It's been weird every time one of my classmates passed. There were a few. One died at 20 y/o of cancer. That guy wasn't the nicest to me, though, but it still sucked to hear that. There were a few I knew, too... always sad :/

Worst part of high school was the announcements that a student had passed away. There were four fatalities at my high school when I was there, two from overdoses and two in car crashes. It sucked every time, even though I didn't really know any of them.

I never buy EA's overpriced microtransaction crap at full price. All four packs I've gotten on Sims 4 were bought heavily discounted - like I got a bundle of an expansion pack, a game pack, and a free stuff pack for $40. I don't intend to buy much more there. I have Get Together and Spa Day and abuse the heck out of the latter in particular. Might get City Living or Dine Out if I can afford it some sale day (maybe I can get the two bundled). I've spent like $75 in total so far. Since it's all been on sale, I'm sending the message to EA: I'll buy SOME, but not ALL of your shit if you lower the prices. Lower the prices even more, even if just for sales, and I'll buy more. I'm not going to buy any stuff packs unless they're bundled in free, because that's not enough content to justify the price.

I am not buying Battlefront 2 or any game that wants me to sell my kidney for the sake of completionism or competitive ability. I hate microtransactions (aka Sims stuff packs) but am okay with actual legit DLC (Sims game packs and expansions).

I'll see what yours is about when I listen tomorrow. Since I listen at work, I only get to do one a day. Also, since my work doesn't allow access to the site, I have to download them at home over Wi-Fi or stream them with cell data. But since I don't want data overages, I avoid streaming them for the most part, but if the guest is worth it, I don't care. Andrea is one of those. No regrets there.

Was AA6 good? I loved 5. But something about 6 always seemed....off, so I never picked it up. Maybe the change in setting made it feel like it was a side game to me.

AA6 is "eh" until the final case. It's worth suffering through the off-feeling parts of the earlier cases (and trust me, there are a lot, and I wasn't feeling the game for the first four cases) to get to 6-5, trust me. Apollo gets more character development in that case than he did in the game named for him.

I'm lukewarm about Phoenix being the star of AA7. There's not much more to his story the way there is with Athena or Apollo.

But in terms of the game the jury would have voted Lisa over Skupin anyway. Aside from Carter, who voted for him anyway, the jury didn't have much good to say about Skupin. Artis and Abi fucking hated him, and the rest didn't respect his game.

When Skupin was arrested, it was quite interesting to gauge the difference in reaction between Kucha and Tandang. Varner reported that Kucha was "completely devastated" by the news when he was on RHAP. But soon after, Pete and Abi mocked him rewatching Philippines from prison.

What I remembered, though, was that Lisa wasn't very well-liked either. Her only vote was from Roberta Christine, someone who didn't really get to meet Denise. That said, I do think that Tandang was not very fond of Skupin, but I didn't see them as big Lisa fans either. Malcolm called him "an overgrown twelve y/o" and was probably warmer toward Lisa, if only a little. In an F2 with a jury of 9, Lisa probably gets votes from RC, Artis, Pete, Abi, and Malcolm, so yeah, she wins despite Penner chewing her out (Penner and Carter vote for Skupin. Jeff Kent and Denise are ???).

Entirely possible. Rodney was very ill for months after Survivor so it doesn't surprise me that it started then. But even so, why was Will the first name he thought of? That probably means FFSDT was doing what Vytas and Reed had done (though she would have only known the former) and was voting for 2nd, hoping Will would get 0 votes like he should have.

I doubt he's moved on at all, honestly. He probably remarried so fast because she was his only source of solace in his despair. Happens all the time - a spouse passes, the widow then remarries someone who provides them comfort. I can't imagine how bad the anguish is, but being alone probably makes it worse.

As Rob noted on the podcast with Jay, Jay is relatively liked in all corners of Survivor. Casuals and super fans alike love Jay.

I distinctly remember casuals saying on - *shudder* - the Survivor Facebook page that "Ken should of (sic) won because he's such a nice guy" or something, not taking into account that Ken was not much of a strategic quantity compared to Adam and Hannah. He got 0 votes. Hannah got 0 votes because her strategy was not comprehended by the jury. Ken got 0 votes because he was perceived as someone who was hardly ever strategic (really just his failed attempt to expose Lucy's plot to Jessica and voting out Dave at F4) and just went along with whatever he was told by Dave or Hannah. Adam was seen as the only one that recognized that Dave's threat level was over 9000 and tried to do something about it. Hannah's "I could get rid of Dave whenever I wanted!" wasn't going to fly because she hadn't told the jury she wanted to use him as a shield until they'd already labeled her as his sheep. She needed to tell them that before voting them out.

Hannah is still second place, though, and her being on the DVD cover over Ken confirms that production sees it that way, too.

This makes me curious... in the case of F3s with a tie for second place, who do you guys consider the true runners-up? My take:
Fiji: Cassandra is 2nd, Dreamz 3rd
Philippines: I need to rewatch this one to discern since Skupin and Lisa were seen as a unit
Caramoan: Dawn 2nd, Sherri 3rd
Worlds Apart: Mama C 2nd, Will 3rd (Will isn't on the DVD cover because he's so hated; why Rodney forced FFSDT to vote for second place is still beyond me)
Cambodia: Spencer 2nd, Tasha 3rd
MvX: Hannah 2nd, Ken 3rd

This worries me because I thought XY was way too easy. I know Pokemon is not a bastion of difficulty, but XY seemed significantly worse than usual -- caves/dungeons were super short, there was usually an infinite healer mid-cave, and even high level gym trainers had like 2 pokemon.

I made XY harder by rotating 9 Pokmon there also. It helped. I do think dungeons and routes were too short and easy and I never really needed healing items because of infinite healers, but the things they did in XY made it feel fresh again. It also made breeding viable, which helped me sink many more hours into the game.

S&M was worse, yeah. I was rotating 9 Pokmon, had the EXP Share off, and I was encountering trainers with a single Pokmon that was a lower level than my lowest. And I was rotating 9. That's unacceptable. I found it easy, boring, and stupid. Healers were even more abundant and the game offered zero challenge in any regard. The type chart thing made it way, way worse. There really needs to be an option to turn it off like there is the SHIFT vs. SET option or turning off the EXP Share. You should be able to set the difficulty you want. Right now, it's "Easy" "Easier" and "Pathetic."

I'm prepared to say goodbye to the franchise, honestly. It could be that I've outgrown it. It could also be that it really is that much easier and there's no way to make it challenging anymore, even doing a rotation of 9 Pokmon or Nuzlocking it.

I don't know, but I know what's wrong with you: making accusatory posts with absolutely no rebuttal. I'm sorry that I want to memorize typings and type charts to have fun in a game. I can't have fun if I'm told what to do. I had zero fun with S&M. They need an option to turn that off. I didn't say they should remove it, just find a way to please both camps. You're the type who thinks everyone should just play on the default SHIFT mode when some of us don't like it. This is no different than that. You think everyone should be a "casual" and play on the easiest settings.

And I say this as someone who loved BW and XY and thought the Pokmon franchise had a bright future. I no longer hold that opinion.

As long as they fix the major issues, which they won't. I want an option to turn off the in-battle handholding, as telling me what moves are effective prevents me from using any brain cells. That is the make-or-break thing. Other things would be a tougher difficulty option, halving the SOS battle rate but make the Adrenaline Orb spawn as many as in the originals, more Pokmon options that have faster speed, character customization options as good as females got in XY (not a big deal as long as character customization is there), and a region with more character.

S&M was so boring, easy, and frustrating all at the same time. The "frustration" was from its synthetic attempts to create difficulty by making battles never-ending despite it being easy to kill the SOS'd help.... yawn.

I am training some new blood to make my rotating team: Brionne, Archen, Vulpix-A, Jangmo-O, Charjabug, Lycanroc-Dusk, Toucannon, Salandit, Leafeon, and Oranguru. Ten is way too many though so I am going to have to vote one or two off.

Obviously since I'm trying to beat this now I don't have any plans to get the new ones xD

Yul won because of a Hidden Invulnerability Idol, sure, but he played that thing brilliantly. He used it to garner loyalty from the Aitu Four, then made Penner paranoid enough to flip to avoid being on the wrong end of that God-Idol. All of this shows his mastery of how to use twists to his advantage.

I don't think Zuckerberg is going to let Yul play again, though, even if Yul says "Remember, that's how I made my first million." Yul would have to quit his job and it's not easy to find something as good as being on the Board of Directors at Facebook (but let's be real here, Yul could). I would LOVE to see him play again just to see how effective he is in a modern game with less loyal zombies and no complete invulnerability.

I liked Ali. Didn't LOVE her, per se, but I found her to be a strategically and socially savvy player on Hustler beach, which made her rootable, especially over a tired archetype like Ryan (and I don't even hate Ryan!). However, she fell apart at the swap, with thinking her best option would be "with the numbers." I'd rather be in the top 3 of a 5 at the merge as opposed to being 7th in a 7, as would any smart person. While the Healers would self-destruct, there's no way Ali would be bonded to any of them. She would be a pawn and/or a goat.

Because of that, it makes me wonder how good she actually was on Hustler beach. The edit portrayed her as the strategic leader of that tribe, the one every single person thought they had a bond with. Was that actually the case, or did we overrate her social game since Ryan betrayed her so quickly?

But yeah since Ali is gone pre-merge, there's no chance we see Roark again. Ali is going to be that person... well, if she wants to be, and she strikes me as the "unfinished business" type. Me, if I ever played Survivor, I'd be one and done, lol

Hasn't Rob himself confirmed that Jenna wins in that scenario tbh? Even then, strictly speaking, if you're voted out by someone, they won that chess game against you. Rob may talk a big game, but if he can't reach the end and Jenna can, Jenna is the better player in this instance. Jenna is a better player than Rob because Jenna beat Rob, know what I mean? Otherwise we're projecting people into situations and circumstances that never happened, and if that's the case, there's really no reason a plethora of players who never won or who lost at FTC wouldn't make a list like this. A player like Tony thus becomes an exception in a multitude of scenarios while a safer socially-oriented player would be at an advantage.

Okay, so the final immunity challenge is the only thing that matters to determine who is the better player, gotcha.

Parvati played a fantastic game in HvV, but couldn't shake that the Heroes saw her as "Mrs. Hantz." She needed to vote Russell out in 4th or 5th (which would involve beating him in the F4 immunity, which she did not) if she wanted to win OR denounce his actions to each Hero as she sent them to the jury. Queen Sandra won because she did just that and insisted that she was after Hantz the entire time, but the likes of JT, Candice, and Colby were too stupid to go along with her (and Amanda was in too much of a rut because they were all being stupid).

Parv still deserves to be in the conversation, far more than Boston Rob does.

Rob C probably beats Jenna 5-2 if he can argue to the jury that he did what he needed to do to get to the end. Even Alex might vote for him - Alex said afterward that it was a good move for Rob IIRC.

It's pretty good. She was very good at finding cracks in that alliance for sure.

Why he bought that is beyond me. All three of them would've been people he could just annihilate at the final two.

Rafe went to the end with two of the most serious players. Danni is a highly underrated winner, and that's probably because she was so dodgy in her confessionals that she had to be more quietly edited. She explained this was part of her strategy, so Probst wouldn't know what she was doing so he wouldn't ask her leading or revealing questions at Tribal. While that's brilliant, it doesn't make for good TV. I do wish she had come back for Game Changers (since she was on the shortlist).

And, having just rewatched Cagayan, I can definitely appreciate Tony. So entertaining and polarizing... and a fantastic player despite being so erratic. He built the necessary bonds early in Cagayan, even if he swore on his badge and family frequently, but he betrayed his bonds in Game Changers too early. You do not betray Queen Sandra and live to tell the tale. The circumstances of a Tony repeat performance require so many specifications that are nigh impossible. People are looking out for Tony types - and it's why Joe Mena isn't trusted. That, and he's just a wannabe that's nowhere near as good as Tony.

Looks like there's one within walking distance of where I work.

Problem is, I don't know if I'm "healthy enough." While I've lost a lot of weight, I don't know if it's been enough for something like that. It's not something I can just magically improve. I will wait and see on that. If my employer offers a free biometric screen this year, that will be a good indication of where I am at. No word on that though... which is bizarre. I really only trust a few of those polls. Like the Cagayan poll, when Woo beats Chaos Kass 8-0 (with Tony not realizing that he was supposed to raise his hand). THAT one I trust, given how much they all hated Kass.

That said, Jenna DID cut Rupert herself, Kathy wasn't bitter, and Shii Ann was the swing vote as it was... so it's possible. Jenna winning 5-2 is possible (with Kathy and Amber voting for Rob).

Jenna Lewis probably would've beaten Rob OR Amber in a final 2, with votes from Lex, Big Tom, and Alicia, plus Rupert and/or Shii Ann. She'd probably take Rob since the jury hated him more.

Jerri had no hope of beating Queen Sandra, but if Sandra were 4th and Jerri in the finals... I dunno. Jerri can't articulate as well as Queen Sandra. It would've been close, since Parvati played a fantastic game except for her failure to shun the "Mrs. Hantz" perception. Hantz gets 0 votes no matter what.

Yeah, it's stuff I never use. Might even sell a couple games, but probably just a couple.

The problem is that most of what I'm selling isn't worth very much and would be cost-prohibitive to ship. Well, the Yu-Gi-Oh cards wouldn't be (just put them in a card protector, then stick it with cardboard in a regular envelope; two stamps), but half the LPs are worth under $5 (if they're even good anymore), and Amiibos have gone down drastically in value. I could get $8 per jigsaw, maybe.

I'll look into this over the weekend to see if there's anything that I can sell that WILL sell. That's probably my best option right now. I can only get 50 listings a month so if I get 20 up in October, I'll have 70 with what I get in November.

That'll probably be another week or two. Still in recovery mode. I'd do a grocery store job. They've advertised all year "Work every other weekend and make $200 a month!" on the exit doors. I'd hate it, but it would be good for me to at least do temporarily. That is, if they still need that help. I'm going there tomorrow. Will keep an eye out for it (would apply online). I'd hope to be bagging groceries, but usually they have newbies doing cart corral duty. One of my buddies works at their other store and they let him skip cart corral duty because he had prior grocery store EXP. I don't.

We'll see how long I last there, if I even get it.

After BedbugGate, I am broke and am struggling to pay bills. I need cash. If I want to play Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey, I'm going to need the $400+ necessary for a Switch and both of those games in addition to that bill money. Coming up with that money is going to take a few months. Most of these ideas don't feel logical to me, so I have to ask what I try first.

3. Ask parents for loan
I feel bad even thinking of this after they already helped save me from the bedbugs
PROS: Would be okay, instant
CONS: Already bailed me out in BedbugGate, would charge interest because, I feel bad

4. Beg for money on the street
Would be honest to an extent: "Bedbugs invaded my home and I don't want to lose it. Help me not be homeless."
PROS: Makes more than my current job, could be used from a research standpoint
CONS: Bad for my reputation (could damage friendships or love interests), feels unethical

5. Code an app
Or two. Would start with something simpler. Android only.
PROS: Interests me, would be possible since I taught myself HTML
CONS: Too time-consuming, too competitive, requires constant updates to maintain profits

When the levee breaks, I'll have no place to stay
PROS: Rough draft can be done in a month via NaNoWriMo, have English degree, have concept, if done right could impress girls
CONS: Would require three months of revisions, would likely have to self-publish (less profitable), time would be a problem

7. Sell shit on Etsy
Where do I come up with these ideas?
PROS: Could have a larger audience, would be fun, have access to a makerspace
CONS: Don't know what to make, low skill, craft materials can be expensive

8. Poker
I'd have to be all-in...
PROS: Can take the $100 and turn it into more than I need for a Switch, possibly overnight
CONS: Could lose $100 in 20 minutes and be even more broke, cost of gas money (casino with poker is an hour away), I probably have a lot of tells

9. Second job on weekends
I should've thought of this over the summer...
PROS: Guaranteed money, good for resume, impresses girls, more opportunities to meet people, easy to get at grocery store
CONS: Fatigue due to seasonal allergies and affectivity, lack of free time leading to sanity issues

10. Being a nerd

Is it 18 or 21? If 18, I think I would have been eligible for australia. If 21, I think PI would have been the first season I would have been old enough for.

It was 21 through China, when it was lowered to 18. Frosti was 20 y/o that season; Spencer Duhm was the first teenager IIRC.

The fact that it got deleted in the first place means there had to have been a reason for it, even if it was a bad moderation. If there was no reason, it would have never been deleted.

Things cash is good for include farmer's markets (not everyone has the cell phone thingy for plastic), haircuts (my barber shop doesn't even take debit cards - just cash and cheque. And I've asked about debit, which has replaced cheques entirely), purchases under $3, and paying people back the money you owe them.

So I carry cash a lot. I don't give any to the cigarette-smoking beggars that keep annoying me to give them money, though, and I never have more than $40 on me (and only get that much when I know I'm going to need that much).

Yeah, that's a big concern because it's so hard to get every last one of them. It's why this nuisance is a pain. You bring ONE BUG to work unknowingly and... yeah...

The bug-sniffing dog did not find any bedbugs at work! WHEW! I can breathe a little easier now. Building management is very thankful that I not only let them know, but that I took preventative measures. As long as I didn't bring any today or Monday (nearly impossible given my avoidance tactics), work should be good.

My car is the biggest concern now. Anything that got in before that heat wave in September probably died from my car being an oven (since it sits out in the sun). It's just anything since then that would be a problem...
