I know it's not out yet, but it looks like it's basically the same game so anyone who played on Wii U should be able to tell.

It's NSMBU and Super Luigi U bundled together.

How is it?

I haven't played the Luigi content but it's a great 2D Mario platformer. Well worth it. I've only heard good things about the Luigi stuff too.

Biggest issue is the visuals and music feel a bit uninspired.

if they reused smb3 graphics for smw people would be saying the same thing, regardless of all the new mechanics and refinements
for a fanbase that loves touting its "pure gameplay focus", nintendo fans are pretty quick to jump on a good game just because of its samey aesthetic

I dont like how Toadette is an easy mode character when Nabbit is already in the game. If you play 4 player mode youre forced to use one of the two

Also, youre still forced to pick two easy mode characters in Luigi U if you play 4 player because you still cant use Mario

It's the best of the NSMB games that being said it felt stale to me. The improvements are minor over the Wii one.

If you haven't played one or are interested in playing it, it's absolutely worth a pick up though. It's fun, I did enjoy it and finish it.

Hmm. Okay, I'll consider it as I never played any of the NSMB games. I'm not usually the biggest fan of 2D platformers but plenty of good ones have become exceptions over the years.

NSMBU was my only New Super Mario Bros game as well. So you should enjoy it.

The controls and level design are top of the class.
