I gotta start doing shorter game summaries so that this doesn't take the rest of the calendar year

84) Liberty 48, 173) Kennesaw State 0
Liberty - 14 | 10 | 17 | 7
Kennesaw State - 0 | 0 | 0 | 0

Kaidon Salter (Lib) - 19/23 passing, 367 yards, 5 TDs, 0 INTs; 11 carries for 41 yards, 1 rush TD

There we go, that was pretty straightforward. It was the Salter show. Kennesaw's quarterback could actually scramble pretty well too (15 carries, 66 yards), but the passing numbers are.......yikes - 6/15, 80 yards.

45) Cincinnati 51, 212) North Carolina A&T 0
Cincinnati - 6 | 14 | 7 | 24
North Carolina A&T - 0 | 0 | 0 | 0

Emory Jones (Cin) - 18/26 passing, 177 yards, 3 TDs
Zachary Yeager (A&T) - 6/14 passing, 20 yards, 1 INT :(

Yyyyyyyyyep. They really poured it on in the 4th quarter lol.

109) Vanderbilt vs 148) Kent State

Ugly first half. Kent State with 2 field goals to Vandy's 1. On Kent State's 2nd kick they actually went from their own 14 to first & goal at the Vanderbilt 6, but only got 3 yards in 3 plays. Vandy ties it at 6 on a 37-yarder in the 3rd quarter. Pretty much first touchdown wins at this point. Late in the game, we get this sequence:

Down: 1 Distance: 10 on Opp 24 -- Pass by AJ Swann (Vandy) INTERCEPTED

Down: 1 Distance: 10 on Own 24 -- PENALTY: False Start
Down: 1 Distance: 15 on Own 19 -- Pass by Michael Alaimo (Kent) INTERCEPTED

Down: 1 Distance: 10 on Opp 19 -- Pass by AJ Swann (Vandy) complete to Jayden McGowan for 4 yds
Down: 2 Distance: 6 on Opp 15 -- Pass by AJ Swann (Vandy) complete to Will Sheppard for 15 yds TOUCHDOWN

109) Vanderbilt 13, 148) Kent State 6
Vanderbilt - 0 | 3 | 3 | 7
Kent State - 3 | 3 | 0 | 0

Vanderbilt "wins", with 46 whole rushing yards. Both teams owe the viewers an apology - terrible, take a lap.

20) Oregon State vs 237) Grambling State

Grambling kicks off, but forces a punt and moves the ball 68 yards down the field for a 3-yard touchdown pass by Myles Crawley to Javon Robinson. The Beavers immediately respond with a balanced offensive attack, with Damien Martinez racking up yards on the ground, and Uiagalelei passing & rushing. 7-7 after the 80-yard touchdown drive. The teams trade field goals to end the 1st quarter, then Grambling finds the end zone again with a short field. Following a Beaver punt, the Tigers put together a 73-yard touchdown drive, and somehow it is Grambling 24, Oregon State 10 at the half. Neither offense has much juice left in the 2nd half, with Grambling hitting 2 field goals and Oregon State hitting one.

237) Grambling State 30, 20) Oregon State 13
Grambling - 10 | 14 | 3 | 3
Oregon State - 10 | 0 | 3 | 0

Myles Crawley (Gram) - 20/37 passing, 136 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT
D.J. Uiagalelei (OSU) - 12/21 passing, 140, 0 TDs, 1 INT
Damien Martinez (OSU) - 11 carries, 103 yards, 1 TD

This sim is way too friendly to FCS teams.
I will now go ahead and agree with this. But Uiagalelei struggled at Clemson, and a tiger would totally beat a beaver irl >_>

Plenty of movies come to mind that are well-made but hit too close to home and/or are too upsetting. La La Land is one of my favorite movies and I've seen it a bunch of times, but I don't know if I can watch it again - certainly not anytime soon. Tilt was effective - good filmmaking - but also so psychologically disturbing and repulsive that I think it borders on an ethical question whether it should have even been made.

A little but I'd say most of the FCS upsets have been feasible so far. Oklahoma State's been pretty bad irl, and Arizona State (another upset victim) has been even worse, losing to OK State by 12 (their only win is by 3 over FCS Southern Utah). The Ivy League upsets are a bit of a stretch, but Cornell and Penn are both 2-0 so far. I might take UT-Martin to beat Navy irl, UMass is terrible, Sacramento State already beat Stanford for real....The only one that really stands out as highly improbable to me is Mercer over Ohio.

77) Houston vs 180) Pennsylvania

Both teams score on their opening drive - Graham Gotlieb hit a 50-yard kick for Penn, then Houston went 80 yards in 3 plays to take a 7-3 lead early. After trading punts, Penn gets pinned at their own 7, but proceeds to carve up the Cougars secondary, with QB Aidan Sayin completing 5 passes to 4 different receivers, 10-7 Quakers. Jack Martin hits a 49-yarder to tie the game for Houston in the 2nd quarter, but Gotlieb makes 2 more kicks before halftime, 16-10 Penn.

Gotlieb cannot miss and converts kicks from 48 and 38 yards in the 3rd quarter. Houston needs to find offense from somewhere in the 4th - the defense sets them up with a short field after an interception, but they stall near the goal line. They should definitely go for it on 4th & 2 at the Penn 4, but the Houston coach has had enough football for today and sends out his field goal unit, 22-13 Penn. Gotlieb is just showing off at this point and makes a 51-yarder, but it doesn't really matter because Houston isn't able to get another first down.

180) Pennsylvania 25, 77) Houston 13
Pennsylvania - 10 | 6 | 6 | 3
Houston - 7 | 3 | 0 | 3

Jared Richardson (Penn) - 13 catches, 134 yards
Graham Gotlieb (Penn) - 6/6 FGs (50, 29, 44, 48, 38, 51)

I didn't realize Penn had the greatest kicker on the planet. The Ivy League with their 2nd upset already, despite having (at least) 2 teams unavailable to sim.

52) Oklahoma State vs 205) Wofford

Oklahoma State can't pick up a 1st down their first 3 possessions, while Wofford is able to convert a 50-yard kick. Amir Annoor fields OK State's third punt and takes it 67 yards for the touchdown, 10-0 Terriers in the 1st quarter. Cowboys' special teams respond with a punt return touchdown of their own in the 2nd, but Wofford heads into the locker room with a 10-7 lead.

The Cowboys tie the game on the first possession of the 2nd half, with a 45-yard kick by Alex Hale - but Bridger Jones immediately responds, hitting a 29-yarder to finish a 14-play Wofford drive. He then converts from 45 yards early in the 4th quarter to make it 16-10 Wofford. The OK State offense reaches midfield, but only picks up 8 yards on 3rd & 10. Wofford's Ryan Ingram tears off some huge runs, getting the Terriers inside the Cowboy 30, but two straight negative-yardage plays lead to a long FG miss by Jones that would have all but iced the game. OK State gets to the Wofford 40 this time, but bafflingly punts on 4 & 2. That one is way high on the surrender index. Their defense gives them one more chance, but there's so little time left that only a touchdown will do any good. The O-Line commits a brutal false start penalty as OK State's approaching midfield. They manage to convert a 3rd & 9 to get into Terrier territory, but time expires before the Cowboys can put together a hail mary attempt.

205) Wofford 16, 52) Oklahoma State 10
Wofford - 10 | 0 | 3 | 3
Oklahoma State - 0 | 7 | 3 | 0

Ryan Ingram (Woff) - 22 carries, 126 yards

Neither offense scored a touchdown. Oklahoma State is rated way too high, after their blow-out loss to South Alabama irl, but nonetheless Wofford pulls off the biggest upset so far, while only passing for 56 yards.

LJ Johnson Jr (SMU) - 11 carries, 138 yards, 1 TD

Out go the Demons wOOOOooooooooooo

100) Sacramento State vs 157) Arkansas State

The Hornets start out strong, jumping out to a 20-3 lead late in the first half. Arkansas State gets a field goal just before halftime, but are still down 14. Red Wolves quarterback JT Shrout hits Courtney Jackson for a 3-yard score, giving Arkansas State their first touchdown of the game. Sacramento State is picked off on their next offensive play, then on the following play, Shrout finds Jackson AGAIN for a 20-yard TD, and we suddenly have a tie game.

Then uhhhhhhhhhh Sacramento State scored 31 straight points and Butch Jones cried, the end.

100) Sacramento State 51, 157) Arkansas State 20
Sacramento State - 10 | 10 | 14 | 17
Arkansas State - 3 | 3 | 14 | 0

Kaiden Bennett (Sac) - 20/29 passing, 353 yards, 6 TDs, 2 INTs

Five different Hornet receivers caught touchdown passes. Devin Gandy & Carlos Hill both reached 100 receiving yards.

29) South Carolina vs 228) Hampton
NOT ENOUGH DATA AVAILABLE TO RUN SIMULATIONS FOR HAMPTON

sheeeeesshhhh not only does South Carolina get an undeserved 2-seed, they get a bye as well. That's five FCS teams that can't be simmed so far, Harvard definitely the most tragic.

Prairie View A&M - 7 | 0 | 0 | 0

Jaxson Dart (Miss) - 15/23 passsing, 307 yards, 6 TDs, 0 INTs

Easy enough for the Fighting Lane Kiffins. Another instance of the underdog scoring first before the favorite turned it on and didn't look back. Jaxson Dart with an insane average of 13 yards per pass attempt.

116) South Florida vs 141) Hawaii

Hawaii strikes first on an 18-yard touchdown pass from Brayden Schager to Pofele Ashlock for the only score of the 1st quarter. USF finally equalizes on an impressive 85-yard touchdown drive, converting on 3rd-and-goal from the 6. Hawaii's Matthew Shipley knocks through a 37-yard kick to give the Rainbow Warriors the 10-7 halftime lead. Schager comes out of the locker room slinging it, hitting Ashlock again on a 72-yard pass, and RB Landon Sims punches it in at the goal line to extend the Hawaii lead to 10. Schager, though, is picked off on Hawaii's next offensive play, giving the Bulls a short field. The Warrior defensive makes a goal line stand, and USF settles for a field goal at the 1-yard line. 17-10 heading into the 4th quarter.

Hawaii takes advantage of a great punt return and makes it 24-10 on a short pass from Schager to Solo Vaipulu, but USF immediately answers with a 49-yard TD bomb from Byrum Brown to Naiem Simmons. The Bulls quickly force a punt, which is returned by Sean Atkins 73 yards to the house, tie game with 3 minutes left. Hawaii eats up a lot of clock with a 10-play drive, but right as they were entering field goal range with just seconds left, the O-Line commits a critical false start penalty, which ends regulation.

The Warriors start with the ball in overtime, but only pick up one first down and settle for a 33-yard Shipley field goal. A USF touchdown will win it. Byrum Brown completes passes to Simmons and Atkins to set up first-and-goal from the 9. The Bulls only manage one yard between 1st & 2nd down, but on 3rd & goal, Nay'Quan Wright takes the HB draw up the middle for the walk-off winner.

116) South Florida 30, 141) Hawaii 27 (OT)
South Florida - 0 | 7 | 3 | 14 || 6
Hawaii - 7 | 3 | 7 | 7 || 3

Hawaii's lack of ground game may have cost them - QB Schager threw 50 passes, while the team only gained 47 yards collectively on the ground.

125) Western Michigan vs 132) Nevada

I have a friend who went to both these schools :o

The teams trade opening touchdown drives, and Western tacks on a field goal to take a 10-7 lead into quarter #2. The teams exchange punts for a while, then on the first play of their possession, Western quarterback Jack Salopek bombs a 68-yard TD pass to Anthony Sambucci, 17-7 at halftime. The Broncos keep things rolling, scoring 24 straight points (now 41 unanswered going back to the first half), including another score on their first play of a drive in their own territory, this time on a 58-yard run from Jalen Buckley. The Wolfpack add on a meaningless touchdown in garbage time.

125) Western Michigan 41, 132) Nevada 14
Western Michigan - 10 | 7 | 10 | 14
Nevada - 7 | 0 | 0 | 7

Jalen Buckley (WMU) - 22 carries, 238 yards, 2 TDs

Woooo Michigan MAC schools. Western can beat Oklahoma, no problem.

68) Memphis vs 189) Jackson State

The Tigers force a 3-and-out, and the.....Tigers take advantage, quickly moving down 56 yards for a 4-yard Ahmad Miller rushing touchdown. Jackson State has a 7-0 lead after 5 minutes despite kicking off. Memphis apparently his 2 placekickers, and they take turns kicking field goals for a while - Tanner Gillis hits a 27-yarder, Seth Morgan hits a 47-yarder, then Gillis, not to be outdone, makes a 47-yarder of his own. Jackson State's Gerardo Baeza won't be outdone either, and also makes a 47-yarder. Every drive stalled at exactly the opponent's 30 for a stretch there. Finally Memphis finds the end zone right before halftime, on a 5-yard TD run by Blake Watson. 16-10 Memphis at half.

Baeza hits another kick for Jackson State, and on their next possession, QB Jason Brown finds Rico Powers Jr (good name) for a 57-yard TD pass. Jackson State have the lead midway through the 3rd, 20-16. Memphis again stalls at exactly the opponent's 30, and this time it's Morgan's turn to hit a 47-yarder. Jackson State is holding onto a 1-point lead in the 4th - Baeza hits a 46-yarder to make it 23-19, but the Memphis offense actually puts together a complete drive to take the lead back, 26-23. The Jackson State offense has run out of gas, and punts it away to Memphis after failing to get a first down. Memphis once again marches down and finds the end zone to ice the game.

68) Memphis 33, 189) Jackson State 23
Memphis - 3 | 13 | 0 | 17
Jackson State - 7 | 3 | 10 | 3

Blake Watson (Mem) - 23 carries, 134 yards, 2 TDs; 11 catches, 108 yards, 1 TD

Jackson State put up a very good fight until Blake Watson decided to singlehandedly win the game

61) NC State 54, 196) Indiana State 7

Indiana State - 7 | 0 | 0 | 0

Kevin Concepcion (NCSU) - 11 catches, 131 yards, 2 TDs
Brayden Narveson (NCSU) - 4/5 FGs (made: 38 x2, 48, 51; missed: 22)

88) San Diego State vs 169) Samford

Samford throws a pick on their first set of downs, ooopss. San Diego St quickly converts on a 5-yard Jalen Mayden run for the 7-0 lead. Samford gets another offensive possession and......interception on 1st down lol. The Aztecs can't move the ball this time but convert a 35-yard field goal to make it 10-0. Samford actually puts a nice drive together but they stall inside the 10 and settle for a field goal of their own. Aztecs immediately answer with an 80-yard touchdown drive, with their QB Mayden doing most of the work on the ground. No one wants the ball to start the 2nd quarter, as the teams trade interceptions on back-to-back plays. Samford finally finds the end zone with a 33-yard strike from Michael Hiers to Carson Goold, but the Aztecs score two more TDs before halftime to push the lead to 21. 31-10 SDSU.

San Diego State scores on their opening possession of the 2nd half, and this one looks to be over.....until Samford goes beast mode out of nowhere. The offense finds the end zone again on the ensuing possession, then the defense picks off Mayden, leading to field goal, 38-20. QB Michael Hiers throws another touchdown pass for the Bulldogs in the 4th quarter - then, after forcing a punt, Hiers bombs a 74-yard pass to Carson Goold. He's just barely caught from behind at the 1-yard line, but Hiers sneaks it in on the following play. Suddenly Samford is only down 4. Their defense forces another punt, but Hiers is intercepted on 2nd down. The Aztecs get great field position, but end up missing a chip shot field goal that would have made it a 7-point game. Hiers then........throws another interception, this time SDSU converts a field goal, and the Bulldogs sadly run out of time.

88) San Diego State 41, 169) Samford 34
San Diego State - 17 | 14 | 7 | 3
Samford - 3 | 7 | 10 | 14

Michael Hiers (Sam) - 26/42 passing, 381 yards, 3 TDs.......but 5 INTs, ouch
Jalen Mayden didn't do much better passing for SDSU - 12/22, 184 yds, 1 TD, 2 INTs - but his ability to scramble may have made the difference: almost 100 yards on the ground, 6.5 yards/carry, + a rushing touchdown

41) BYU 45, 216) Texas A&M-Commerce 10
BYU - 21 | 3 | 7 | 14
Texas A&M-Commerce - 0 | 0 | 7 | 3

BYU takes care of business against the Lions (again!). They even run in a touchdown on the last play of the game for good measure - not very Mormon-like smh. Kedon Slovis threw it all over the place for the Cougars - 27/37, 392 yards, 5 TDs, 3 INTs. WR Darius Lassiter caught 3 of those touchdown passes (10 catches total, 168 yards).

105) Stanford vs 162) New Mexico

The Cardinal march down 80 yards on their opening drive, jumping out to a quick 7-0 lead on a 17-yard Justin Lamson run. Both offenses struggle the rest of the 1st quarter - Stanford manages a field goal early in the 2nd, but the Lobos scored two straight touchdowns, snagging the lead right before halftime. 14-10 New Mexico.

The Stanford offense comes out hot again to start the half, with running back EJ Smith scampering 38 yards for the score to retake the lead. The Lobos respond with a decent drive, but stall and have to settle for a tying field goal. They tack on another kick to take a 20-17 lead into the 4th quarter......which they absolutely owned: 3 touchdown passes from QB Dylan Kopkins, and the defense did not allow one first down.

162) New Mexico 41, 105) Stanford 17
New Mexico - 0 | 14 | 6 | 21
Stanford - 7 | 3 | 7 | 0

Dylan Hopkins (NM) - 17/25 passing, 200 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INTs
Donald Jones (NM) - 5 catches, 97 yards, 3 TDs

I knew Stanford was bad irl this year but yikes....

24) UCLA 41, 233) Colgate 0
UCLA - 7 | 7 | 10 | 17
Colgate - 0 | 0 | 0 | 0

J. Michael Sturdivant (UCLA) - 4 catches, 127 yards, 1 TD

RIP toothpaste. Slow start for the Bruins but the Colgate offense was completely lifeless, so once they had 7 it was over. Michael Brescia threw for only 94 yards on 9/23 passing for Colgate, throwing 3 picks - one when they were actually kind of close to almost scoring, just inside the UCLA 30.

Oh I didn't know he was the back-up - bad timing on the Plumlee injury, the sim seems to be pretty up-to-date on that stuff. Still, McClain has put up comparable stats to Plumlee the last 2 games irl.

Nebraska at 56 huh
That seems close enough to be honest - but now I've realized Colorado is outrageously low at #69 lol. Too heavily relying on last year's results still, I guess. I wanted an impartial ranking of all the D1 teams though, and Sagarin is one of the better computer rankings imo, been around a long time.

120) Bowling Green vs 137) New Mexico State

The Bowling Green offense starts out red-hot, scoring 4 straight touchdowns after New Mexico State completed a touchdown pass on their opening drive. The Falcons' Connor Bazelak completed touchdown passes of 6, 55, 41 & 11 yards. NMSU manages a field goal but then throws a pick on the first play of their next possession, quickly leading to yet another Bazelak touchdown pass to make it 35-10 BGSU at halftime.

The Aggies offense comes out of the locker room with their pants on fire and quickly move 80 yards down the field to make it 35-17. Connor Bazelak then makes his first real mistake, throwing an interception in NMSU territory which leads to a field goal, 35-20. The Aggies have all the momentum now, forcing a punt and scoring another touchdown on a 65-yard drive, ending with a 16-yard TD pass from Diego Pavia to Jordan Smith. The lead has been cut to 8 heading into the 4th quarter. Another forced punt & decent return sets up NMSU around midfield, and they again move down and find the endzone on another Diego Pavia pass, this time to Star Thomas. With about 8 minutes left, they controversially kick the extra point to cut the lead to 1 (I don't think this sim allows 2-point conversion attempts oooops). The Bowling Green offense finally kicks back into gear, eating up clock on an 80-yard TD drive to push the lead back to 8. New Mexico State puts together another long drive of their own, but time is their enemy. Pavia completes another touchdown pass, but they again kick the extra point, cutting the lead to one. They never get the ball back as the Falcon offense runs out the clock.

120) Bowling Green 42, 137) New Mexico State 41
Bowling Green - 21 | 14 | 0 | 7
New Mexico State - 7 | 3 | 17 | 14

BOOOoooooo no 2-point conversions >:/ that is disappointing but I'm in too deep - oh well! Field goals get you beat, I guess...

Diego Pavia (NMSU) - 20/30 passing, 306 yds, 5 TDs, 1 INT
Connor Bazelak (BGSU) - 23/31 passing, 318 yds, 5 TDs, 1 INT

spiderman_meme.jpg

I thought "Bazelak" sounded familiar.....he was the QB at Indiana for a bit

73) Montana State 45, 184) UMass 21
Montana State - 7 | 17 | 7 | 14
UMass - 7 | 7 | 0 | 7

UMass demonstrating why they're the lowest-ranked FBS team

201) Bryant 10, 56) Nebraska 0
Bryant - 0 | 3 | 0 | 7
Nebraska - 0 | 0 | 0 | 0

Lmaaoooooo nevermind about Nebraska's ranking being about right - this was critical Nebraska right here. Three times they got inside the Bryant 15, and missed a field goal all 3 times. Zevi Eckhaus had a heck of a day passing for Bryant - 28/43, 313 & a TD, no picks. Meanwhile Chubba Purdy could only manage 12/17 with 66 yards for Nebraska. Another 13 over 4 upset.

Yep exactly. #49-#64 is the 4-seed of their region.

89) Utah State 45, 168) Yale 14
Utah State - 14 | 14 | 10 | 7
Yale - 7 | 0 | 0 | 7

McCae Hillstead (USU) - 22/32 passing, 286 yds & 4 TDs

The Aggies, meanwhile, have no problem dispatching their Ivy League opponent, going on a 38-0 run after the two teams traded opening touchdowns. Kicker Elliott Nimrod made a 32-yard field goal but missed a 41-yarder, that nimrod.

40) Maryland 56, 217) Long Island 3
Maryland - 21 | 7 | 7 | 21
Long Island - 0 | 3 | 0 | 0

Getting more realistic results so far today, seems like. Lol @ the quarterback stat lines:

Taulia Tagovailoa (Maryland) - 26/39 passing, 342 yards, 4 TDs, 2 INTs (163.9 QBR)
Luca Stanzani (Long Island) - 7/20 passing, 65 yards, 5 INTs (12.3 QBR)

Tagovailoa also scored twice on the ground, accounting for 6 touchdowns total. His 14-yard TD pass to Octavian Smith Jr as time expired was described as "not very nice."

104) Navy vs 153) Tennessee-Martin

Navy opens up the scoring with an 80-yard TD drive after 2 missed field goals by UT-Martin - the only score of the 1st half. Both offenses continued to struggle to start the 2nd half, until UT-Martin put together an 84-yard TD drive to tie the game. Their defense then forced a 3-and-out, and the offense stayed in-rhythm, with QB Kinkead Dent completing a 33-yard TD pass to Shawn Hardy. Navy equalized in the 4th quarter, with a 36-yard run by Daba Fofana (Be-Bi-Bo-Bana) leading to a 37-yard TD pass from Tai Lavatai to Anton Hall Jr. The Navy defense intercepted Dent on the next possession, but the Midshipmen offense couldn't go anywhere and had to punt. UT-Martin was able to move past midfield on the ensuing possession, but were then forced to punt themselves with just 2 minutes left. Navy stuck to their usual ground attack, controversially allowing the clock to run out in regulation rather than play aggressively for the win.

OVERTIME: Navy starts with the ball, but cannot get a first down. PK Evan Warren hits a 42-yarder to give the Midshipmen the lead, but their defense cannot allow a touchdown. UT-Martin gets the ball and on their offensive first play in overtime....

153) Tennessee-Martin 20, 104) Navy 17
UT-Martin - 0 | 0 | 14 | 0 | 3
Navy - 0 | 7 | 0 | 7 | 6

Nicholls State - 10 | 0 | 3 | 0

Jaguars offense eventually gets going, playing nearly to the level we saw irl when they blew out Oklahoma State.

57) West Virginia vs 200) Cornell

Not only is Cornell playable (unlike their Ivy League counterparts Columbia), but they scored the first 17 points, and have a running back named Gannon. He punched in the first touchdown from 2 yards out - the second came on a 40-yard pass from QB Wang, one play after the Cornell defense picked off West Virginia's Nicco Marchiol. Finally the Mountaineer offense was able to put a complete drive together to make the score 17-7, and a 54-yard punt return by Preston Fox cut the lead to 3 right before halftime.

A West Virginia field goal tied the game at 17 after a scoreless 3rd quarter, but Marchiol threw 2 more interceptions, each leading to another Cornell touchdown. The 200th-seeded Big Red end up doubling up Big XII West Virginia.

200) Cornell 34, 57) West Virginia 17
Cornell - 10 | 7 | 0 | 17
West Virginia - 0 | 14 | 0 | 3

Jameson Wang (Cornell) - 19/26, 229 yards, 3 TDs. Abysmal day for WVU's Nicco Marchiol, 13/29 and 3 picks.

81) Boston College vs 176) Richmond

I would not expect this to be close......irl Boston College just gave Florida State all they could handle, and Richmond was whooped on by a Michigan State program that is in shambles. Then again, BC barely beat Holy Cross and lost to Northern Illinois.......

The Eagles open the scoring with a 47-yard Liam Connor field goal on their opening drive. After trading punts, the Spiders are pinned on their own 6, but manage to come down and equalize with a 34-yard kick. The kicking duel continues into the 2nd quarter, with Connor putting the Eagles back up 6-3 on a chip shot. Andrew Lopez misses for Richmond on his 2nd attempt, from 31 yards, while Liam "Iron Leg" Connor converts his 3rd kick in a row, this one from 50. 9-3 Boston College at the break.

Connor makes it 4/4 on a 44-yarder in the 3rd quarter, but Lopez converts from 30 yards to put the Spiders back within one possession. The BC offense stalls to start the 4th quarter, and they pin Richmond at their own 9. Incredibly, the Spiders scurry 91 yards in 10 plays to take their first lead of the game on a 22-yard TD pass. Richmond has a chance to push the lead to 4 after BC goes 3-and-out, but Lopez misses again, from only 27 yards away. BC moves the ball 73 yards in 13 plays, retaking the lead on a 34-yard field goal. Richmond has one last chance down 2, but they turn the ball over on downs. Liam Connor is carried off the field.

81) Boston College 15, 176) Richmond 13
Boston College - 3 | 6 | 3 | 3
Richmond - 3 | 0 | 3 | 7

The difference in the game: Andrew Lopez - 2/4 (Made from 34 & 30; Missed from 31 & 27), Liam Connor - 5/5 (47, 19, 50, 44, 34). The Richmond QB completed 35 passes, but for only 291 yards and 1 touchdown.

48) Mississippi State vs 209) Columbia
NOT ENOUGH DATA AVAILABLE TO RUN SIMULATIONS FOR COLUMBIA

oh NO. I thought maybe we wouldn't run into this again. I hope this isn't the case for all the Ivy League teams, that would really be a shame. Mississippi State advances to face Boston College.

112) Colorado State vs 145) William & Mary

Let's see if the Rams can handle one of this season's hottest FCS teams after nearly taking Coach Prime down a peg.........a whole PEG

They're looking good early, forcing a 3-and-out and marching the ball down 65 yards for the game's opening TD. The Tribe defense stops them just outside the 20 on their next drive, but a 39-yard field goal by TEAM (some of the FBS teams don't even have the kicker's name?? waatt) makes it a 10-point Colorado State lead. William & Mary intercept Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi, but can't do anything with it, and the Rams come right back down for another field goal. Finally the Tribe offense starts clicking on all facets in the 2nd quarter - they put together a 14-play, 80-yard touchdown drive to make it 13-7. TEAM hits a 31-yard field goal for Colorado State as time expires in the half.

The Rams charge out of the locker room, forcing a 3-and-out and immediately turning around and throwing a 32-yard TD pass. Both teams go 3-and-out before William & Mary manages a 66-yard touchdown drive to cut the lead to 9. After trading 3-and-outs again, Fowler-Nicolosi is picked off on the first play of the Rams' drive, setting up William & Mary with great field position. They make it count, going 38 yards in 6 plays for the score - 2-point game early in the 4th quarter. Colorado State looks to be heading towards a potentially game-sealing touchdown, but Fowler-Nicolosi is intercepted again, at the Tribe 14. William & Mary go 3 & out, however, and Fowler-Nicolosi makes up for it with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Tory Horton. The Tribe offense is simply out of gas, and Colorado St holds on.

112) Colorado State 33, 145) William & Mary 21
Colorado St - 10 | 6 | 7 | 10
William & Mary - 0 | 7 | 7 | 7

Fowler-Nicolosi (CSU) - 26/40 passing, 338 yards, 3 TDs, 3 INTs
Bronson Yoder (W&M) - 25 rushes, 101 yards, 2 TDs

17) Florida State 48, 240) Bethune-Cookman 0
Florida State - 14 | 24 | 7 | 3
Bethune-Cookman - 0 | 0 | 0 | 0

Johnny Wilson (FSU) - 4 catches for 156 yards, 2 TDs

Bethune was just whooped on by another ACC team last week, Miami, to the tune of 48-7, so I guess the Seminoles are 7 points better than the Hurricanes.

This one was over as soon as it started. Bethune-Cookman never even got into field goal range - one drive they made it to the FSU 37, but then immediately committed a false start, got tackled for a 2-yard loss, and punted. The B-C quarterback completed 11 of 18 passes for just 48 yards. Their ground game didn't fare much better, averaging less than 2 1/2 yards per carry. Somehow Bethune-Cookman's kicker, named "TEAM" of course, was credited for an extra point......so they actually lost 48-1 ?
