Ideally, yes. It's a part of casual conversation that straight people do all the time like an amusing anecdote about their spouse or a crappy date they had back in college.

Changing the pronouns and staying in the closet is just a cumbersome mess, while saying absolutely nothing just makes you look kinda weird. On the administrative side, marital status is a good thing to be cognizant of (ie, sick day because spouse needs surgery)

Yeah, it was kinda disappointing. It was an annoying "Gotcha!" moment because a lot of suspicion and evidence was thrown at a large amount of cast members and not Maggie. It was only slightly less left field than some random side character who wasn't even hinted at in the first episode like Milhouse's mom.

In retrospect, Maggie was the best candidate to let the show return back to "normal" after the episode. Like, if it was Smithers subsequent episodes of him interacting with Burns would be drastically different. But... maggie's a baby which absolves her of any wrong doing. Also the joke of "as easy as taking candy from a baby" gets a chuckle.

Not that I'm aware of. The post marriage issues revolve around things like housing, employment, and adoption*. In all those scenarios it's a lack of overt protection because those decision are due to private individuals and "soft" since there's a bunch of reasons besides sexuality that one may be deemed unworthy.

In every single situation, comfort level declined from last year. Three areas where discomfort showed a significant increase were learning a family member is LGBTQ, learning my childs teacher is LGBTQ, and learning my doctor is LGBTQ.

I don't think this is something we can blame the SJWs on.

This is a direct response to bathroom bill rhetoric because many people are under the impression that either a) LGBTQ people are harmful and predatory or b) harmful and predatory people will mask themselves as LGBTQ in an effort to be harmful and predatory.
