For anyone interested in guru/contest leaderboard stuff, @azuarc made a great spreadsheet that allows people to see the guru standings based on who wins every remaining match, and then I did some of my own trial and error to see who was most likely to be the winner:

Thank you both. I've always been fascinated by guru eliminations, but never bothered to dip into actually solving the elimination problem. But since someone already does that, I decided I'd be satisfied with being able to see "what if" and I figured others might feel the same. I'm glad it seems to be working since the response I expected was "it's broken because XXX."

Please let me know if there are errors. I've never shared a spreadsheet before and locked all but a small part of it down, and I'm sure I made some clerical errors since I manually entered all that data. (Anyone who participates in VGMC will tell you how reliable my data entry skills are.)

Woke up this morning inspired to add on to this. Now you can also pick specific results for specific matches. I didn't really do it the "right" way, as someone who once studied computer science, and exotic results aren't available, but hopefully I didn't screw anything up.

DH is like rez priest -- feels bad to play against, but it's a lot of fun when you're the one piloting. (It's nowhere near as bad to play against as rez priest, though, so I don't feel bad for the opponent.)

Played battlegrounds for the first time since the expansion. Had a good game with Finley -> Nozdormu. Got 3rd place. Then I tanked hard on the next two and quit. Being able to only choose between two heroes is awful, and I fell into a trap with each based on the hero power I was saddled with. (To be fair, I don't think I had any alternate routes to play those warbands, either.)

The original "all phase mix," well before Blue Reflection came around. Thank you for not putting this in the bottom quartile. This was the first retiree I helped the board discover, and a lot of people have since taken a dump on it. Kael'thas nerf is way too little. The problem isn't demon hunter; it's druid. Both in standard and wild, druid does absurd things with a slew of 0 mana spells (some of which generate mana) along with really expensive card draw to just vomit their entire deck at you at once. Remember when people used to hate on miracle rogue? Kael'thas druid feels a billion times worse. I honestly don't care about the DH deck that runs him. I want the druid variants castrated.

Oh, I definitely need to be questioned sometimes. It was valid to wonder if you weren't part of that discussion. No, chat was positively blowing up last night. They'd been going at it for almost an hour before I finally ducked my head in from the game I was playing. Took another 30 minutes for me to make sense of what was going on and finally make a decision.

Actually, I think GTAV wins sort of comfortably against P4G from what we say yesterday. I'd be more worried about Portal 2/RDR2 (too close to call yet) and DS/TLOU (also too close to call yet).

I never count Persona out on this website. The only reason it's not in my bracket is because I thought people wouldn't regard P4G as P4 with upside.

Is Distant Sky/Zadok really contested, though? I mean, bluenugget's late vote to tie it up was clearly too late.

Someone else came to discord to argue that they would have voted between 9:52 and 10:00, but believed the match was over.

Due to a lack of clarity on situations that have not appeared previously, two of yesterday's matches will need to be re-run. While Confronting Myself clearly won its match, the other two are contested and need to be resettled.

For future reference, all matches begin at 10:00 or when the topic is posted, whichever occurs later.

There was also some discussion in Discord after the match as to whether Zadok is even eligible for the contest. It's a unique situation and I probably would have nixed it pre-contest, but it's here now and I'm not going to toss it. Sorry, Nilin.

11 point deficit. So it looks like I need:
Portal 2 to win this round and next. (Fine.)
Dark Souls to beat The Last of Us. (Also fine.)
Persona 4 to not win at the hands of GTA5. (ERROR! ERROR!)

If this turns out the way I think it will, Jona's going to beat me by 1. Fixing literally any mistake could have rectified this situation. That hurts. Especially when I talked myself out of SK > UT, which would have been the 2 points I needed. But Jona's had a masterful R2, while I've been getting nickel and dimed each day. Or maybe KH will just win now and put me out of my misery.

Try having Red Dead next round, too. But yeah, I've had absolutely nothing break my way since R2 began. From tied for 3rd to 85th place on the back of 5 R2 losses in 4 days. (Granted, I had Undertale in one of those.)

Sac Pact will probably be changed to only affect a friendly demon. That is, after all, the design of the card. It's right there in the name.

Kael'thas fix is simple. "The third spell you play this turn is free." That way you get one big free spell, but there's no spamming of 0-cost spells just to crank out three pyroblasts or inner demons or ultimate infestations.
