Sonic Forces looked like a total disaster. The demo was terrible and I can't take the whole 'Sonic has been held captive and tortured' plot seriously.

Sonic Mania was great though.

Sonic Racing looks like a step down from Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed unfortunately.

Because at the end of the day its really not treated as a must check for franchise by the majority anymore. When forces and mania came out I didnt care about forces at all. But I played Mania and love it. Theyre just games who happen to star the same character now. Saying things like the franchise needs to die! Is kinda dumb for that alone lol.

It's interesting that people gradually did move away from the Crash and Spyro games from Activision (until the recent remakes) but there was always this hope that Sonic would find some sort of redemption and that their next game will be the one that returns to form.

Sonic 1-3 are classics and Ive never heard anyone form an argument against them that I would consider adequate. 9 times out of 10 its just its too fast you just hold right ;.; yet not only is that only true for, liberally, parts of 3 but also the second they slow down they go this is too slow what happened to going fast ;.;

Now the Adventure games, those are games you have to look at in the context of when they were released . They are weird charming messes that I could get people not liking, but sonic 1-3 is just classic platforming action

06 was phenomenally bad, but it wasn't the only bad one. A whole string of these bad games can make nearly anything look good by comparison.

Shrugs I'd be fine with people disliking the originals as well, since different strokes for different folks. Some people just don't like the gameplay of sonic, regardless of good.

I bought Forces since the Avatar fulfilled a childhood dream of having my own character fighting alongside Sonic. I knew full well it was garbage but I enjoyed it.

Also the new IDW comics are really good.

Imo I think sonic mania is overrated. Good game, but they tried too hard to make it a remake of the previous sonic games. I dont care about playing 5 rehashed zones from other sonic game. The music is overrated too.
