I know the feeling... we've been doing similiar to 4 feral kittens and the mother for over a month now. They're currently about 11 weeks and already got 2 of the 3 females fixed/clipped, the third is to return tomorrow.

Gonna keep one as a pet, the others will free roam due to being feral, but I've gotten them to the point where I'm the only person they let approach/touch em. I call them little heartbreakers.

I don't know what it was called as it's been 20 or so years. Once tried some drink from Japan on offer in the Atlanta Coca Cola museum/place.

It was honey and lemon with possibly something else. I was not prepared. It was exactly like some medicine I had months prior and still haunts me.

Its a big combo of people not knowing the difference between all the terms, being misinformed to begin with and just not caring because they hate guns.

Then you get those guys in the middle, who are either an asshole or are overcompensating for their insecurities that try to pick apart everything someone says to "Ackshully" them. These are the losers that freak out when someone says "auto pistol" or "silencer" or call a cartridge a bullet. I usually totally ignore these fucks or triple down and find the slightest fuck up they make in terminology and go absolutely ham on it.

On the flip side you get the horseshoe effect where people know enough about guns, that when they talk to others they will say things like automatic or use incorrect terms casually because they know that the person they are talking to is not an asshole or an idiot and understands what they are talking about. So its not a big deal.
Yeah I know about the super serious folk. lol
It slightly bothers me, but it's mostly whatever. Unless the person is vehemently using the wrong term/explanation and trying to act like an expert/pro and only spreading misinformation. Then it kinda pisses me off because it's obvious and only further confusing.
One example is when a gatling/minigun is called a chain gun. A chain gun is just a single barrel that uses a literal chain drive to cycle the bolt vs using gas/recoil. I blame Doom and other video games.

I was once explaining the SKS and stripper clips. Then got interrupted with "it's a magazine!!" only to respond "it's internal magazine can be reloaded with a stripper clip... or your hand". Corrected my correcter because they were so jumpy to correct.
-
Edit: Just remembered the vid a few months ago that was finally getting to me after 10-15 minutes of some guy's expertise and why I mentioned my dislike of people using it vehemently. When it comes to machine guns there's LSW, LMG, GPMG/MMG, and HMG. Guy was repeatedly pushing that lmg/gpmg's were heavy machine guns to a point I was getting pissed. This was someone claiming to be an expert on the matter.
For the record the PKM, M60, M249, and MG3 are not heavy machine guns despite being machine guns that are heavy.

That is semi-automatic. AK-47s in the US are almost all semi-automatic. Automatic AK-47s are rare in the US.
Hell, I've handled and fired a semi-automatic RPK a few years ago. RPK is literally just an AK-47 with a reinforced receiver, longer/heavier barrel, and different stock. It's the LSW (light support weapon) variant.

It's also entirely possible people are mixing up the word automatic. There's semi-automatic rifles/handguns that are often called automatic. 1911 for example is an automatic pistol, but very rarely will you ever come across one with full auto capabilities. They also don't sell full auto rifles for hunting in Academy's/Dick's for 200-300 usd despite having the word automatic in the name. It's just to denote that the action isn't bolt, lever, or manual and it cycles for you.

I debated on posting this, but decided I may as well since I've personally never seen/experienced this upclose so others might be curious. As a bonus I'll toss in one that's a heart melter.

This is the bigger fluffier one at the top center of my original post of them. You can actually see roughly how far the tip originally was due to the long hairs ghosting the phantom tip. Over all I'd say they faired ok considering I've seen images of half or more of the ear removed. The other is similiar.

And this was shortly after... different perspective and where her untouched sister was grooming her and keeping her company.

People don't own fully-automatic weapons legally.

I don't get the point of this topic.
Some do, but the process of getting there is long and pricey.

Did you know you can own a fully functional M79 grenade launcher or an M59/66 with grenade launcher system? You can even fire HE rounds from them, but it's about a 250 dollar tax per grenade plus the cost of the grenade and you can only fire them at a special location. The M59/66 doesn't require any special permits... it's just part of the gun, but good luck finding one that hasn't been removed. Plus illegal in CA.

I wouldn't advise trying to use the rifle grenade on the Yugo SKS though... you have to use a blank round and might blow yourself up in the process, so it's mostly a glorified tennis ball launcher.

Aww thanks for the update.. do you think mother is pregnant again? Might be why she was a bit cold towards them. I'd say the other kitten just needs time, they all seem to vary in how quickly they get back to normal after being fixed.
It took more than a day, but the mother is back to treating them like the other 2. Leading them around and teaching them stuff. It's possible she's already pregnant again, but hard to tell atm. We were mostly concerned because they were being avoided/hissed at, still small, and unable to locate them. Add in the fact there's raccoons trying to get em.

Usually when you get a cat neutered/spayed you're supposed to keep them relatively isolated/safe, not let them climb trees and run all over the yard. Hate to do it, but monday or so gotta deal with the other female, maybe the mother too.

Furrball has the couch on lock down. Didn't mention it, but she was in a near death state... again, a few weeks ago. She's on the road to kidney/liver/pancreas failure due to age, so it's nothing out of the ordinary.

--Sadness warning--

The 2 feral kittens returned, for anyone who wanted to know the result. They only lost about 10-14% of their ear length wise, not so bad. The place said they were absolute sweet hearts and couldn't believe how well they behaved. Which only makes the current situation make us feel worse.

The mother is hissing and smacking them in the face repeatedly, even though they seem to recognize her and try to be friendly. Hopefully it's just some sort of disciplinary action as she's not directly aggressive/attacking them otherwise, just seems to have either forgotten they're hers after 1 day due to scents or decided she's done with them.

The bigger fluffy one seems to have already mostly recovered in terms of behavior, she's socializing and playing with the other 2 as if nothing's wrong. The female tabby that was meant to go was grooming her as if sensing her sister was hurt.

The smaller tabby is literally pushing me towards cry town. She's the smallest and most lethargic so you already feel pity. Then considering the fact she got scooped up and placed in a strange container twice, then sent to get cut up. Comes back to get seemingly disowned by her mother and littermates, left to curl up into a sad little ball all alone and confused what she did wrong. She's had a rough 1.5 days.

I just sat next to her and just stroked her head/back for a while on seperate occasions. She lifts her head towards the incoming petting and seems to really appreciate it. Haven't actually seen her for about 5-6 hours now, so hopefully she's just resting/asleep.

Edit: She's ok, opened the door to scare off a raccoon that's determined to get them. All 5 cats were suddenly present and close, looking up at me. :| I'm gonna have to stay up all night in basically silence so I can listen to and check on them.

She looks regal, fitting her age! That's awesome that you have given a feral such a long life. How do you think she'll do with the voidling?
Not sure. We did at one point take in a cat that was obviously completely abandoned by her previous owners (or she decided to abandon them). Furrball kept doing hit and runs for a while by smacking with a paw, before settling on just glaring. Yeah, that's her name... she had much longer fur when younger and decided to troll me, but she still has fairly soft/dense fur. I mean I just held her last night for 2 minutes and basically had a kitten's worth of fur on my clothes.

This time I suspect she'll mostly just hiss and be offended at an intruder. They're very much aware of each other through the door and have seen each other. She seems to be jealous and claiming my lap or blocking the door more.

You can't see it in that picture, but he's also got a white spot on his sternum. I especially worry for him, because I know for a fact we have superstitious folks around here that kill black cats, or did at least.

Slight update on the feral kittens outside. I feel like a total and utter monster having collected 2 of them this morning. The small one on the far left and the big fluffy one on the top center. I went for the one on the bottom center initially, but she's so flighty she kicked off my arm and left scratches in my wrist. I'll have to catch her another time.
They'll be back tomorrow, missing the tip of their ear and ability to have kittens.

We chose this route, because no one would adopt em. We either had to take them to a shelter to be put down, let 3 female cats explode into even more kittens, or let them exist in the area hunting vermin as pseudo-pets.

Extra note, the black kitten's ear won't be trimmed, as we'll take a more standard route.

Really small, and I mean small, beetles. I'd hazard a guess at about 2mm, spotted like a mini lady bug. Their larva are 2-3 times the adult size and have fuzzy brush butts, and usually black/grey.

They basically feed on the skin/dust/fibers in/on carpet/clothing and can explode in numbers. They don't really do any major harm, such as biting, but to get rid of em you basically have to burn the structure down.

They're pretty annoying, and we/I have em.

Yes, that 3.5~ inch thing is her entire tail, it sticks close to her thigh so it looks like she lacks one. Those guides/tips on how to read a cat's mood based on their tail don't really work. Instead it just wags slightly at various speeds. Slow = annoyed, fast = mad/really excited. It's both adorable and pitiful when she tries to curl it around your leg, because she can't.

She too was a feral kitten.

I don't know if this technically counts, since they're not official pets. Though I doubt many of you would mind an image of innocence.

They're feral because the feral mother decided to bring them over to us a month ago, however they've grown to trust me enough. Probably gonna keep the one on the far right officially, because he's far too good of a cat. Can't say I've had too many feral cats lick my hand/arm in affection and actually paw at me to hold them. The others will be fixed/trimmed/returned. They're about 10 weeks old in this image.

Reminds me of a bodycam video that was a bit questionable.

Had a black suspect hiding in a shower bathtub. Two officers enter with a k-9. The one officer finds the guy in the shower, knows he's there and they both take about a full minute to get the dog to notice and finally bite him out of the shower. Guy was just crouched/still as if wondering 'wtf' as the officers repeatedly try to get the dog to attack.

To add to this, even the dog seemed confused.

Secondly, if you are just going to fuck in full view of all the other prisoners then what's the point of cutting a hole in your pants? Wouldn't it just be easier to pull them down?
Probably faster/stealthier due to other guards/cameras.

If a camera or another guard/officer sees her mucking around with her pants it'd raise a flag. Depending on where it was located it'd probably be easier to do a quickie through the bars and act like nothing happened if anyone came remotely close.

I remember a TV show about a prison with a weird round room like in guardians of the galaxy, with a central guard station able to see clear into every cell and how the inmates had to find clever ways to do it in plain view since it wasn't allowed.

Someone must of gotten fed up with them, because they started dropping like flies due being poisoned. Then it came down to just 2 black cats. One died around Halloween a few years later, the other endured by becoming someone's pet and hiding inside.
