its website, replacing them with a message saying, Unofficial Rank Choice Results Starting on June 30. Some questioned why the agency even released the preliminary results. Veteran political consultant Sid Davidoff, a former aide to the late Mayor John Lindsay, said, Its unclear why the Board of Elections put out these preliminary results today as they are relatively meaningless when you have 120,000 absentee ballots still outstanding. It would have been more beneficial for them to wait until they had a complete picture rather than further muddy the waters in an already confusing issue, he added.

The disarray marked the latest in a long line of screw-ups by the BOE, which admitted violating election laws by purging 200,000 voters from its rolls before the 2016 presidential primary. During the November 2018 midterm elections, some voters were forced to wait hours to cast their ballots because high humidity jammed new, $56 million scanners. And during the 2020 presidential primaries, the board disqualified 80,000 ballots because officials werent prepared to handle the deluge of mail-in votes cast amid the coronavirus pandemic.

https://www.tmz.com/2021/06/29/james-corden-spill-your-guts-petition-kim-saira-death-threats-late-late-show-backlash-asian-hate/

The woman behind the petition demanding James Corden kill his 'Spill Your Guts' segment on the "Late Late Show" says she's facing tons of backlash ... including threats to her life. Kim Saira, who started the petition that now has more than 45,000 signatures, tells TMZ ... despite tons of support, she's also getting flooded with hate mail, with the angriest critics going so far as to send her death threats on the daily. Kim says James could help put an end to the hate coming her way -- some of which she says includes racial attacks -- but she's wondering if he even cares about what she's going through.

As we reported ... the petition accuses James of encouraging anti-Asian racism by "continuously mocking" foods from Asian cultures in his 'Spill Your Guts' segment, a game where he tries to get celebs to answer tough questions, or eat the foods in front of them. James says the segment will switch up the foods instead of axing it all together, and they'll be going with grub that's bad for diets and staying away from foods associated with different cultures. Kim tells us the proposed changes are a good first step, but she wants James to go further ... by apologizing for putting Asian cuisine in a negative light, and donating to Asian-owned businesses and restaurants.

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/29/more-people-plan-to-quit-as-return-to-work-plans-go-into-effect-.html

In whats been dubbed the Great Resignation, a whopping 95% of workers are now considering changing jobs, and 92% are even willing to switch industries to find the right position, according to a recent report by jobs site Monster.com. Most say burnout and lack of growth opportunities are what is driving the shift, Monster found. When we were in the throes of the pandemic, so many people buckled down, now what were seeing is a sign of confidence, said Scott Blumsack, senior vice president of research and insights at Monster.

Already, a record 4 million people quit their jobs in April alone, according to the Labor Department. At the same time, there are more opportunities for job seekers with the Labor Department reporting a record 9.3 million job openings as of the latest tally. The number of open jobs is higher than ever before, thats absolutely contributing to why candidates are putting their toe in the water to see whats out there, Blumsack said. As Covid vaccinations gain steam, so are plans to return to the office, which is driving more workers to consider their options.

WSB starting pumping PSFE so of course it dumps today. It was making a nice comeback to my breakeven too.

That just the way WSB does their thing. They short term minded with their buy calls that expire next month. I like Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Jefferies, Morgan Stanley, etc pumps more. When they do their upgrades it can often cause more sustained upward movements since they do price targets so people have a price in mind to dump.

I got lucky and GS just upgraded one of my stocks. It was CPNG and now they up 9% right now thanks to that manipulation.
