nah they're really slow and overly long, especially compared to the gameplay segments

the art style is vomit-inducing
episode 2 looks considerably better for the most part but the game has its own problems

no, i was trying to say exactly what i said: they were fun to find glitches in

adventure fields were fun to tear apart with the ridiculous physics and collision
lots of levels to glitch into and potentially render the game unwinnable with

people hate the knuckles/rouge levels because the later ones are annoying and they hate the tails/eggman levels because they're stiff and boring
do you actually pay attention to when people complain about the games or do negative words about your favorite talking animal games just not register

They tried to slow down for Lost World and people hated it

slowing it down wasn't in service of the gameplay or level design
it lacked proper flow, it had shitty controls, and it had plenty of bland empty spaces that made sonic's reduced speed stick out very badly
the bizarre level design and mechanics were killer flaws

you're just as bad as sega: "we fucked something up once so we should abandon the entire thing altogether instead of trying to actually do it right"

i honestly actually don't care if they slow down sonic for a 3d game
i just want the platforming and controls to actually not suck for once (sa1 was an admirable first attempt but it didn't hit the mark, and it only got blander and more basic from there)

oh, and the reason why they haven't done the series well is that they're literally not even trying to, they're just trying to make mindless trash that just so happens to have a sonic-themed skin

intros are literally never worth seeing beyond the first time

gamefaqs moderators have a weird, inconsistent stance towards it

persona 3 and persona 4 were popular enough to get quite a few spinoffs and enhanced versions so yeah, the series definitely has a fanbase that will surely grow thanks to smash bros

the songs can be surprisingly fun
the show was amusing for the first couple episodes but it got ridiculously predictable and stale fast

mods are pretty incompetent and inconsistent

the games aren't that hard
just be sure to use buffs/debuffs and remember what enemies are weak to

it may require a tiny bit more thought than the average rpg but it's not the hellish nightmare that the bad players on the internet like to make it out to be
difficulty always falls off a cliff at one point thanks to the player getting all the buffs, debuffs, and elemental coverage that they need

his melee design was the best

I literally don't get people who love the green stars. It's literally just go through thr level slow as shit looking for the sparkle or the sound 3 times in a row. It's so boring and a lot of them are hard as fuck to find

it helped that galaxy 2's levels were fun enough for me to actually want to replay them
i 100%ed the game twice, but i only did the first game once and that was after forcing myself to

but it has worse level design, awful pacing, even lesser difficulty, and a lot more annoying bullshit (not counting green stars)

removals of ice flower and red star are nothing to complain about, the hub had nothing to fucking do in it so it got boring really quick (really annoying when hunting comics)

linearity is a dumb-as-fuck thing to complain about when you have to deal with the same progression gates with the fortresses in the original, only now in 2 you have to actually play the better-designed levels instead of just ignoring them

there's a sizable "oh, it's not THAT bad" fanbase

mania was good because of its quality, varied level design that allows for tons of replays
it's surprisingly long for a twelve-zone game because its levels are just so big and have so much to see and find
it remembers the old stuff while being bigger and better than the stuff it emulates
its level design can be too long for some and all the bosses, while creative, are annoying

the series has been mediocre-bad ever since sonic adventure, with a few handheld games and mania being the actually good games released in that entire span of time
people are shockingly forgiving of the flaws of sa2 or heroes, secret rings, or even 06

it was really funny back when it was about a bunch of foul-mouthed kids who got into weird situations
they played a lot with situational irony where the kids wouldn't understand the shit they get into when the audience does
of course, the pacing, variety, and style of jokes was much different back then too

i really hate this "hey guys this is a political metaphor, do you fucking get it yet" shit where they just repeat the one basic joke over and over
