I think gear makes a big difference, but it costs a lot of gold later. Like I was working on upgrading Frans stuff and went from over 300k to broke before I knew it lol

I'll start looking into upgrading my gear then. I don't think I have any really good full sets right now though.

BTW Im not sure Vel and Julia are too good, so you might need to use other characters until you can get them higher. Celeste has been carrying me as an offensive healing tank but unfortunately she doesnt come until kinda late. Im glad I rerolled for her :3

I've mostly been using Ashanti, Angela, Nightengale, and a miscellaneous fourth depending on if I need a specific character/element for a stage.

I think I hit the wall in Battle Divas. All of the characters I've been using so far are at max level (Ashanti at 50, everyone else at 40) and I'm stuck unable to clear 6-7 in the main story or 2-2 in the White Empress event to proceed farther in either of those stories.

So what should I do next? Try to level up the two characters (Vel and Julia, and Julia has a 5-star weapon available) I have unlocked that I haven't touched yet? Work on upgrading my gear? Figure something out with biochips?

I did check out clips of the dub and it seemed pretty solid. Even though it was a huge departure from the sub I liked Kuroko's English voice from what I heard.

I've been watching the whole franchise (Index, Railgun, and Accelerator) dubbed and I think it has a great dub overall. Touma, Misaka, Accelerator, and most of the supporting cast sound really good.

My favorite thing about the dub is that Brittney Karbowski voices all of the different versions of Misaka by herself, unlike in the Japanese version where they all have different voice actresses. Despite them having such drastically different personalities (Mikoto's tomboyishness, the Sisters' emotionless deadpan, Last Order's innocent hyperactivity, and Worst's psychotic battle lust) they're still *Index/Railgun spoilers* literally biological clones of the same character so it makes sense for them to have the same voice, and Karbowski shows some incredible range by voicing them all on her own. In fact, this is actually the show/franchise that solidified her as my #1 favorite English dub voice actress. She's awesome.

As the previous poster said, the franchise originally started as a line of figures and there are also two light novel stories, but the anime will most likely be an original story. I'm mostly excited for it because it's more "cute girls doing action things" animated by the same studio that did Madoka Magica.

I was going to start Railgun T myself but I'll probably wait on that since I heard the second half is delayed until July.

They made it to the end of the first major arc that this season was going to cover (Daihasei Festival) before they delayed the second major arc (Dream Ranker) to July, so they at least reached a good stopping point in the story to not leave a massive cliffhanger. The English simuldub is still 6 episodes behind though, so you're definitely better off waiting if you'd rather watch it dubbed. But if you're going to watch it subbed, I don't see a reason to not at least watch that first arc they have done.

Sentai Filmworks is doing that "go back and dub a show that's nearly a decade old but didn't have a dub yet" thing again. First Kampfer, then To Love Ru, now they've announced an English dub release for The Pet Girl Of Sakurasou. I've had a mild interest in the show but just never got around to it, so it getting a dub now just moved its priority up a bit.

Watched most of the first episode of CCS, I really like the look of it. It has that "hand-drawn" 90s look. Even if I don't end up liking the story much it is at least pleasant to watch because of that, especially with the quality Funi streams it at.

Yuki Yuna is getting a chibi short spin-off anime, and it looks like it might be going the same route that BanG Dream, Toji No Miko, and Revue Starlight went by using a chibi spin-off to get anime-only fans acquainted with characters previously exclusive to side materials... and I have no problem with that, because those other shorts were fun. Netflix Canada at least will have CARDCAPTOR SAKURA on June 1st.

Funimation also recently added CCS to its library too. The more places it's available to stream, the more people get to watch this amazing classic.

A shame we'll never get a re-dub though, because both existing English dubs of the series are pretty bad. I'd love to see Funimation take the cast they used for dubbing the Clear Card sequel series (part of which was borrowed from appearances in Tsubasa Chronicle) and re-dub the original series.

I tried downloading the JP version of Symphogear XDU, and I can't even figure out how to make it past the title screen. I don't understand Japanese and I don't know what the menus even want me to do to start the game, so I can't even play it. Fuck it, it's not worth the hassle. I don't watch enough Youtube to have a least favorite. Most of the gaming Youtubers that I watch regularly these days are ones that focus on Smash Bros (Zer0, Alpharad, Little Z, Poppit1, etc.) or Call Of Duty (I Am Wildcat, BasicallyIDoWrk, Fourzer0seven, Terroriser, etc.) and usually for comedic videos and not informative ones. Two of my all-time favorite anime franchises, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha and Symphogear, are having a collaboration event in (the Japanese version of) Symphogear's mobile game, and it's a dream crossover that fans of these franchises have been wanting for several years. So many of the best parts of Symphogear were inspired by Nanoha's success (magical girls mixed with mecha, badass girls violently beating friendship into enemies, Nana Mizuki's glorious singing voice putting the franchise on the map) that this collaboration is almost like an old master coming out of retirement to fight in battle alongside their younger apprentice for the first time.

Seriously, just in the first three episodes alone, this show has drama, comedy, political intrigue, lolis, comfy slice-of-life moments, badass mecha/tokusatsu fight scenes, and semi-incestuous yuri teasing. It's insane. Based on first impressions, the story seems like an absolute mess and the show itself feels like it's trying to do too much at once. But at the very least, the characters and slice-of-life moments are fun and the fight scenes (at least so far) have been badass and really well-animated. We'll see how it goes from here.

I also pulled Fran and her Broken Soul today, but I was rolling from the normal supply chest (and not her personal one) because I wasn't really interested in her. At least we know now that most, if not all, of the characters beyond the first 15 are also going in the permanent supply chest pool.
