A good mid-range phone can offer like 80 to 90% the features and value of a high-end flagship phone, but the high-end ones cost 200 to 300% the price of the mid-range ones. Is the extra $500-$800 worth it for some features that only somewhat enhance the phone compared to mid-range? In reality, once you have the phone in your hand, you probably won't really care whether it has the features of mid-range or high-end. They aren't drastically different nowadays.

From Galaxy's upcoming set of flagships: $999, $1199, and $1380.

Other problems:

-Nobody is interested in making small flagship phones which can be easily used one-handed, the smallest they are willing to go is 6 inches. If you want a smaller phone, your options are very limited.

-There's a camera arms race where they are leading consumers to think that more cameras = better (it's not; three good cameras would be more than enough to get the functions people want; five or six is just silly)

-5G is not easily available and won't be until like 2022. But phone manufacturers are so desperate to drum up hype in a plateauing industry that they are trying to hype up 5G compatibility in their new phones as a major feature. It will be useless to most of these phones. Paying extra for a phone with 5G is pointless now.

-Screen refresh rates. 120 frames per second--how good is it in motion? Not really so dramatic compared to 60 fps. If you are gaming then maybe you would like it. Dual audio speakers will honestly make a bigger difference with your phone's ability to immerse you in content than a higher screen refresh rate.

-Folding phones actually excite me because I'm interested in how they could provide useful new ways to use our phones. But in their video for their new flip-folding phone, Samsung bragged about how it "allows you to watch a youtube video on the top part of the screen, and comment on it on the bottom half." This is....already possible with a normal phone. I love the innovation, but they haven't really demonstrated any major UX draws from a software perspective that really take advantage of the form factor.

The number of people who actually spend $1000+ on a phone is in the minority. Clearly people like cheaper phones. But phone makers still spend so much effort trying to get people to get their most expensive ones. I wish the major phone makers would spend more time exploring lower budget options that offer more practicality and less superficial flashiness. And give those phones the level of attention they currently only give to the most expensive phones.

Birds of prey: it's not very good IMO, it's basically just deadpool which wasn't funny the first movie, and definitely isn't funny or impressive now that r-rated comic book movies are normal.

Sonic: I haven't seen it but it looks like typical unimpressive kid fare without much appeal to adults unless maybe you really love sonic.

I had mine taken out 2 years ago when I was 26, and the guy doing it was quite hesitant to prescribe any opioids. I guess now they are even less likely to do it!

TBH I only ended up using a single pill from that prescription, the pain ended pretty quickly, it didn't hurt as much as I expected it to. I think I still have the rest of those pills lol

It was so annoying trying to make sure I didn't get a dry socket for the next few weeks.

I took local anesthetic because it was cheaper and because I didn't have anybody to drive me home after.

The oscars voters are just the academy of motion picture arts and sciences. They're very homogenous (in 2015 they were 75% men, overwhelmingly American, and significantly whiter than America's population on the whole) and it's well known that they don't typically give every movie fair chances or equal attention.

Also, they're human and are swayed by oscar campaigns. They also don't have to watch every nominee before they vote, so many of them make uninformed votes.

Nonetheless it's the biggest single form of recognition we have for moviemakers, and people who win get significant career boosts from it.

I would also wager that on average there were fewer people watching per device for the VGAs compared to the oscars. Oscars are shown on TV, which means it's likelier to be in a common area, and people are likelier to group up and watch them together (and oscar viewing parties aren't uncommon). The VGA on the other hand have a lot of people watching at their computer desk or on their phone even, more likely to be watching alone.

Improving lighting and water effects shouldn't be hard.

The bottleneck is probably gonna be how to get more realistic animations for humans and working on physics and clipping. A game isn't gonna look really realistic when characters are clipping into walls and clothes, have one foot on the edge of a cliff and the other one standing in thin air, etc. And the way humans talk in games is a huge barrier of realism--they need to get the proper facial expressions, eye movements, body language/gestures, AND sync the words to our mouth movements. That's all a lot of work.

Also consider human bodies--models in games treat our bodies as rigid, but in reality we are floppy cartilage, muscle, fat, and skin. Any time a game tries to do a sex scene it shows just how pathetic game tech is--you push on somebody's leg or lean against a surface, and you should see the muscle/fat move/flop/compress/stretch. You hold something tightly and your body/muscles should tense up. Yet somehow a character like Geralt is constantly in a state of rock-hard flexed muscle, even while relaxing in a bathtub. That stuff matters, especially since our brains are finely attuned to what looks natural in humans specifically. But game developers are a long way from getting that down, they have bigger problems to work out before they even broach that. (Though they have prioritized boob jiggle physics >_>)

As far as the environments go, ignoring humans, I think it won't be too long!

I lived with an ACTUAL sjw in college, who had a tumblr account with a decent following. She was also bipolar which probably played into her pattern of posting on tumblr. She was a nice person but her disorder messed her up a lot.

She had to take time off from college when her bipolar disorder flared up. But she eventually graduated. I don't talk to her nowadays bc I moved. From what I can tell, she is still politically very opinionated but is less inflammatory now.

Firing kevin Hart for being a bigoted crybaby and hosting a successful oscars without any hosts helped them realize they don't need a person to host the whole show. Most people preferred the format last year without a singular host.

Hopefully they won't try to pull any dumb stunts like pulling people into the show from the street, which just pulls time away from the awards. Maybe they can stop awarding the smaller awards during commercial breaks >_>

Breeding, abilities, and held items are additions that thoroughly improved the complexity of the combat and gameplay mechanics as well as in the foreground as things to consider while the physical/special split and type changes are in the background but theyre more essential. As Lets Go showed you can still have a modern Pokemon game that doesnt have the additional mechanics of later gens while I cant imagine a modern game not having the special split or using the horrible type chart of the first game.

I think this is because of the difference between a new feature and fixing a broken system.

I agree that it was necessary to curate the physical/special moves by hand, I just don't think it's an innovation so much as it is fixing something that was clearly broken with the mechanics of the series. Some features are excluded from Pokemon Go and Let's go for the sake of simplicity, but they would never make a modern game using the old split or broken typings because there's no point breaking the mechanics once they've been fixed. Again, fixing those things was super important, I'm just not as impressed by fixing obviously broken things as I am by actually introducing exciting new features.
