WRONG.
I don't care how many anime tapes you've watched, how many Japanese girlfriends you've had, or books you've read, you don't know Japanese. Not only that, majoring in the godforsaken language is NOT fun or even remotely sensible. Iraqi war prisoners are often forced to major in Japanese. The term "Holocaust" comes from the Latin roots "Holi" and "Causem", meaning "to major in Japanese". You get the idea.

It looks good though. There's a limited number of balls so it's not like a typical shooter. I can see team based games getting heavy stressful. Seems like a fun diversion for a few months at least.

I'd rather nintnendo take risks like on weird concepts like this. They're the only ones who do at this point outside of indie studios. Plus it's how we got Splatoon.

The monk guy was such a fantastic addition to the franchise. The idea of force sensitive people that aren't formally trained as Jedi or sith really could have used expanding. It's a shame that concept ended up in a largely forgettable filler movie.

Smash Brothers is the only fighting game, ignoring the debate about that particular label, that consistently has a large online player base this long after release. Heres what I think I know. J. J. wrote Episode VII, as well as drafts for VIII & IX. Then Rian Johnson arrived and wrote The Last Jedi entirely. I believe there was some sort of general consensus on the main lines of the trilogy, but apart from that, every director writes and realizes his film in his own way. Rian Johnson and J. J. Abrams met to discuss all of this, although Episode VIII is still his very own work. I believe Rian didnt keep anything from the first draft of Episode VIII.

Why is every anime game an arena fighter?

Cc2 and bandai namco have been shitting out the same game for decades using what is basically the FIFA model. It's basically their whole business. They get hold of a popular anime franchise, dig up the old engine they've been using for years, and then pump out a game with minimal effort. If it's a successful long running franchise they can do that every year or two perpetually.
