Is BG3 anything like PoE?

BG1 and BG2 were like PoE, because PoE was literally trying to be a throwback to BG1 and BG2.

But BG3 isn't really like PoE at all, as much as it's more like D:OS1 and D:OS2.

Canon names in Forgotten Realms/Faerun are usually fairly dumb. For whatever reason it's always been a terrible setting when it comes to character naming. But doubly so in the more modern content.

It's so bad that a lot of DMs running 5e adventures will literally ignore the canon names of characters and use their own instead, because the canon ones are so terrible they refuse to use them.

The plus side is that it doesn't really matter what the "canon" name for the MC is, because you can always just change it.

My grandpa used to horde them thinking they were going to stop printing them and they would be worth a lot of money someday. Not sure what happened to them after he died, but someone probably just spent them after being told they were still only worth $2.

It's possible, though I'm talking about the late 80s, and most of the money looked fairly crisp and new, so I don't think it was someone's hidden hoard or anything.

To be honest though, I'm not entirely sure why they still print them at all. You almost never see them in circulation and a lot of people at this point probably assume they're counterfeit due to lack of awareness that they exist at all, so it seems like a lot of hassle for something with minimal benefit.

When I was a kid, a friend of mine used to exclusively buy his school lunch with $2 bills. At the time most of us had never even seen a $2 other than from him, and were kind of confused that it was real money at all.

In retrospect, now I just wonder where the hell his parents got so many $2 and why they were apparently trying to get rid of them all.

I've never particularly liked you, but it was more casual disregard more than active hate or anger.

Though I also have no idea what you might have done to annoy everyone else, because I tend to try and avoid most PotD drama, because it's usually stupid.

He brazenly marches into Riverwood in Stormcloak armour, meets with his sister in the open, and announces that he doesn't want to put her at risk. He's not really cut out for undercover missions either.

In his defense, there's no soldiers from either side in town, and even the more pro-Imperial characters in town really aren't the sort to care all that much (you can walk up to Alvor, Lucan, and Camilla in full Stormcloak gear and they don't seem bothered). So it's not like she's going to get dragged off in the middle of the night by the Imperial secret police or anything just for meeting with him in town.

(And unless you seriously dawdle on your way, you should generally arrive at town right around dusk or so, so you're technically meeting her in the middle of the night, which would be safer.)

Presumably as long as she doesn't take a more active role she won't be in any danger from just talking to her brother (or giving you a place to stay) so it's not entirely ridiculous for him to meet with her. Especially since it's implied he only stays with her for a day or two before moving on (regardless of what actually happens mechanically because his leaving is tied to which quests you've completed).

And one assumes if you'd gotten to Riverwood and the whole place was full of Imperials, Ralof wouldn't have gone strolling into town to talk to her, but would have tried sneaking around instead.

But yeah, Ralof does come across as just a little thick in general.

Apple TV+ has had a few great shows. It's also had some absolute hot garbage. And a lot of stuff that's just sort of somewhere in-between.

If anything, the saving grace of Apple TV+ is that it's not as popular as most other major services. People are way more critical of Disney+ content, because Disney is a huge name in entertainment pushing established franchises, so there are far more people looking at what's there and openly shitting on all of the bad stuff (of which there is a lot). But because Apple+ is much more niche, a lot of its problems fly under the radar. The critical success shows are still getting signal boosted, but their terrible content mostly gets overlooked or ignored. Which kind of creates an unrealistically positive impression of the service as a whole.

It also helps Apple that they're not really chasing after established properties or franchises (yet). Except for a couple outliers (one of which firmly falls into the "hot garbage" category I mentioned earlier), they're mainly trying to push more original content. And bad original content tends to be less obvious to outsiders than bad derivative content. A bad Star Wars or Star Trek show is going to get shit on waaay more than a bad show you've never heard of that just sort of quietly vanishes into the shadows.

If Apple TV+ keeps increasing its subscriber-base (and other major services keep losing theirs), you'll probably start to see more and more negative critical reviews of Apple content.

Ultimately, you can absolutely find stuff worth watching on Apple TV+. But the same is true for most existing services. It's just that the good content on Disney+, Netflix, and Amazon Prime all tends to get overshadowed a bit by the high-profile terrible failures.

If anything, the real problem of the modern age is that all of the really good content is spread out across dozens of platforms, so there's no real way to just pick one service and see everything worth watching.

I've always hated restaurant dining in general, so .I avoid it as much as possible. The pandemic has nothing to do with it at this point.

If I'm getting food outside of my house cooked by someone else, I'll usually just grab fast food, or get delivery from an Italian/Chinese/etc place.

Probably, it costs money to keep data stored.

But it presumably works the same way that data in your local computer does. ie, when you "delete" something it's still there (and potentially retrievable), until it's overwritten by new data.

The difference between Cortado and Flat White is that one is supposed to be foamed and the other isn't. Which is the same difference between Latte and Cappuccino.

I played Superman 64 until I super speed clipped through the floor and couldnt die in some warehouse level. The last checkpoint before that was a long ways back and I just gave up.

Never forget that Bilbo was 50 at the start of The Hobbit.

He was also a member of race that lived longer than humans (hobbits weren't considered adults until 33), so he was more like a modern human somewhere in their 30s.

(And yes, that means Frodo was essentially the hobbit equivalent of a teenager when Lord of the Rings starts)

Bilbo also got a magic ring that made him functionally immortal for about 60 years, so he's a filthy cheater regardless.
