I was just experimenting with the hilt system for the first time before closing the game. Didn't expect it to work that way, like you can just slap the electo baton on the rapier hilt and punch people in the face with that. Not sure what the full ramifications are yet

This hasn't ever been an issue for me, I'm just over the halfway point and linearity works for a brain like mine.

For me the game is layed out so it constantly looks like there's a branching path and i go to check it out only to realize nothings there and I get spatially confused. Again though one of the greatest games of all time has played with my expectations

Gengar also used to be drawn more menacing. 3d did him no favors.

To frame this that the Dems can only learn or respond after the 2024 election is not reflective of reality. A voting bloc can tell the Dems that their vote relies on satisfying what they want, and that can happen right now. The Dems hear these voices, and it's up to them whether to learn right now or prefer to continue enabling an ethnic cleansing and then also potentially lose the election.

I'm saying by not voting you're not just not helping the lesser of two evils, you're actively helping the greater of two evils. The greater evil already doesn't want you to vote. If they can convince you to voluntarily surrender your vote, then you're also making their work easier to focus suppressing votes elsewhere.

The 'lesser evil'/candidate wants to win the election. The voter bloc would be willing to vote for them on a condition. That's the material reality here.

You can say the voting bloc doesn't have bargaining power because the alternative candidate is at least just as bad, but if these votes are necessary for the candidate to win, then the candidate really doesn't have any more bargaining power than the bloc, do they.

To say the voting bloc is bad here if they hold firm on expecting their condition in exchange for their vote, is arbitrary. So if the candidate doesn't budge, then they're actively helping the greater evil.

My question is, why are you so active in condemning Arab Americans for helping the greater evil, but not Joe Biden for destroying his own electability? Why is it Arab Americans' fault that Joe Biden actively gives them reason not to give their support?

The parties aren't unchanging unknowable gods whom we make sacrifices to or face their wrath. They are beholden to voting. They have the capacity to change. What you're asking is that Arab Americans and those sympathetic to them make no attempt to create that change through voicing their disapproval, because the fact the Rs are worse right now. If that's how minorities faced politics, we'd still have shit like Don't Ask Don't Tell.

It was boring!

There are some kills but basically just in one segment of the movie, and nothing too visually interesting due to PG-13. The amount of relative down time is way too much.

Worse, there are no stakes. You can intuitively tell, from the structure of the story and the inciting incident, who is going to survive, not to mention it's basically written as a family movie.

The tense moments and chase moments just aren't very scary. FNAF the game works because you're invested in managing the resources so when you're close to getting got it puts stress on you to perform. Watching a movie is just different. To be clear, the movie does NOT rely on jumpscares. In fact, they're just used a couple times as a gag/reference, one in a post credits. Still, you just don't believe anyone's going to get seriously hurt.

The film is shot competently and the main actor and little girl actor are fine. The cop lady is maybe okay but has nothing to work with, and William Afton, played by the guy who was live action Shaggy in Scooby-Doo, is unfortunately quite bad. I mean Shaggy worked with what they gave him, but his dialogue in the climax was atrocious. Like, nobody speaks that way.

Ironically what the movie needed was more of William Afton, though with a more human script for him. If you don't know FNAF lore, that is the store owner, animatronic inventor, and child predator who is responsible for everything, aka "purple guy". Genuinely the part of the movie I enjoyed most was the gamey 8-bit style opening credits sequence of the Springtrap suit abducting kids. Otherwise the "villain" for most of the runtime is the protagonists aunt who wants custody of his little sister. Boring!

The writing is pretty amateurish unfortunately. The movie after the opening credits starts with an alarm going off and the protagonist getting out of bed. You know, the #1 scriptwriting sin. The only caveat is the first shot is the alarm clock which is first displayed like the video game's "6 AM" win screen before fading into the live action shot. But sorry, that's not justification enough! Use that later in the movie.

He does in fact go to the restaurant for five nights, so that checked out.

There are glimpses of a great movie here, basically a Saw-style movie that's less interested in the torture porn element of the traps and more in characters and world building. But it didn't have the right cooks in the kitchen. At least the animatronics looked good.

Avery Brooks is cornier in the early seasons due to the hair and no beard. He looks like an Oblivion NPC with that cut.
