I've been to Las Vegas twice - once as a kid (spent more time there, it was cool and I remember the Nile ride at the Luxor) and once as an adult when driving across the country (was less cool when you realize everything got converted to adult clubs and they got rid of the Nile ride >_>). A Russian ice cream maker has been accused of promoting homosexuality after using a rainbow on its packaging.
The head of Russia's official Union of Women said the image amounted to "propaganda" for gay and lesbian relations in a video conference with President Vladimir Putin.

Homosexuality was decriminalised in Russia in 1993, but those deemed to be promoting "homosexual behaviour among minors" face fines of up to 500,000 roubles ($7,000).

"They're quietly promoting these nice rainbow colours, using nice words, they're advertising an ice cream called Rainbow," Yekaterina Lakhova, who is also a former MP, told the Russian president.

This, Ms Lakhova added, could potentially make Russian children more accepting of the rainbow flag used by the LGBTQ community.

She also urged Mr Putin to defend what are known among conservatives in Russia as "traditional values".

They include the definition of marriage as a union between a man and a woman, which is to be enshrined in the Russian Constitution following a recent public vote that also paves the way for Vladimir Putin to seek two more terms of office.
In a later interview, Ms Lakhova said: "I don't like the rainbow, just as I don't like the swastika."

In response to Ms Lakhova, President Putin said: "If there are reasons to believe that this is propaganda for values that are not traditional to us, then it must be managed by society, but not aggressively."

He added that he had no objections to homosexuality, only to its "propaganda".
At the same meeting, President Putin criticised the US embassy in Moscow for displaying the rainbow flag recently, saying that the symbol said "something about those who work there".

Homophobia is rife in Russia and, after the flag was displayed, conservative activists placed a similar one on the pavement outside the US embassy for passers-by to wipe their feet on.

The authorities in Russia have been accused of tolerating anti-gay abuse, and there have been allegations of particularly cruel purges in the North Caucasus region of Chechnya.

The ice-cream maker embroiled in the row said the rainbow on its packaging had nothing to do with LGBT rights.

"Our company advocates traditional family relations, and categorically disagrees with Ms Lakhova. We believe that the rainbow is sunlight after the rain, not the LGBT flag," said Armen Beniaminov, who is vice-president of Chistaya Liniya.
"As the father of a large family, I openly voted for the constitutional amendments specifically because one of them defends the traditional values," he told official news agency RIA Novosti.

Ms Lakhova's claims that ice cream is being used to promote homosexuality has caused an uproar on Russian media.
The popular daily Moskovsky Komsomolets sarcastically suggested that the rainbow must now be banned from appearing after it rains in Russia, and that the Defence Ministry may be drafted in to fight any rogue rainbows. "Otherwise children will see them!" the paper warned.

A popular Twitter user jokingly demanded that light dispersion be banned in Russia because "it puts homosexual innuendo into normal sunlight".

Journalist Andrei Loshak took a much more serious view of the situation, accusing Putin of trying to use homophobia "as an effective populist tool".

"Someone tell him that times have changed" and Russians are more accepting of gay rights, Mr Loshak wrote on Facebook.

Opinion polls have shown improving attitudes to LGBT rights in Russia. A poll in 2019 suggested that 47% of Russians supported equal rights for gay and lesbian people, with 43% against.

Because a doctor might have heard of four or five drugs that cure one thing, but the company that put money into marketing the drug to you also put money into marketing that drug to doctors to make it stand out more, so they're just as likely to trust it as you are.

Should be noted that even with Amazon Prime you don't get access to ALL their digital video offerings, just stuff marked Prime, and a lot of stuff is still locked behind paywalls and third-party channel subscriptions.

Also the music service is pretty lackluster. With Prime you get a good amount of content but again not *all* the content unless you pay for an additional sub.

Honestly I think the most impressive fringe benefit of Prime is the free photo storage.

The videos are cool but I don't watch a lot of original Amazon programming, and it's definitely not why I have Prime.

There was a big sale on Steam a month ago. I tried playing Tomb Raider 1... it hasn't aged well.

Anniversary is a remake on the engine for Legend and Underworld, so you might try that out if you want the classic game with slightly better graphics and more intuitive controls.

It didn't feel like the same game though for some reason. Maybe it's because I was a kid when the original and 2 came out but I remember them having different level set-ups and harder enemy encounters.

What's wrong with Scientology

• They perpetrated a massive breach of government at many levels in order to obstruct investigations and even destroy evidence in cases being made against the organization.
• There are tons of reports that the leader of it is extremely sadistic.
• It's exploitative in nature and serves to isolate its members from their family and friends while convincing them to spend tons of money on a sham "self-help" program.
• Its members have actively harassed former members who try to speak out against it.

It's hard to classify it as a religion when the central tenets weren't even available to the majority of its members for the longest time, and it doesn't help that the founder was a science fiction novelist.

Found an adorable tiny kitten that we absolutely must adopt (as long as she's not FIV positive), but I don't know how it's going to affect our ability to find places to live since most apartments I've found in the past have like a 2 pet maximum.

Right now we live in a house we own so it's not a problem but if/when we move it might be an issue.

• Play on the absolute hardest difficulty because once you get good (and you will), it becomes a little more monotonous.
• Factor in spells to your gameplay, they can all be pretty useful in one way or another.
• IIRC you can find recipes for bombs and potions and stuff in random chests/barrels so loot everything in dungeons.

I've never had such bad luck outside of one other game, Tomb Raider: Chronicles, on that haunted island level. There was this big gap with a rope you had to jump and grab on to and I kept screwing it up and hitting "load" but one time I hit "save" instead and overwrote my one save game... every time I loaded after that it was just Lara screaming and a sickening thud.

... Whoa. So this guy had snuck up on me and started blasting me from behind so everyone else started shooting at me and I died... restarted from checkpoint, it loaded me at the moment when that first guy was investigating me in the bushes and I was able to pull out the pistol and shoot him before he got a shot off. That is the weirdest timing for an auto-save.

Doing some early morning Sniper Elite 4, restarted the first mission on the Authentic difficulty which is hard as hell and my accuracy is probably going to be like 1% but it's fun >_>

I hope they let you change it. I had no problem with Origins but in Odyssey I just felt like an insect in the world and it was really disorienting and off-putting.
