This new reboot stared airing last year and is going to not only cover the entire manga's story, but stay closer to it than the original anime as well. In this one episode alone, I heard more actual baseball terminology and strategy discussed than I heard probably throughout the entirety of Cinderella Nine or Taisho Baseball Girls. Unlike those two shows, Tamayomi actually feels like a baseball anime and not just a "cute girls doing cute things" show where the cute thing just so happens to be baseball, and that alone makes it more enjoyable for me than either Cinderella Nine or Taisho Baseball Girls were. In terms of fun factor and how much I'm personally enjoying it, this is near the top of my list for this season. There are some cameos, such as the manager being one of the main girls from the first game and there are collectable bromides that show cg's from the previous game. But I haven't played most of the games myself. I got into the series with So Long my love on the Wii, then I went back and played the original game and the second game using a questionable translation guide. The biggest difference with this game is that its no longer a turn based battle system, instead using a musou style battle system. It works but I do prefer the turn based system. Something to know about Sakura Wars is its cheesy. VERY cheesy. Anime tropes up to eleven. But that's part of what I love about it. The cheese makes me laugh. I would recommend it and So Long my love on the Wii. The current game is expensive since it just came out, so if its possible to get ahold of the wii game, I would get ahold of it to see if the series interest you. Seriously, just in the first three episodes alone, this show has drama, comedy, political intrigue, lolis, comfy slice-of-life moments, badass mecha/tokusatsu fight scenes, and semi-incestuous yuri teasing. It's insane. Based on first impressions, the story seems like an absolute mess and the show itself feels like it's trying to do too much at once. But at the very least, the characters and slice-of-life moments are fun and the fight scenes (at least so far) have been badass and really well-animated. Seriously, just in the first three episodes alone, this show has drama, comedy, political intrigue, lolis, comfy slice-of-life moments, badass mecha/tokusatsu fight scenes, and semi-incestuous yuri teasing. It's insane. Based on first impressions, the story seems like an absolute mess and the show itself feels like it's trying to do too much at once. But at the very least, the characters and slice-of-life moments are fun and the fight scenes (at least so far) have been badass and really well-animated. We'll see how it goes from here.</quote> ... Lol Two of my all-time favorite anime franchises, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha and Symphogear, are having a collaboration event in (the Japanese version of) Symphogear's mobile game, and it's a dream crossover that fans of these franchises have been wanting for several years.
