https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/rays-ace-tyler-glasnow-blames-partially-torn-ucl-flexor-tendon-strain-on-mlbs-new-foreign-substances-policy/

Tampa Bay Rays ace Tyler Glasnow, who left his start on Monday night because of elbow inflammation, has a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament and a flexor tendon strain, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan. Glasnow will attempt to rehab the injury without undergoing Tommy John surgery, though it's unclear what his chances are of avoiding that fate. Glasnow, 27, had pitched fantastically over his first 14 starts this season. He'd compiled a 2.66 ERA (145 ERA+) and a 4.56 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 88 innings. Although the Rays tend to steer away from lengthy starts, they'd recently allowed him to work at least seven innings in four of his last five outings entering Monday's contest against the Chicago White Sox. Glasnow, for his part, blamed his injury on MLB's new policies aimed at curbing pitchers' usage of foreign substances. "I just threw 80 something innings and you just told me I can't use anything. I have to change everything," he told reporters, including Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Florida. "I truly believe 100 percent that's why I got hurt. I'm frustrated MLB doesn't understand. You can't just tell us to use nothing. It's crazy."

Social medias hottest new couple embodies two of the most romantic cliches: Love is blind and Age aint nothing but a number. Despite a 37-year age gap, these unabashed lovebirds are braving a barrage of trolls to take TikTok by storm with popular clips of them dancing and smooching. King Qurann, 23, who goes by the TikTok username @ttvleolove_3, shares frequent footage with his girlfriend Queen Cheryl, 60, who posts on the video-streaming platform as @oliver6060. Their now-viral videos, which regularly attract hundreds of thousands of views, often show them swaying to R&B songs or bopping to rap hits. They insist that their love is genuine, and plenty of others think so, too Qurann has 420,200 followers and over 6.8 million likes. But that hasnt stopped a horde of haters from passing judgment, with many branding their nontraditional TikTok affair disgusting and shaming wrinkly Cheryls decomposing face, the Sun first reported. One recent clip watched a staggering 3.7 million times sees the couple respond to the question, Do your family approve yall dating? The devoted duo responded simply, Yeah.

Many people in the comments on their videos have left brutal remarks about the sincerity of their relationship. Some claim Qurann must be with her because shes rich, while others have characterized him as a caretaker for a woman on the verge of death. In one response video that garnered 1.2 million likes, cruel comments ranged from he be dating Prince Philip to She decomposing. In another, commenters shamed Cheryl as a poor thing [who] can barely walk and dragged her as someone who will need oxygen and a life alert every time they post a dancing video. Despite the hateful comments, the couple claims they have received support from their respective families, including Cheryls kids who are older than Qurann. However, Cheryl, who revealed she has an eating disorder, has been especially criticized for facial wrinkles that make her look like Quranns great-grandmother and the pileup has taken its toll on her man. One video captioned me defending my girl in the comments section features Qurann throwing household items in a fit of anger aimed at Cheryls online bullies. The couple has also taken to Instagram Live to speak out against haters. In one recent video post, Cheryl said, Im not doing anything wrong. We dance, we spread positive vibes, we have a lot of good things going for us [and] Im not gonna let the haters win. Qurann has also directly responded to hate comments about Cheryls wrinkles as looking worse than a cabbage, telling viewers that the reason they send hate mail is because nobody look at yall the way I look at her.

https://gothamist.com/news/ny-lifting-most-covid-restrictions-now-70-adults-are-partially-vaccinated

Governor Andrew Cuomo is due to lift the vast majority of New York's coronavirus restrictions and safety measures now that 70% of adults have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The state reached the milestone on Monday, according to data compiled by the Centers for Disease Control and Preventionjust over a week after Cuomo announced the goal. More than 11.2 million New York residents were partially vaccinated as of Monday, including 10.8 million adults.

But public health experts fear this benchmark is masking broad gaps and disparities in vaccine coverageones that could lead to outbreaks this summer or fall in vulnerable neighborhoods. These overall averages camouflage huge geographic and demographic disparities, Dr. Cline Gounder, an infectious disease specialist and epidemiologist at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine and Bellevue Hospital and the host and producer of Epidemic, said via email. Within New York City, for example, we know that the proportion of adults fully vaccinated ranges from 32% of Black adults to 71% of Asian/Native Hawaiian/other Pacific Islander adultsfrom 37% in Far Rockaway to 100% in the Financial District. Under the new policy, all capacity restrictions, social distancing, cleaning and disinfection requirements, health screenings, and contact tracing requirements will now be lifted throughout the state for commercial settings. These include retail, food services, offices, gyms and fitness centers, amusement and family entertainment, hair salons, barbershops and personal care services. On Monday, Governor Cuomo acknowledged that the 70% marker does not mean the outbreak is over, while still celebrating New Yorks achievement. He once again highlighted the zip codes with the lower vaccination rates and urged local governments to do what they can to improve rates there.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/olympics/2021/06/14/shelby-houlihan-us-olympic-track-hopeful-tests-positive-steroid/7695211002/

A dominant American middle distance runner says she has been banned for four years after testing positive for an anabolic steroid that she believes came from a burrito. Shelby Houlihan, the reigning national champion and American record-holder at both 1,500 and 5,000 meters, wrote on social media Monday that she was provisionally banned by the Athletics Integrity Unit after testing positive for nandrolone, which has been found in pork. Houlihan said she appealed the ruling to the Court of Arbitration for Sport and was informed Friday that it did not accept her explanation. "I feel completely devastated, lost, broken, angry, confused and betrayed by the very sport that Ive loved and poured myself into just to see how good I was," the 28-year-old wrote in an Instagram post. "I want to be very clear. I have never taken any performance enhancing substances. And that includes that of which I am being accused."

The news comes less than a week before the start of the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon, and a little more than a month before the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, where Houlihan was expected to contend for a medal. Jerry Schumacher, who coaches Houlihan as part of the Bowerman Track Club, called Houlihan's ban "a great tragedy in the history of American distance running," while also lambasting the international organizations that enact and enforce anti-doping regulations. "Throughout this process we were confident that the truth would lead to justice," he wrote in a letter posted on the club's web site. "What Ive come to learn instead is that anti-doping authorities are okay with convicting innocent athletes so long as nine out of ten convictions are legitimate. That is wrong."

A triple shooting at a DeKalb County grocery store has left a cashier dead and a deputy and the gunman injured. The shooting happened Monday afternoon at the Big Bear grocery store along Candler Road, across the street from South DeKalb Mall. According told Channel 2s Tyisha Fernades, that the incident started when a man walked into the store and refused to put on a mask. I have a friend who works in this store and I think it was her who got shot and its just really sad, witness Marquisha White said. I dont know what the world is coming to -- period. A witness told investigators that the cashier told the man to put on a mask and thats when the chaos unfolded. DeKalb County Sheriff Melody Maddox told Fernandes that investigators are working on a timeline of events, but it appeared that the man who refused to put on the mask shot first. "The deputy returned fire, shooting the suspect who has also been transported to a local hospital, Maddox said.

Fernandes spoke with store owner, who did not give his name. He said he hired and off-duty deputy to help enforce the mask policy at the store. After Mondays triple shooting, he said he may not allow customers to carry any guns inside the store anymore. How come they carry all the guns in a public place like that? he asked, calling the practice bad. People who frequent the store say the gunman is well known at Big Bear and they believe he may have some mental health issues.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/putin-talks-hacking-navalny-capitol-riot-ahead-biden-summit-n1270640

Russian President Vladimir Putin denied ordering a hit on political rival Alexei Navalny, but in an exclusive interview with NBC News he did not guarantee that the jailed Kremlin critic, who survived being poisoned with a nerve agent, would get out of prison alive. "Look, such decisions in this country are not made by the president," Putin said. That was one of several striking moments in Putin's first interview in three years with a U.S. news organization, days ahead of his meeting with President Joe Biden in Geneva. Putin said the U.S. allegations that Russian hackers or the government itself were behind cyberattacks in the U.S. were "farcical," and he challenged NBC News, and by implication the U.S. government, to produce proof that Russians were involved. "We have been accused of all kinds of things," he said. "Election interference, cyberattacks and so on and so forth. And not once, not once, not one time, did they bother to produce any kind of evidence or proof. Just unfounded accusations." Asked about Biden's criticism that Russia had added to global instability, he accused the U.S. of doing the same in Libya, Afghanistan and Syria. And the Russians aren't cracking down on internal dissent, he said, any more than the U.S. is doing with its laws against foreign agents. He even pointed to the arrests of hundreds of suspects in the U.S. Capitol riot and the death of one rioter as proof that the U.S. also targets its citizens for their political opinions, just as Russia is accused of stifling dissent.

"We have a saying: 'Don't be mad at the mirror if you are ugly,'" he said. "It has nothing to do with you personally. But if somebody blames us for something, what I say is, why don't you look at yourselves? You will see yourselves in the mirror, not us." Putin showed flashes of defiance when he was asked whether it was a "coincidence" that several other political rivals had been assassinated in recent years. "We don't have this kind of habit, of assassinating anybody," Putin said when he was asked whether he ordered Navalny killed. The wide-ranging interview began with Putin flatly denying a Washington Post report that Russia was preparing to offer Iran an advanced satellite system that would enable Tehran to track military targets, including the remaining U.S. troops in Iraq. "It's just fake news," he said. "At the very least, I don't know anything about this kind of thing. Those who are speaking about it probably know more about it. It's just nonsense, garbage." Later, Putin rejected allegations flung at Russia, among them that it has interfered in U.S. elections and conducted cyberattacks. "I'm surprised that we have not yet been accused of provoking the Black Lives Matter movement," he said. Asked what he thought about the Black Lives Matter movement, Putin said, "There are some grounds for it." "We have always treated with understanding the fight of African Americans for their rights," said Putin, who added that he couldn't approve of any "extreme" behavior on the part of the movement.

Bill Maher went deep Friday night with blistering words for young people, super-woke folks and Kevin Hart ... diagnosing all of them with a severe case of "progress-o-phobia." Maher -- a take-no-prisoners liberal who is not afraid to call out like-minded individuals who he says go way too far -- lambasts Americans who complain things have never been worse. The 'Real Time' host makes a solid case ... we have achieved progress in race relations, gay rights, drug policies, and on and on, yet there's a sizable contingent who believe we've hit rock bottom.

Bill calls out Kevin Hart in particular, who told the NY Times, "You're witnessing white power and privilege at an all-time high." Maher tears that apart with examples of past atrocities like Tulsa, KKK violence and massive, forced segregation. He's quick to mention ... there's still racism, police violence, the works, but things are better than before. And, this is where B.M. tears into Gen Z, informing them there was actually a world before they were born, yet they are unwilling or unable to contextualize their grievances.

Professional basketball player Kevin Durant is possibly receiving some bad press from a former porn star. Lana Rhoades, on Monday, June 7, admitted that she had recently made a trip to New York and a Brooklyn Nets player put her up in a skybox at the Barclays Center with a few of her friends. She claimed that this player had also brought a backup date. On the 3 GIRLS 1 KITCHEN podcast as per Apple Podcasts, a show for the internet age. Filled to the brim with not only food, but a recipe for disaster Rhoades did not take the name of the Nets player who invited her for dinner. However, she claimed that this person in question was a Libra, and reportedly, the only Libra on the Brooklyn Nets roster is Durant he was born on September 29, 1988.

On Mondays episode of her podcast, she said, "The guy who invited me also invited one of the other girls and this isnt the first time that this has happened to me, that where Ive been invited on a date and they also invite a backup option. Rhoades added in the podcast that the player was boring so much so that she had to leave. "We ended up leaving dinner, not because of that situation because, at that point, youre already friend-zoned, I dont give a f**k who youre talking to, the date was really boring I dont want to be mean but me and this guy just didnt click and Im like whats your favorite this, whats your opinion on this, and he was just like, I dont have opinions on anything, I dont have favorite anythings."

Mayoral front-runner Eric Adams said rival candidate Andrew Yang is a racist for pushing claims that the Brooklyn borough president actually lives in a New Jersey apartment and not in the Bedford-Stuyvesant row home he calls his primary residence. How dare Andrew Yang say a retired [NYPD] captain, a state senator, a borough president, significant other is an educator, we cant have two homes? Adams said Friday at a Staten Island campaign event, referring to his own resume and that of his girlfriend, who co-owns the Garden State address.

He has two homes. So you dont see the hint of racism in that that I cant have two homes? Adams said, referring to Yangs New Paltz, NY, vacation home, where he spent the pandemic with his family. Yes I have two homes and yes I live in Brooklyn. Thats my only response to that. I live in Brooklyn, I dont live in New Paltz. My success allowed me to have two homes and Im proud of that and Im not apologizing for that, Adams said, surrounded by mostly black supporters while receiving the endorsement of City Councilwoman Deborah Rose (D-Staten Island).

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/10/third-member-of-prestigious-fda-panel-resigns-over-approval-of-biogens-alzheimers-drug.html

A third member of a key Food and Drug Administration advisory panel has resigned over the agencys controversial decision to approve Biogens new Alzheimers drug, Aduhelm, CNBC has learned. Dr. Aaron Kesselheim, a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, said the agencys decision on Biogen was probably the worst drug approval decision in recent U.S. history, according to his resignation letter obtained by CNBC. At the last minute, the agency switched its review to the Accelerated Approval pathway based on the debatable premise that the drugs effect on brain amyloid was likely to help patients with Alzheimers disease, he wrote in resigning from the FDAs Peripheral and Central Nervous System Advisory Committee. He wrote it was clear to him that the agency is not presently capable of adequately integrating the Committees scientific recommendations into its approval decisions.

This will undermine the care of these patients, public trust in the FDA, the pursuit of useful therapeutic innovation, and the affordability of the health care system, he said. Shares of Biogen surged 38% on Monday after the FDA approved the biotech companys drug, the first medication cleared by U.S. regulators to slow cognitive decline in people living with Alzheimers and the first new medicine for the disease in nearly two decades. Biogens drug targets a sticky compound in the brain known as beta-amyloid, which scientists expect plays a role in the devastating disease. The FDA approved the drug under a program called accelerated approval, which is usually used for cancer medications, expecting the drug would slow the cognitive decline in Alzheimers patients. The agency granted approval on the condition that Biogen conducts another clinical trial. The agencys decision was a departure from the advice of its independent panel of outside experts, who unexpectedly declined to endorse the drug last fall, citing unconvincing data. At the time, the panel also criticized agency staff for what it called an overly positive review of the data.

Kim Jong Un is cracking down on DPRK-pop fans. Amid increasing cultural influence from South Korea, the 37-year-old North Korean leader is imposing harsher penalties on citizens caught listening to perverse K-pop music. The secretive anti-K-pop campaign came to light through internal documents smuggled out of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea (DPRK) by the Seoul-based news source Daily NK, the New York Times first reported Friday. These were then made public by South Korean legislators. The newly slimmed-down DPRK despot had dubbed the southern cultural imports a vicious cancer corrupting North Korean youths attire, hairstyles, speeches, behaviors la the dancing in the 80s movie Footloose but with a much darker bent.

In an apparent bid to launch his own brand of cancel culture, Kim introduced new laws in December stipulating that anyone caught watching or possessing South Korean content could be sentenced to up to 15 years of hard labor. The previous maximum punishment for fans of popular acts such as BTS was five years. If that wasnt harsh enough, K-pop smugglers could even face execution while those caught singing, speaking or writing in a South Korean style could be sentenced to two years at a work camp, per the smuggled documents. This past May, a citizen was killed via firing squad for hawking bootleg South Korean music and other entertainment. This isnt the first time Kim has cracked down on so-called anti-socialist tendencies. This past April, the mushroom-haired dictator infamously outlawed mullets and skinny jeans in an attempt to cut off decadent Western-style fashion trends.

Kate Hudson is getting hot and bothered about her workout routine. Hudson posted a video on Instagram Wednesday to share some exciting news: the WW (formerly Weight Watchers) app just added sex as a workout. Hey, guys. Ive got some really interesting news that Im very excited about right now, the WW ambassador told her followers in the cheeky clip. If anyone needs me, Im going to be in my bedroom for a good, Im going to say, hour-twenty. If he can handle it. Hudson then attempted to calculate how many WW points she could earn with some alone time with partner Danny Fujikawa. According to WWs new Fit App addition, me having sex for an hour-twenty will equal s, Im terrible at math. Six fit points, she determined. See you in two hours.

Sex will burn calories but the number you deplete relies on a few factors, including how many calories you burn on average during any type of physical activity and how frisky you and your partner get. According to several experts who spoke with Womans Day, these are the average number of calories that are burned during sexual activity, based on the bodyweight of a 150-pound woman. Kissing: 68 calories per hour. Making out: 230 calories per half-hour. Massaging: 80 calories per hour. Giving oral sex: 100 calories per half-hour. Using your hands: 100 calories per hour. Having sex: 69 calories on average during a 25-minute session, while men burned 100 calories. Sadly, by comparison, a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine clocked the average session of sexual activity at only about six minutes.

https://www.vice.com/en/article/wx5xpx/hackers-steal-data-electronic-arts-ea-fifa-source-code

Hackers have broken into gaming giant Electronic Arts, the publisher of Battlefield, FIFA, and The Sims, and stole a wealth of game source code and related internal tools, Motherboard has learned. "You have full capability of exploiting on all EA services," the hackers claimed in various posts on underground hacking forums viewed by Motherboard. A source with access to the forums, some of which are locked from public view, provided Motherboard with screenshots of the messages. In those forum posts the hackers said they have taken the source code for FIFA 21, as well as code for its matchmaking server. The hackers also said they have obtained source code and tools for the Frostbite engine, which powers a number of EA games including Battlefield. Other stolen information includes proprietary EA frameworks and software development kits (SDKs), bundles of code that can make game development more streamlined. In all, the hackers say they have 780gb of data, and are advertising it for sale in various underground hacking forum posts viewed by Motherboard.

EA confirmed to Motherboard that it had suffered a data breach and that the information listed by the hackers was the data that was stolen. "We are investigating a recent incident of intrusion into our network where a limited amount of game source code and related tools were stolen," an EA spokesperson told Motherboard in a statement. "No player data was accessed, and we have no reason to believe there is any risk to player privacy. Following the incident, weve already made security improvements and do not expect an impact on our games or our business. We are actively working with law enforcement officials and other experts as part of this ongoing criminal investigation." Along with their forum posts the hackers shared a small selection of screenshots claiming to demonstrate their access to EA data, but did not publicly distribute any of the internal data itself. Instead, the hackers are, at least ostensibly, trying to sell the information.

https://uproxx.com/pop/vanessa-carlton-rappers-thousand-miles-racial-double-standard/

Back in late March, rappers Spinabenz, Whoppa Wit Da Choppa, Yungeen Ace, and FastMoney Goon teamed up on a track called Who I Smoke, which samples Vanessa Carltons classic A Thousand Miles. The track is full of violent lyrics, which apparently upset some of Carltons fans. Now Carlton has responded with a co-sign of the track and some points about race. Carlton tweeted recently, To the white folks that have expressed anger/shock over my approval of A Thousand Miles usage in the Spinabenz, Whoppa Wit Da Choppa, Yungeen Ace, & FastMoney Goon song Who I Smoke, I invite you to ask yourself why you feel this way & then read this. The tweet includes a link to a 2016 academic paper titled Share Cropping Blackness: White Supremacy and the Hyper-Consumption of Black Popular Culture. In a follow-up tweet, she continued, Popular songs accompanied by white violence or tales of white violence arent questioned. Its considered visceral or cinematic. Here we have [Stuck In The Middle With You] playing while a guy gets his ear cut off. Reservoir Dogs

As some commenters have pointed out, however, theres a significant difference between Reservoir Dogs and Who I Smoke, as the latter names a number of rappers and other individuals who were actually killed. As one user put it, The difference is one is Hollywood, and one is real life. I mean dont get me wrong, the song is gas! But also remember, theres multiple dead kids being dissed on in that song and I bet their parents are haunted with this beat.

The Who I Smoke video is the kind of ironic, outlandish content that makes for great social media fodder. Its hard not to gawk at. But a deeper understanding of the lyrics should make most want to turn away in discomfort. The songs title, Who I Smoke, refers to the slang of smokin dead enemies. The phrase smokin on (insert person) pack has assimilated into the internet lexicon to disrespect the likes of Rush Limbaugh, but like so many things in pop culture, it came at the expense of a Black life. Chicago youth coined the term in the early 2010s to joke about a 15-year-old rival who was fatally shot (smoked), allegedly a sick twist on the story that The Outlawz smoked their friend Tupacs ashes. Its on that grisly premise that Who I Smoke lies. The song is a manifestation of a generation that knows nothing else but the internet being a free-for-alland now its their turn. Theyve seen rappers use the digital space to diss their enemies and gain traction for it; theyve seen people use social media to fan the flames of local beef; and theyre thirsty for social media fame.

When you grow up in proximity to an endless cycle of gun violence and want to assert your sides superiority, a common route to attracting viral attention is to get as disrespectful as possible. We saw 50 Cent push limits with his antics vs. Rick Ross in 2009. Many recoiled when Chief Keef joked about the death of Lil JoJo on Twitter in 2012, or when his fellow Chicagoans made songs reeling off the names of dead opps. A couple of years later, the world was captivated by 6ix9ines test my gangster performance, replete with an entire gang set as supporting cast. The Who I Smoke rappers, and some of their young peers, may not know any better than their social media antics, but older fans do. People of a certain age remember the negative elements of the Chicago drill scenes rise. Young suburbanites lived vicariously through Chicago gang violence by using videos and social media to link certain drill artists to gangs. They spectated Twitter arguments and Instagram Live sessions. People who werent even full-time artists became social media stars for their proximity to drill artists. Some made fortunes off pathologizing the kids as savages. The sensationalism tied to the scene hurt their ability to perform in their home city, and served as further impetus for cops to surveil them. Most reactions to whats going on in Jacksonville right now indicate that were already headed down a similar path to what happened in Chicago. Theres been a lot of hysteria about Who I Smoke and Foolios Fantasia-sampling When I See You reply, and theres a whole crop of kids who are enjoying having new real heroes to spectate. There are others gawking at the scene as if they represent a new low for humanity. And a minority is watching the scene with concern, hoping the artists can shake the conditioning of their surroundings and use their talents to lead productive lives. Whatever people end up doing after watching Who I Smoke, the important part for the creators is thatfor better or worsetheyre watching.

One of the videos article is saying might spark violent reaction soon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFfGgeddAc4

https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/mets-pete-alonso-accuses-mlb-of-tweaking-baseball-in-order-to-depress-free-agent-salaries/

New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso accused Major League Baseball of altering the ball's physical properties in order to depress the salaries of free agents on Wednesday. Alonso, who was asked for his thoughts about MLB's crack down on pitchers using foreign substances, dismissed that aspect as a non-factor for him before making his claim. "The biggest concern is MLB manipulates the baseballs year in and year out depending on the free agency class," Alonso told reporters, including Tim Healey of Newsday. Alonso added: "Oh, no, that's a fact. Yes, guys have talked about it. It's not a coincidence. It definitely is something that they did." Alonso pointed to a pair of recent developments as evidence for his claim: the juicing of the ball during the 2019 season, after which seven of the top 10 free agents were pitchers, and the subsequent deadening of the ball this year, ahead of a hitter-heavy free-agent class. Whereas MLB set an impossible number of home run records in 2019, the league as a whole is on pace in 2021 for the lowest batting average and highest strikeout rate in its history.

Whether or not one finds merit in Alonso's conspiracy theory -- and it's reasonable to doubt that MLB is a competent enough organization from top to bottom to pull off such maneuvers -- his willingness to publicize it, and to suggest other players hold the same belief, points to the distrust that exists within clubhouses toward commissioner Rob Manfred and the owners. That's a notable development given that the Collective Bargaining Agreement expires in December, and that the stage appears set for MLB's first work stoppage since the mid-1990s when a strike wiped out the 1994 World Series and ended only after owners brought in replacement players to begin spring training.

Marjorie Taylor Greene has said that she would love to see former President Donald Trump as speaker of the House so he could bring an article of impeachment against President Joe Biden. In an interview on The Water Cooler with David Brody podcast, the controversial freshman lawmaker was asked if she would like to see Mr Trump make a return to Capitol Hill. "Its no secret that I am one of the biggest supporters of President Trump and I proudly say it all the time, Ms Taylor Greene, an ardent Trump supporter who has previously expressed support for QAnon, said. She added: "I would love to see him, whether it is speaker of the House or running for Congress or Republican majority in 2022, electing him speaker of the House. The Georgia representative said she would be "happy for that because she would love to see him bring my articles of impeachment on Joe Biden to the floor.

"Lets get the job done and impeach Joe Biden. And we can follow up with Kamala Harris next, Ms Taylor Greene said. The controversial lawmaker noted that she is all for him running for president again in 2024 before dubbing him the the best president of [her] lifetime.

That toxic masculinity gateway thug Jordan Peterson is back. In case you hadnt noticed. The Canadian psychologist-turned-provocateur has staged a comeback after his life dramatically fell apart a couple of years ago. He put out a book earlier this year, Beyond Order the update to his 12 Rules For Life has been dubbed a ragbag of self-help dictums. And hes back on YouTube, where millions devour his illogical word salads, vague platitudes, and turgid lessons for boys and blokes. Beyond his turn-down-the-bedspread inanities, he insists that the world is hierarchical, with men on top because they are well, better. His latest video revisits his hoary argument that the feminine is represented by chaos. You can see why he has become such a hero to incels and bitter mens rights activists when he says things like: Chaos, the eternal feminine, is also the crushing force of sexual selection. Women are choosy maters This weekend he started up again with the same old bullshit. Why is the feminine represented as chaos? a fan asked. My feminist friends often question that part of your teaching. Peterson snarls back: Well, lets throw something back at your feminist friends. And so it begins. Its a foregone conclusion that the patriarchy is represented with masculine symbols. And it seems an equally foregone conclusion that the patriarchy is order, so if the masculine symbolism is used by feminists themselves to represent order, what is left for the feminine to be represented by? Order? Well thats already taken! And the reason your feminist friends object to it is well, I would say fundamentally theres two reasons: they object to everything and they dont understand it and they dont understand their own behaviour. So you ask them: well why is the masculine represented as order? Then he meanders off into Daoism (Get your feminists to ask the Daoists why yin is feminine?) before saying the feminine throws the masculine into disorder primarily through rejection.

It goes on. And on, and on, and on. And on some more. It boggles the mind that someone with so little logic can be held up as a father figure, philosopher-king, and prophet, let alone one of the worlds greatest thinkers. Calling something a foregone conclusion when its anything but would not cut it in a high school essay. Setting up a patently false binary that if the masculine is represented by order, feminine must be chaos is intellectually fraudulent. Saying feminists object to everything and dont understand their own behaviour is a pathetic and childish taunt with no basis in reality. Deploying ancient Chinese philosophy as a rhetorical flourish is entirely vacuous. And that bit about rejection? No wonder the incels love him. Petersons mission creep from psychologist to self-help guru is audacious and frightening when his humourless pseudo-intellectual babble bolsters the bitterness of the mens rights movement. Thats Peterson. A solemn pronouncer-from-on-high, a mystical wordsmith, a tweed-clad pretender. Like all self-styled sages, hes a bullshit artist.

https://nypost.com/2021/06/09/author-tries-to-cancel-apple-pie-by-linking-it-to-genocide/

A UK newspaper is being accused of trying to cancel apple pie by linking it to slavery and the ongoing genocide of indigenous people. In a lengthy examination in the Guardian, author and scholar Raj Patel lists the ways that people are wrong in assuming that nothing could be more American with even the recipe a ripoff of a British pumpkin pie. He then lists at length the sometimes bloody origins of almost every part of the beloved dish from apples, sugar, and even the gingham cloth it is traditionally served with. In the drama of nationalist culture, the bloody and international origins of the apple pie are subject to a collective amnesia, Patel wrote. The apple pie is as American as stolen land, wealth and labor. We live its consequences today, concluded the author, a research professor in the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas. The article Food injustice has deep roots: lets start with Americas apple pie details how apples came to the West in the 1500s with colonists and their vast and ongoing genocide of Indigenous people. English colonizers then used apple trees as markers of civilization, which is to say property, he wrote. John Chapman, better known as Johnny Appleseed, took these markers of colonized property to the frontiers of US expansion where his trees stood as symbols that Indigenous communities had been extirpated, he wrote.

While the article was published last month, it started going viral this week outraging conservative commentators. I remember when we used to use the phrase the flag, motherhood, and apple pie to signify things about which Americans were unified. It is now an offensive symbol of white supremacy and birthing people,' Ben Shapiro tweeted Tuesday, adding, So I guess were still good with apple pie. Another commentator named John Black wrote, The woke #CancelCulture mob seeks to destroy everything that is American and/or good. Its so absurd it sounds like a parody of #CancelCulture. No such luck, he tweeted. Others joked about imaginary complaints people could have with the sweet treat. And what about people with gluten sensitivity? Apple pie is glutenist AF! one person joked.
