More generally, any odd-numbered base system will work.

If X is odd (and greater than 2, so that the number 2 actually exists in that base), then the value of 11 will be X + 1, which is an even number and thus divisible by 2.

In D&D fifth edition, when damage is resisted or saved against, you divide by 2 and round down.

So a dwarf taking 11 poison damage would half that to 5.
