Isn't there also some convoluted-as-fuck theory that the Matrix series (or at least the first one) is a huge parallel to being trans somehow?

I vaguely recall something about that.

As I understand it, its mostly subtext and thematic, specifically how people refer to Neo. The badguys and his bosses in the Matrix calling him Mr. Anderson. Morpheus and company calling him Neo, and his declaration in the subway scene where he declares that "My name is Neo" parallels coming out as trans.

I think its ambiguous enough where you can get pretty much anything about it though. Moviebob did a really that good episode on the Matrix and he addresses the trans themes in it (although thats only part of the video).

Topiccould a samurai with a katana beat a european knight?
PMarth2002
07/01/18 6:07:06 PM

Swords in general are ineffective against metal armor unless you stab into the less protected joints, or use the sword like a club, bashing the enemy's head/helmet with the hilt of the sword (called a murder stroke).

To deal with armor you need something like a mace, a warhammer or a polearm with a heavy blunt end. The impact of those sorts of weapons travels through the armor and can seriously fuck someone up.

This is especially of plate mail. You're basically a walking tank with that level of armor.

Swords are sidearms, they are rarely ever the knight's or the samurai's primary weapons.

I was kind of wondering about that. I don't read comics, and had honestly never heard of the character before the announcement. Which seems strange considering that the character has apparently been around since the 60s and is named after the freaking company.

But nope, people always talk about x-men, avengers, spiderman or the fantastic four when it comes to marvel, and those are the ones that always get movies.

KORTheater. Its an abridged parody of Kimagure Orange road, an old rom-com anime from the 80s about a kid with psychic powers who gets into love triangle.

The channel hasn't updated in six years. I forgot I was subscribed to it. The parody's okay I guess, I think I just subscribed to watch the rest of the videos later and forgot about it.
