But I enjoy the weapon system for the most part. Because it feels so liberating to literally throw weapons when I'm done with them. And it also plays into the theme of the game which involves living off the land and taking what you can find. I also enjoy taking weapons from enemies.

If weapons never broke, there would probably only be a couple dozen places in the whole game where you can find a weapon (assuming there aren't duplicates because why would there be if each one never breaks?) and everybody would only ever use one weapon once they find a good one. Every weapon you have would become pointless the second you find a stronger one. You probably wouldn't be able to throw weapons either, and you probably wouldn't be able to take enemy weapons either. It would completely change the style of the game. Maybe in the sequel this would be appropriate. But in BOTW would be a completely different game and I think it might be worse.

The only major problem with the weapon system in botw is that you have to stop the action to enter a menu each time you need to change weapons, but that also happens each time you need to change shiekah power or arrow types also

I was watching a video about a company called High Voltage which was working with Nintendo to draft a family-friendly shooting game with robots using water guns around 2013, before splatoon was announced.

Somebody in the company was disgruntled with High Voltage's working conditions, so they leaked some info about their collaboration with Nintendo. Nintendo got cold feet and left after the company couldn't verify who had leaked the info so early into development.

Somebody at the company said in 2018 "This happened 7 years ago, and the company is a third the size with 80-90% turnover since then, and the fallout still weighs on the studio"

"child-friendly cartoons but disturbing" was a meme in 2010 when Dolan was popular, putting Goofy/donald/pluto/mickey into disturbing situations. I'm sure it was done before that as well.

In late 2018 somebody started making Lovecraftian garfield and it blew up and people haven't shut up about it ever since.

This is just more of the same, it's from some guy who started drawing these soon after the garfield meme blew up.

Basically every subreddit community has marked political leanings. Even including the default subreddits. Even the ones that don't officially endorse anybody.

In general for the main news communities, Reddit is steadfastly pro-Bernie. He has a subreddit which is putting things onto the front page of the site almost every day now. I would be surprised if it were organic, especially given how easily manipulable Reddit is known to be.

I run with a galaxy S8 in my pocket, it's not even a big phone by modern standards. It's 5.8 inches, there are phones that are actually pushing SEVEN inches now, and the smallest flagships you can get from major manufacturers today are like 6 to 6.3 inches at least.

Running with this thing in my pocket has it flopping around violently against my leg, coming out the bottom of the shorts, etc. I have to wear special running shorts with shallow pockets and a zipper to keep it from flailing around too much, or buy one of those armbands to hold the phone there. It's goddamn annoying and unwieldy.

That's a good point, but it could easily be fixed if the bot would also simply post the context where the word was used. The users can delete their posts but they can't delete the bot quoting them.

If I were making this bot I would have it post links and quotes from two or three of their most recent examples for a user. I would probably censor the n-word in the bot's post and might only post the sentence it was used in (so the quote doesn't take up too much space). I would play around with it to see what works best.

But currently it doesn't work so well because it doesn't give any way to discriminate between genuinely hurtful uses of the word and discussions of it (or quotes, or other examples like the admin listing a banned subreddit which had the word in its name)

Edit: also I would add that if the user deletes a post after the bot has posted a link to it, it probably means it wasn't an innocent use of the word. So the bot might not even need to quote the user at all. If the post it quotes isn't hateful then I don't see why the user would delete it

Not everybody is going to censor quotes or censor the word while discussing it.

The point is that sometimes when people post the uncensored n-word it isn't because they're using it as a pejorative. So if it doesn't present any context, this bot isn't very informative.

True, it's just I was talking to a few of these young 20somethings and I think there was some trend where 80s culture was "in" again.

It kind of is yeah, but I think that's largely driven by how much 80s content they're feeding us in movies. Things like Stranger Things (set in 1984) play a big part in it.

It's because the people who grew up in the 80s are currently old enough to have wedged their way into the music/film industries a decent amount. And now they are making movies about the age of their childhoods.

In 10 to 15 years there will be an abundance of movies about the 90s. Later still there'll be movies about the 2000s

But something that you CAN directly control, like not eating until your stomach ruptures is a different story. You live with this condition and you know that no matter how much you eat, it wont help at all. So you know when to stop. Unless it is paired with a mental deficiency where they dont know any better.

First of all, people are born with this condition so they have it as CHILDREN when they don't have the autonomy or intelligence to regulate their diets.

Second; people with Prader willi have mental handicaps.

Third; if it's already hard for people WITHOUT this condition to deal with their appetites--and those people know their hunger and cravings don't mean they need to eat. Imagine how dumb it is to say to somebody WITH PW "just stop lol."

Next, are you gonna tell somebody with Tourette syndrome to "just stop" with their tics?

Somebody with Prader Willi cannot have unfettered access to food, it needs to be locked down.
