I still remember the first time I ever encountered one in fo3.

I'm walking near a blown out house structure with dogmeat. Dogmeat starts to growl so I turn to the dog, see the direction they're growling, turn and like 4 feet away tops I see "that".

Still not as bad as the time Dogmeat launched an oil drum down the hallway and the physics/sound gave me a near heartattack.

Hard to say. The problem is most other times they do this garbage, there's so little other options that jumping ship and making it clear the redesign is garbage rarely happens.
Not saying Gfaqs is on the way out. But gutting features and making it drastically different for essentially the sake of making it different tends to go hand in hand with "It's streamlined and fast"

Probably because there's nothing there. It's not the first, and sadly won't be the last.

I swear the rounded edges conspiracy is getting out of hand.

I don't mind it in some places, but it's taken over too much for the sake of it. Is there seriously some sort of consumer safety where users are getting hurt/injured on a 90 degree angle of pixels?

Firefox users now have rounded tabs/icons, now this... and I see windows 10 is gonna incorporate rounded windows. The list goes on.

Compact is still an option for me, but it's marked as unsupported. They better not get rid of that.

On Windows 10, the title bar no longer matches the accent colour you've set when using the default theme, and is now either white or black. Not a problem on Windows 8.1. So annoying.
Compact is tucked away in the about:config, and was apparently dropped in the past, before appearing there. So it's fate is unknown according to even an employee.

After using it for a few hours, it's not 'so bad' but I still dislike the size/design of the tabs in general, the nav bar/toolbar is also just weird due to the contrasts. I also noticed the randomly very bold blue border that surrounds a text field when focused. You'll see it on some, but not all.

Besides that, I feel the context menu and the bookmark/history etc menus are spaced out slightly too much.

Those are my only real gripes... minor in the grand scheme of things, but such wasted screen real estate in places.

It is, that's why things like world of tanks/warships, war thunder use the Iron Cross instead. It was still used by the wehrmacht and is allowed, but the swastika is illegal.

Hell, Forza Motorsport 6 removed the SS badges on Chevrolets because of a similiar concern, though it was never confirmed. However, seeing as they ban people for having a rising sun design on their car while having a vinyl base that looks like one already... then it's probably true.

Don't work for me, I assume because it's desktop/PC. I got normal or touch to make it even bigger.

I'm looking at the complaints on the firefox reddit and apparently they removed compact. Also others are upset/bothered by the war on borders/contrast too. I keep thinking the navigation bar is part of the site it's so low/hard to find.

I don't mind some of the changes, such as consolidating some of the prompts/pop-ups or tweaking some stuff. But, good god I feel like it's crushing downward on the actual web content.

I don't have any extensions or settings expanding the toolbar area, just the window/tab space and the navigation bar row. It's easily 60-80% bigger than before.

I love how they even excuse this by saying it's to further let you know you can move tabs around... and maybe cram more control icons in there. I think my biggest gripe is that the window header/tab row is thicc for basically no reason. I can't wait until 90% of my screen is the browser telling me what page I'm viewing and 8% is pocket stories.

Still not the most intrusive overlay ad I've seen. I forget what channel it was, but they were trying to promote Mortal Engines at the time, and the overlay covered half the movie, rolled in from the side and was very animated to the point it literally lagged/stuttered itself and the movie. It wasn't just once, it happened every single time it got to that frame... and they pushed it at least 8-10 times that I saw.

It's doable solo even on hard, though you're not supposed to start on hard. You're supposed to start on normal, and then increase it after 2 or so refreshes.

It's a fairly challenging game regardless, but becomes easier as you progress due to unlocking traits that increase your damage, critical damage, etc. You obtain traits via story progression or by getting lucky and getting a world spawn. Last I played it, even hard was a bit easy. Though they keep radically changing things, or least did.

It can be satisfying for what it is, but there's some absurdly difficult fights depending on your gear. Speaking of gear, don't go upgrading 1 thing pointlessly. Upgrade your preferred weapons and armor as evenly as possible, as an easy mistake is to raise your weapon to +8 asap for example, but your armor is +1. It causes enemies to force scale up and your armor becomes worthless.

Also tossing this in. It can be enjoyable, but gets a bit repetitive/predictable. The first few runs are interesting, especially when you regenerate the world and see how its layout changes.

The dashboard can't be reflective/chrome or have pointy/edged bits anymore, because they blind drivers or in some cases potential impalement.

There's really only so much you can do with the displays... I guess they could improve them, but some still struggle to get the basics right. I don't expect to be gaming on a car's display.

One thing I'd try is to take a stud finder, if you have it, and run it vertically and try to find out if there's a horizontal brace/stud there. Hopefully you just hit a metal stud bracket, but it's really hard to tell.

Normally you have the vertical studs, but between them you'll find random horizontal ones. I ran into this issue last year after delicately measuring and marking studs, only to be cockblocked by half an inch by one.

From what I've heard the suspect opened fire and caused it, but that was from someone repeating it from another source, from another source. So hell if I know it's true. Still a shame.

It does remind me of some footage I watched about 2-3 years ago, where a man with a knife was terrorizing an area. Police showed up, kept people away, but there was an older woman on a bench in the area unable to get up on her own fast enough. Police were too hesitant and used less lethal beanbag/rubber from a shotgun. Guy managed to get close enough to stab and kill the lady as they switched to using lethal rounds.

Too hasty or harsh, they're bad. Too slow or leniant, they're bad.

It depends. I forget which era, but they did have a very complicated and fancy cupholder that deployed. It'd cost a few hundred or thousands to fix. Some also have hydraulic windows, which is a fortune to fix as well.
Either way the main advice for getting a used Mercedes is that they can turn into money pits fast. It's kinda like the Chrysler Crossfire that was around briefly. Only a 30-35k or so Chrysler, but it uses a Mercedes sourced V6, so maintence isn't normal Chrysler. Also used special low profile tires which were expensive at the time.

That high number wasn't specifically for one part, but rather taken from various sources pointing out why you see them so cheap. Because they can become money pits.
