I've never heard of a 300 day Purgatory before. While this is technically possible (Allen can set any length of time he wants), the default options are either 7, 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, or 180 days.

The Tax bill is giving the middle class some scraps to keep them happy for a while, so they can give caviar and diamonds to the donor class without a riot. The reason it's unpopular is that some people have wizened to that fact. They see who gets the priority: It's not them.

I benefit a bit more than average from the tax deal, but i still would prefer to have higher taxes. As for donating to charity, those deductions have been removed, so our social net has been doubly slashed. Fuck everybody who is complicit in this administration's plunder.

Giving $1 to 80 people, and giving $100,000 to 19, and $1,000,000 to 1 is an average of $29,002, but I don't imagine 80 of those people are going to feel particularly great about it. Especially so when you'll be stealing $100 from them next year, and $1,000 the year after that.

And extra few hundred dollars does mean a lot for someone making $25k/year. And as I said before, the future tax increase won't happen if Congress expands the tax cuts, which they will probably do unless the Dems have control.
