Seriously, this. I used to have a very "incel" way of looking at life back in highschool because I was 5'6. Once you go outside and actually talk to people, you'll soon realize humans are far more complex than how you box them in your limited view on life.

Is the movie good? I want to watched it but most people said it was bad.

Keep your hype in check for it and you might not get disappointed with it. Don't expect much from the cameos or them even trying to use the Multiverse in a different or unique way like how EEAOO, Spiderverse, or even Spiderman No Way Home. It's one of those "turn off your brain and just enjoy the ride" type of movie, because there's a lot of stupid in it. The Sami Raimism's (horror elements) are great though and probably the only thing I really liked about the movie, even though some of the horror elements leads to stupid things happening.

It really did felt like going backwards in character growth, but the excuse for her acting the way she did was the Darkhold fucking with her. It's just weird that it makes her obsessed with finding her "kids" but not once did she ever mention anything about Vision. It's an idea, but executed horribly in the movie imo. Movie had a lot of promise, but it was overall a messy movie and most of that blame is in the script.

That's one thing this series definitely shares in common with Andor. The scenes of people literally just talking to each other are really good.

You know, what would be a good change in pace for a MCU finale? If it wasn't a cgi fest and instead just people talking to each other in an engaging and gripping way like they did with the second episode? They should probably hire someone like Quinten Tarantino for that lol. I know a lot of people disagree with me about that though and I understand why.

I really really want this to be good. MCU shows have a good habit on being compelling at the beginning and then failing to stick the landing by the finale. Really glad they went with a different vibe in this show. It still has some of its "MCU humor" moments, but at least it's really self-contained and not randomly thrown out there.

The two meeting scenes of Nick Fury with Talos and Rhodey were great. The actor playing as Gravik also did a good job with the meeting with the other Kree.

LotR will win the poll because of Harry Potter's association with JK Rowling. The first 2 LotR were great, but didn't blow me away like the third one.

It's an assholish move for the Tesla to slow down considerably when moving into the new lane, but the Honda will always get most of the blame for not slowing down enough given there was some moments they could've reacted but didn't. It would technically be more of the Tesla's fault had it that his whole body wasn't fully in the lane yet had that exchange happened. I drive to DTLA 4 days a week, and if you know people who can't drive it's DTLA. We're the same people who will speed +80mph when given a chance but then drive less than 50mph when we see a speck of rain. Anyways, there are certain parts of the 10 freeway here that merges to different freeways so speed can vary at certain parrts, so I always make sure I drive at the speed of traffic but no there's going to be an asshole from a lane that isn't moving, popping their head out on a lane that is moving +65mph. You have to be wary at all times.

Yeah, the only thing of "value" is that its fast which saves you time for doing other things then spending time in the kitchen making it yourself. Granted, making foods tends to always be cheaper and you can portion the ingredients to make it WAY healthier, but fully understandable why some people just don't have that time to do so. Cooking with fresh ingredients always requires planning or the food/ingredients get spoiled.

Most of the movie was pointless filler and its a simple feel good family drama

I mean wow a mom and her teen daughter not getting along and parents fighting and might divorce? Thats original!

Tell me how many movies uses the Multiverse to hammer those points in? That also explore other issues like regret, self worth, nihilism, depression, immigrant Asian American story, generational trauma, etc.

Some of the best movies we got are from simple stories. The most important thing for a movie to be good, imo, is how well it meshes all of its ideas together. IMO, EEAAO does it well, but I can understand why some people don't like it.

As an aside, did you know that Nimona was 70% completed when Disney bought Fox and closed down Blue Sky Studios (most known for Ice Age). Annapurna pictures then decided to open their own animation department and hired some former Blue Sky execs to run it. They brought Nimona with them, finished it, and then used Netflix to distribute.

That's great that some people from Blue Sky are still in the industry. I had a friend who was a full time animator there and essentially gave it up when he was let go because Disney shut down Blue Sky studios. He's back to being an accountant and is making decent money, but it's still sad to see a guy so passionate about his hobby doing something he hates.

There's like 2 teams at Dreamworks, one that makes considerate films and another that just shovels them out.

I mean no matter how well regarded you are as a studio, you'll always have some crap movies. It's just timing if releasing said crap movies that are going to hurt the studio or not. Dreamworks can survive if this movie bombs, but I'm not sure the state of Pixar considering Lightyear bombed hard.

I'll probably watch it if it goes up on Netflix but I'm not super interested.

Saw elementals last week with my wife and we both enjoyed it a lot.

See, Elementals did something that I actually liked, it had an immigration subplot that took my by surprise. I didn't see anything in the commercials, marketing, or trailer that it would talk about that so it was nice they dabbled into it. It also had enough stuff for adults to enjoy about the movie to the point where I can call it a "family movie" instead of a "kids movie", even though the weakest part about the movie, imo, was the romance. It's a great movie, but the reason for its flak is that it's not on-par with any of Pixar's great which is just unfortunate for the movie.
