I can't believe how freaking long it took me to beat this game as a kid. I just breezed right through it. Still a decent Sonic game imo.

the cutscenes themselves aren't long or drawn out at all. it goes pretty much straight to the point

I find the Big emblems the most fun to 100% tbh

Once you learn how to control the fishing it's a nice minigame

I mean that just makes it worse. The extra characters added nothing but filler. Tails, Big, Amy and Omega were all pointless half levels. Knuckles was at least critical to the overall story but even those levels were designed in a way to waste time rather than add anything interesting.

Back in the day when I was a kid I didn't have a memory card/VMU thing so I used to beat the game in a single sitting.

It pretty much took me the whole day if I started early in the morning.

well, I'm still working on it honestly, I'm just surprised how quickly I completed Big, E101, Knuckles, and how much percent I've done with Sonic and Tails without spending that much time (~4 hours).

The graphics on the DX version are bad.

But there is a mod to get them back to the Dreamcast version.

this version is pretty decent. the game is so vibrant and alive it's no wonder people loved it. I'd imagine it's upgraded from the DC version

I played a little of Sonic 2 and while it is good I guess, I'm REALLY missing out on the whole hub world they just throw you into levels which is kind of lame
