My friend's a die-hard saints fan.

He's gonna be devastated. If not already.

Your friend shouldn't give up hope. Never underestimate the Browns' ability to snatch defeat from the claws of victory.

Missed extra point and now a missed field goal...they're certainly doing their best to give the game back to the Saints. -_-

One normal and loud to get everyone's attention in an emergency.
One quieter and happier sounding, used just to say "yo dude, it's cool and all, but you can go now."

Is it too early to say that Hue Jackson was not the reason our offense sucked last year? Because it definitely seems that way so far.

Night shift at a gas station.

I actually quite enjoy my job. I'm lucky, though. Of course there are the usual annoying customers, but the vast majority of my regulars are really cool people that I genuinely enjoy seeing come in and chatting with for a few minutes.

Plus I get paid to play video games for half my shift...so that's a plus. :-P

In my case, it was because my teeth were so crooked that it was genuinely impossible to clean them properly. I could brush for 30 minutes and still have bits of stuff stuck in the little crevices that I couldn't reach. Mouthwash didn't help much, either.

More generally, any odd-numbered base system will work.

If X is odd (and greater than 2, so that the number 2 actually exists in that base), then the value of 11 will be X + 1, which is an even number and thus divisible by 2.

So what you're saying is that you were a shitty employee and you got fired for it. Fair, next.

If you don't have reliable transportation to your job, you shouldn't have the job. It's kind of sad that you think it's unreasonable that an employer expects you to show up. It's literally the single most basic requirement of employment.

Aristoph

Problem is that you're trying to start the ball in the middle and throw it straight up the middle. But your physical body makes throwing a ball straight forward incredibly difficult, since your legs and hips are in the way. You have to actually move your arm away from your body or else you're going to hit yourself with the ball. And trying to throw a ball straight forward using a curved arm motion is...well...stupid.

The better idea is to start on one side and throw towards the middle on a slant. You can move your arm in a straight line much easier if it's angled because it'll be out of the way of your hip. Either direction works, though most people find it easier to throw across their body rather than away from it (so if you're right-handed, stand on the right of the lane and angle your throw to the left.

Of course, if you want to actually become a decent bowler and are interested in more than just screwing around with friends, you should ignore literally everything I just said. Because it will give you horrible habits that will be a royal pain to break when you actually try to throw the ball consistently and correctly.

I loved it when I did it for two years.

I can understand a lot of people being absolutely miserable, though.

Yeah. I worked my ass off, but I had a blast doing it. I was a barker...sorry..."games associate." I worked the prize games, calling people over on the mic and convincing them to drop $5 a shot for a chance to win what amounted to a crappy quality dog's chew toy. And I was damn good at it, too.

It helped that I worked at an amusement park that also had a water park area, and the section of games I ran was right outside the entrance to the water park. You wouldn't believe how many hotties I got to see walking around in skimpy bathing suits every day. And I literally got paid to flirt with them. As in, I was actually told during training that I should flirt with girls to get them to play. Especially when they're with a guy, because it makes the guy more likely to try to show off by winning. XD

EDIT: BTW, do NOT apply for a position on the rides. That job SUCKS and every single one of the guys I became friends with from the ride staff absolutely hated their job. Games is fun. Rides is hell. Food service/concessions is just kinda meh. And the gift shop jobs are usually pretty easy, but get kind of hectic. Typically you apply for a specific role, but exactly where you are physically located in the park will vary. So I only did games, but my first year I moved around to 3 different park sections wherever I was needed. Second year I was in charge of the section by the water park entrance, so I was always there and I was sending some of my team to help out elsewhere when a section was shorthanded.

Definitely yes.

The prequel books about the First Formic War are kinda cool too.
