Basically the face of anime, especially for the nostalgia gamers of the 90s, which is roughly when DBZ started airing.

You could optionally include Vegeta who'd definitely be up there.

While there were older releases like Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Battle 22 and Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout it's clear no one cared for/liked those games.

I personally recommend using something like Dragon Ball Z: Budokai since it's the first release that actually uses the voice acting from the show people use.

Of course we could just use one of the more recent games like Dragon Ball FighterZ or Xenoverse 2 or even that mobile game.

I'm pretty far behind in airing anime (damn BanG Dream Girls Band Party for being so addictive). Instead of doing write-ups at the end of the season like I have before, since I doubt I'll be all caught up by the time the season ends, I think I'll do one whenever I finish something.

On that note, Island was awful. Without spoilers, there were concepts and characters in there that really should have appealed to me but they were all handled so terribly that everything fell flat. I don't know anything about the visual novel but I have to believe this was a bad adaptation of it. There were times where I could feel them rushing through things that really should have been given time to breathe. The nonsense still managed to lead up to an ending that kind of got to me, so I can only imagine how good it might've been with proper characterization and foreshadowing, but alas. It also left 90% of its plot points unresolved. It's currently one of the ten worst anime I've finished, 1/10 overall.

Apparently a lot of it was anime original content and the stuff that actually was from the VN was rushed

Sumika stuff in Extra timeline when Takeru was going through the major PTSD is probably the most emotional I've gotten in a VN.

I like Muv Luv Alternative but I think the major issues it has relates to how fuckin long some of the explanations are and some of the drama especially towards teh end was too predictable. And sometimes action in a VN for me doesn't work as well as it would in an anime or movie;.

Sure the ending may not be the best but its similar to Ever17 in termd of mind screwiness but its more adult since most of the characters are adults and the plot is potentially even crazier screwier due to the premise

Cuphead- 3/4 It does have an interesting cult following but don't expect much

Monokuma- 4 It does have a series and the whole popular twitch thing but barely low midcarder is the best I'm considering.

Joker (Persona 5) - 5/6 (Persona 5 is probably fairly well played on this site but even so it's still a newer game and somewhat untested

Phoenix Wright- 7 (He's somehow proving to be a decent midcarder)

Neku Sakuraba- 4/5 (He's been in before and does.. enough to at least have a match with high fodder I guess?)

Bowser- 9 (consistently one of the strongest non Noble-Niners)

King K. Rool - 5 (DK and Diddy don't do particularly well as is. Best thing he has at this point is the Smash announcement)

Waluigi - 5 (Being from the Mario series and a joek character helps but not too much.)

Noctis - 4/5 (REALLY hard to say FF15 seems to have very mixed reception, I'm honestly expecting him to have maybe 60% of Lightning'S strength

Sora - 8 (Can't go wrong with him being in the contest)

2B - 6/7 (A very interesting case. Her design alone could be decent enough but Nier Automata seems to be a well regarded game that people actually played as opposed to original Nier)

GlaDOS - 7/8 (Portal is liked enough on this site)

Banjo - 4/5 (Seems consistenly in the 'meh' zone)

Master Chief - 7 (Inconsistent but still strong enough to be here all the time)

Green Biker Dude (Mega Man X2) - 2/3 (Outside a joke rally don't expect much)

Rathalos - 3 (Monster HUnter IS big but would people really care for this big guy all that much?)

King Dice - 2/3 (See cuphead but worse)

Callie (Splatoon) - 2/3 (Splatoon already probably isn't a super cared about game and she doesn't seem like a major character anyway?)

Olberic - 3/4 - Octopath does have the convienence of being on the Switch and a old school JRPG feel that GameFAQs would care about but not enough to
make too big a difference

I can never remember. In previous contests has Allen announced when nominations will close?

There was never a specific time from what I notice.

After a set period time either a vague heads up is given in the middle or the noms form will just close when noms are slowing down.

I'm guessing noms will go for like 2-3 weeks. Then like another 1-2 weeks to make the bracket.

Then another 2-4 weeks to predict bracket
