I think the current crusade against Marvel is mostly bandwagoning and nostalgia goggles. Most recent projects are fine, the issue is mostly theyre connected to a less interesting overarching plot. Many of the installments in older phases werent great either. I also think they squandered certain plotlines. I would rather watch something like Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk and Moon Knight than fucking Civil War, imagine if they didnt use that plot for that one-off bullshit movie but kept it in a drawer for when X-Men were around too. Also Endgame sucked, I couldnt care about that Thanos whatsoever, there being another one was just as nonsense as all the Kangs and variants now.

I think it is bandwagoning to a certain to degree, to the point where it is no worse than any of the other Marvel movies in this phase.

Its bad, but so are most Marvel movies now. It definitely all feels extremely forced now. Clearly the universe was curated before that, but it feels like they are out of their minds desperate for another 10 year saga that everyone loves, and that kind of oozes into everything they've made lately.

I think it really depends on how much free time you have. My opinion on some games and mechanics changed quite a bit as I got older, and a lot of it has to do with how much I feel the developer is respecting my time.

Chris. From what I know of Boogie (not much) he hasn't done anything nearly as depraved as Chris, and nothing that completely strips someone of their agency.

I've found I really like TAZ and Glass Cannon, but haven't found many others I really like yet.

I literally couldn't care less to be honest

My wife keeps trying to get me into D20 and I've been trying to, but it feels way more "for the camera" than any other actual play I've ever watched/listened to. It's extremely over-performative, and that makes it really hard for me to get into. I'm an avid D&D player, and no table I have ever been at acts like this.

Is there a specific CR/D20 campaign you guys like? What's a good starting point?

Not sure if it's unpopular, but the Wii U had fantastic menus and apps, and possibly the best web browser not on a computer or phone. I get that Switch is going for minimalism with its UI, but it loses a lot of personality that Wii/Wii U/3DS had.

That said, the Wii U as a whole was still trash, though.

I do think therapy is good, but I was also a bit suspicious of the "Men will do "x" instead of going to therapy" memes being plastered across the internet immediately preceeding Uber-esque "therapy" apps that sell your information (BetterHelp, etc.) launching.

Authentic Japanese food sucks. They're mostly bland and the flavor mostly comes from shoyu and others.
Korean food isn't that great either. Too much gochujang paste and the flavor is dominated by sour, spicy, and salt.

Super Saiyan 3 Goku was never capable of putting down Majin Buu. Sure he caught him by surprise and punched him a few times, but after Goku released his grip on him Majin Buu was back in the fight ready to go but Goku ran away. You can't judge a DBZ characters strength based on what happens when you catch them by surprise and Goku is the poster child for that. Krillin caught him by surprise and bashed his head in with a rock and he also got shot and nearly killed by Frieza's henchman with a gun. Getting his head hit with a rock and him getting shot took the fight out of him, but nobody ever says that because of those things that Krillin or Frieza's dude are stronger than Goku, yet they turn around and say that Goku could beat Majin Buu. It's freaking madness! He couldn't even beat Kid Buu with super saiyan 3 without receiving literally a planet's worth of energy and being topped up by the dragon first, yet I'm supposed to just take it for some fanboys word that he had Majin Buu in the bag cause he caught him off guard? Man fuck out of here!

Also, Super Buu didn't get stronger than Majin Buu until he started fusing with half the cast. Super Buu, coming out fresh from being created by evil Buu dominating good Buu, was the same exact strength as Majin Buu. Math doesn't math in any other way than to put the two at equal strength. Sure, Super Buu and even Kid Buu may have been more dangerous than Majin Buu, but that doesn't make them stronger. An evil toddler throwing a temper tantrum is a greater danger to your physical well being than Mike Tyson reading a book, but lord knows you wouldn't say that because you punched Tyson and ran away that he was weaker than the toddler you stuck around and traded a few blows with.

I can respect that. I think back to Krillin Destructo Disc vs Nappa, a much weaker fighter can catch a vastly superior fighter by surprise (especially if they know they are far above their opponent) but that doesn't mean they're on the same level

Despite the heat in deep summer and kooky politicians, 9 months of the year Arizona is objectively the best state to live in.

I used to live in Peoria and I agree. It's not too much different than winter, you just don't go outside for 4 months (except at night). August is pretty brutal though.

See, I'm like one of the seven people in the audience who liked Thor prior to the MCU. Waititi's version of the Executioner (i.e., Karl Urban's character) is such a ****ing waste. If you had no idea who that character is, then I get not caring. But if you do, and even more, enjoyed his death scene in the comics, then it's tough to ignore. The MCU in general has a tendency to really waste or otherwise screw up villains.

I agree that Chrono Trigger is overrated. I think it's better than okay (good, even) especially considering the era in which it came out but placing it among the top ten RPGs of all time is ridiculous.

The best Batman films are not live action, but animated.

In live action, the casting of Batman / Bruce Wayne has always been wanting. Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Wesley Snipes as Blade, Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Christopher Reeves as Superman....are examples of well-cast comic book characters. In live action, Batman has never been cast as comparably well.

Batman & Robin, while not good, gets too much hate and should not seriously be considered one of the worst films ever made.

Batman Forever is better than a good bit of the MCU.

The first Blade film is the best and is also better than most MCU films.

Neither Infinity War nor Endgame are top five MCU films.

Thor Ragnark is not a good Thor movie.

Omitting Rick Jones from the Hulk's origin in the MCU was a mistake.

Generally, Cowboy Bebop (the anime) didn't do it for me. I found it stylish, but also dull, and never got beyond episode eight or nine.

I disagree that Thor Rag was a bad movie, but it damned the rest of Thor and many Marvel movies to try and emulate it. It worked once, but it should stand alone.

The Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy has only 1 and 1/2 good movies. Begins and the second half of Rises are awful.

Of the 9 Star Wars movies, there are more bad ones than good ones.

JJ Abrams first Star Trek movie is a Star Wars movie, and his first Star Wars movie is a Star Trek movie. I believe he fundamentally misunderstands both properties.

This is naive. I've saved and saved for retirement, but I'm not foolish enough to believe that people not saving for retirement won't affect me. The same way a city full of unemployed or homeless people will affect me even though I work my job and pay my bills.

It's definitely a "this isn't a secret, you need to save or you won't retire" issue and I don't feel bad for people that choose short term over long term, but make no mistake; it WILL affect you, and it will be negative.

No, it's metal. You're not really stopping or deterring anyone with a single shot .22LR, plus the time it takes to deploy is super impractical.

It's essentially a novelty.

Beretta PX4 Storm or the PX4 Storm Compact are great for a first pistol, single/double action and it shoots pretty soft compared to something like a glock.

Don't get the Subcompact, though.

2/3 of the titular Marvels got their start in Disney+ shows. Disney really miscalculated how many people would be tuning into the shows, and now nobody cares about their movies bc they don't have time to fully invest in the MCU anymore.

Bummer bc the run up to Endgame was amazing but it seems they've really lost their momentum

I stopped because I knew I wasn't getting Disney+, and with so many shows being integral to the meta-narrative I figured I may as well not bother with the movies anymore either.
