If I'm forced to pick, then yeah, im leaning town in this situation. For many of the reasons gravy had mentioned and just the feeling that Chris would sooner lie as town in this spot to push whatever narrative he's trying to achieve than the idea that he was enough afraid of a policy lynch to gambit this way as scum.

Town Chris goes on the attack, bluffs something absurd, does some moving and shaking and then recants the bluff and transitions into a read he got from the reactions to the smoke he was blowing.

I don't see Scum Chris claiming 3 separate roles rolled into 1 unless he was legitimately just fishing for counter claim information. In what universe does that make sense?

Neither situation is a 100% certainty, but one seems more likely than the other.

Excuse me? My "not much has happened yet" was in reference to the paltry number of posts that have been made at that point, not a comment on the intensity of those posts. Maybe I'm behind the time, but once I realized there day began 3 hours earlier than I was expecting I would have expected many more posts for me to have to catch up on at that point. And since my head was going to be in a virtual world for a couple of hours i was letting l setting an anticipated time I would be back. So I have some notes I made while going over day 1, but before I post those I wanted to say that as much as losing town power sucks, I can't help but love how beautifully our day 1 mirrors the source material. Yusuke, the main character, died. Immediately. In what was an absurdly short day 1. Very much like how he dies at the very beginning of the very first episode of the show.

Now if the parallel were to continue them we could have a Botan or a Koenma to guide Yusuke back to life. But unfortunately Ulti would never be able to prove himself to be a good person at heart the way Yusuke does so that could never work.

Igcd makes a show of not blindly following Chris this game. This feels ironic in retrospect as everyone blindly followed Igcd during day 1.

Lea says quick lynching ulti confirms red as mayor... Somehow? This could also be a reference I just don't understand.

Lopens first post is requesting the hammer vote. Does not go on to hammer when available.

Sbell does not run errands after all. There's something in the tone to his second post makes me trust him more, but it's hard to say what it is. I think he reminds me of myself in a way.

Lopen says Miller in all caps twice.

Corrik continues to speak with a flourish in olde English type ways. FD will remember this.

I think I like gravy's vote the least of them all. He puts vote 7 (of 9) down while saying he's only read the most recent 5 posts, which does include the votals.

Blade puts a few posts into covering what out would mean if ulti were to flip scum vanilla. I'm not sure if that's a discussion blade has in that spot if he is scum and knows that eventually won't play out so I think it reflects well on him.

I got a surprisingly visceral reaction to my arrival. I had figured it would be worth noting that I misunderstood the start time and would be busy playing VR for a couple hours. I guess I forgot that the "correct" play in mafia is to rudely not mention when people can expect you to be around. Well I reject that ideology. For example: on weekdays i I work 6am-3pm pst. That isn't me "pre emptively excusing my inactivity", that's called providing relevant fucking information.

I expect that there is at least one optimistic scum in the group of IGCD/Lea/Mzero/Lopen trying to score easy points and set up justification for my mislynch. I would throw blade in that pile too if I hadn't just found a good reason to think he's town.

Personally I'd prefer no civilian ownership of guns at all. But I know that's not realistic so...

For the public? Pistols only. Small magazines only. Every single gun registered. Strict limits on who is allowed to sell guns. Strict limits on requirements to be allowed to purchase guns as well as a requirement to established a need to own multiple guns. Waiting periods between ordering/buying a gun and taking it home. Special exceptions could be made for hunting rifles with extra requirements for licensing, but also hunting rifles should not be possible to load with more than 1 or 2 bullets at a time.

There is no reason to have a gun capable of firing more than a handful of shots before needing to be reloaded. Similarly there is no reason to own a ridiculous number of guns. If you are a "collector" and they are for the "collection" then have the firing pins removed/etc and only own one gun capable of firing.

Throw a ton of restrictions at the wall and see what sticks.

I wanted to expand upon this after giving it some more thought with an analogy I've come up with.

And in walks a patient. And the patient is bleeding profusely from a cut.

And the doctor does not immediately put a band-aid on the cut.

Instead the doctor starts to theorize some of the reasons why the patient might be bleeding so much. Maybe the patient does not have enough platelets in his/her blood so the blood isn't clotting as well. Maybe the patient regularly takes blood thinners and will regularly have trouble in this area. Maybe the patient has some complex issue affecting how his/her spleen functions and this is a side effect of that. Maybe the patient has a history of bone marrow disorders in their family which can also affect blood clotting. Maybe a hundred other potential reasons or causes...

The doctor ponders and ponders and ponders... Meanwhile, the patient is bleeding out.

Yes, it's good to consider what the root cause of something might be, but when you have a band-aid solution to a significant problem, for fucks sake put the band-aid on first and diagnose the situation after.

Especially if there is a chance that the cut itself was the only root cause. Maybe the patient was slicing a watermelon and the knife slipped. And maybe the overwhelming access to guns really is the main contributing factor to gun violence. But whether it is or isn't, we have a band-aid solution that will guarantee positive results, and you can poke around for root causes once the bleeding stops.

From my understanding it was a single ancestor 6 generations back or an equivalent number of ancestors 10 generations back (which would be 1x2^4 I believe?) With the results indicating it was more likely the 6 generations scenario.

People saw the 6-10 generations and decided for themselves that she was 1/1024 which would be 1 ancestor for generation 10 rather than the more likely/accurate 1/64. That's a 16x difference.

But the main point is that people who are individually affluent should not be the ones benefiting from that particular tax incentive. He is not saying the tax incentive should not exist, just that it should be targeted at helping those with the greatest need. I'm not really seeing the sexism there.

It's not an unreasonable position to take at all.

Many tax credits get phased out above certain income threshold.

As it stands for that particular tax credit you can get up to 35% back for the first $3000 you spend on child care expenses. (Or $6000 for 2+ dependents). BUT its not refundable, so if you are low income and either don't owe taxes or have already had your tax reduced to zero from other credits then you can't benefit from this at all.

Now that 35% does get reduced to a minimum of 20% as your income increases, but the fact remains that even to this day this is a credit that the lowest income families will be the least likely to get any benefit at all from and high income families will easily be able to reduce their tax by $600-$1200.

Giants kept Smith and Bumgarner, which I'm very much in favor of, but the moves they did make puts a hole in our bullpen that I'm not sure it's consistent.

On the one hand keeping our bigger names indicated we're playing for THIS season. And why not? With a mlb best July we pulled within 2 games of a wild card slot. The playoff potential is there.

But what did we get for our trades? A handful of guys who "might" be ready good the majors "soon". Only Gennet seems liable to see play soon, and he's been lackluster so far this year, having a late start owing to injuries.

I feel like we needed to pick up more reliable offensive production of we were really planning to make the most of THIS year and we didn't get it.

With that said they have momentum on their side and they have enough pieces there that they can definitely do it, I was just surprised by the inconsistency in that approach and I'm worried that we are going to start forfeiting close games down the stretch if the relievers we have to call up don't perform as well as we need them to.

At 11-2 the Giants have the best record of any team in extra innings games this season.

At 26-10 the Giants have the best record of any team in 1-run ball games.

With that said they have only just managed to claw themselves up to 2 games over .500 after what has been an absolutely absurd July. In fact they may have the best July record of any team this season with their 18-5 record this July. They still have two games to play this month and also I'm not sure how to easily verify this stat other than manually looking at each other teams schedule...

But for a decidedly mediocre record they have some stats that give them the appearance of a team that can squeeze out a playoff appearance if they can just keep coming through in the clutch down the stretch.

14.5 games back from first. (lol)
2.5 games back from wildcard.

Well shit. I ordered size 12 for all 3 pairs of shoes. Because I wear size 12. But on ONE of the pairs of shoes the default on the website is UK 12, and not US 12. And so the shoes are actually US 13.

So I have a pair of nice Dr Martens work boots that are a size too big.

On the bright side if I can sell them I could probably recoup most if not all of the $75 I spent on the three pairs of shoes, but on the down side I'm only getting two pairs of shoes out of this deal now :/
