Within another second I had already pulled out my gun with a level 3 retention holster at that and had already shot him back This is the real problem with police training. You're trained to think everyone has it out to kill you. And it's true there is danger everywhere. That's a problem because you now treat innocents like potential killers. I'm sure you also had to watch that video of the routine traffic stop where the guy just executes the cop with a rifle. That's the problem and it infects every way you view the world. You're conditioned to just accept that you'll get gunned down in a standard argument and you wonder why people get nervous and hate cops? |

My sense of how top Democrats have been holding back is that they know there is metaphorically "fatal" evidence of Trump's guilt, and that they've been strategically holding back to time things to maximize the impact on the November 2018 election. They're too calm and too quiet for people who are uncertain about the underlying facts and the future of Trump as President. Conversely, the Republicans have been wildly bizarre and insane by their own standards. Yes, the party is internally in disarray, but the disorder, divisions and lack of discipline are extremely abnormal, as are the wave of officials declining to run for re-election. What don't we know? |

Democrats generally support cutting taxes on poor and middle class Americans. The issue is when we give large tax breaks to the upper class who simply keep their money to themselves. It's been proven time and time again that trickle down doesn't work and that people who will spend the money directly on goods and services (such as the average American enjoying an extra ~2 grand a year) will improve the economy better than some wealthy elite who puts it into his mutual fund. So when Democrats criticize the tax breaks it's not that they hate poor people but that an extra grand means nothing if you have to spend a couple grand extra on healthcare cause there's no mandate. Or add in any other reform the tax bill changed or ways they're trying to balance the budget. |
