Also, trunk makes a lot more sense, since I've seen pictures of old cars with a literal trunk strapped to the back of them. I have no idea why Brits call the trunk a boot. It's weird.

Kinda. People often take fold up tables, drive them and their stuff they are selling to where the car boot sale is being held and set up a store of sorts to sell stuff. I suppose it's a yard sale now that I think about it in the USA.

If there's a bunch of people doing it, then that'd probably be called a flea market here.

No we have market stalls too. These car boots sales are often held in random locations and don't require much permission as a market stall would. I bet bric a brac sales/stores would confuse you too.

In the US a boot in relation to cars is a big metal lock that law enforcement sometimes puts on the wheel of impounded vehicles to make them undrivable

It serves the same purpose as a trunk you would have in your house.

As for being called a boot, I was lost on it until I realized the opposite end (the hood in the US) is called the bonnet in those parts of the world (based on watching Top Gear). Thinking of a baby, you put a bonnet on the head and boots on the feet. At least, that's my guess.

I don't think it has any connection with babies cloths but eh it's as good of a guess as any because I've got nothing.

A tweaker is a person who is addicted to meth. It can sometimes be expanded to include anyone shady and addicted to drugs. Also known as someone you don't want to buy things from. Heh.

I'm sure there are some technical differences, but it's basically the same as a storage bin or toy chest. I'm guessing most houses have at least one.

I found this on the trunk/boot:
http://www.worldwidewords.org/qa/qa-boo5.htm

And this on both trunk/boot and hood/bonnet:
https://englishlanguagethoughts.com/2017/06/07/boot-or-trunk-hood-or-bonnet/

So, yeah, my guess was a bit off. I was in the general vicinity for the bonnet, though.
