It's mostly the act of social stealth. So finding the right disguise that gets you access to the right areas. It's pretty unique.

Yeah it's overall a dying genre unfortunately. Especially spy type games in general.

I have been playing through this recently and I was quite surprised when a boss shit out Yoshi and Baby Mario after being defeated.

If they're doing this all the time, there's a significant problem that needs to be addressed that does not include you giving them an iPad and expecting the "problem" to go away.

Once they're a toddler (or even a little younger really) the iPad usually is an easy way to get them to calm down and remain occupied. Which is why so many people use it as a crutch.

I don't really see a problem with a kid staying occupied with an iPad on a plane though.

40 minutes is a long time. I'm not saying it definitely was the case, but there's a good chance the baby was being ignored by its parents.

40 minutes is also a short enough time where a baby can be crying despite everything the parents are doing to calm them down.

Tbqh I find it a bit offensive that they already coded her as a lesbian before they revealed she was. If the intention was always for her to be gay, they did a terrible job masking up outdated stereotypes.

I wont understand this stance ever. Babies should be the burden of the parents. Solely. It's selfish to put that shit on everyone surrounding them. ESPECIALLY in a crowed location like a flight on a plane.

Oh no not the burden of bringing noise cancelling headphones for a flight. What a hard life it must be to have to listen to a crying baby for 40 minutes. Totally worth a meltdown that delays an entire flight.

As someone who loves mario (I can count 12 pieces of mario merchandise in my immediate view in my room) it wasn't that good. It wasn't horrible or anything, but it could have had a good meaningful story AS WELL AS loads of mario references. "Oh it's a kid's film it doesn't need to be that good". Why not? Look at Into the Spiderverse, the Toy Story films, even The Lego Movie was great in it's own right. The fact you need to be a mario fan to appreciate it is a failure of the film.

We should want better than what we got.

Yeah to me it felt like the references and visuals were really good but the characterization was really poor. There's no meat to it. People act like it's an unreasonable expectation but even the Paw Patrol movie had actual consistent character arcs to it lol.

If "good guy and bad guy" is a morality tale then basically every story is a morality tale. A morality tale illustrates a moral through its story. Eg Hansel and Gretel illustrates the moral of caution around strangers. The kids first meet the witch at which point following her seems consequentially insignificant or even positive as she promises treats, but then they learn that such offers from people they don't know may come with ulterior motives.

When a story at its outset labels one party as good and the other as bad and then they fight (such as the opening crawl of every Star Wars movie), then the story is not illustrating a moral. Like, Star Wars is just not about why the Empire is bad or why the Jedi are good. We already know blowing up Alderaan is bad and that stopping that behavior is good.

I think you're just overthinking and being pedantic about what people are saying. We're not meaning a "story that teaches you a moral" we're meaning "this is a story about two opposing sides of simplistic good and evil moralities" in a topic asking why the Empire is evil.

Because it's a morality story about good and evil. Not every piece of fiction needs to represent the complex moral ambiguity of social organizations populated by individuals with their own unique values, motivations, and vehaviors.

Sometimes fiction can just have a Council of Evil that does evil stuff.

Now there was media released later that fleshes things out but talking about the original intention (which was when this universe was created) it's overall very morally simple. It's about a group of heroes that step up against evil. Which is why we aren't supposed to think about how many people died on the Death Star. It's why the bad guys literally look and talk like bad guys.

The dumb thing is if it was actually about 'regular people should be able to be verified too!' then adding a verification process for people who subscribed to Twitter Blue for a period of time or something could have done that and actually marketed itself to expanding the checkmark to more regular people while also getting paid.

But that would have required work and keeping employees on the payroll.

Zelda, Pokemon, Kid Icarus, Kirby, Splatoon, Animal Crossing. Those I can see making money, What I don't see doing well are Star Fox, F-Zero, Metroid, Pikmin, Donkey Kong and Wario. Detective Pikachu sucked but that was because it was live action and made the stupid mistake of having a pokemon actually speaking sentences.

Donkey Kong and Wario would be more popular than Kirby, Kid Icarus and Splatoon tbh.

Wario and Illumination is an especially good match.

The reason half of critics gave it a bad review is because half of critics don't care about Mario. If you don't care about Mario it's a nothing movie.

Technically yes but it's much of a muchness. Especially when PS5 is generally the lead platform most of the time anyway.

Multiplats can end up better for either one but unless you look at Digital Foundry you probably wouldn't know what the difference is. It's really minor.

He definitely used to be different. I don't know if he became a worse person or just became worse at hiding what a bad person he is... probably a combination of both, but more the second one.

I think he probably did and still does want to save the planet, though it seems to be less about actually caring about everyone else and more about a savior complex where he has convinced himself that he is this brilliant visionary who will save all of humanity. Again, I would guess he's always been kind of like this but financial success has made him worse.

As to why he changed, it was likely a combination of him getting arrogant off of his own success, and surrounding himself with yes men who tell him all his worst ideas are genius.

There's an article from over a decade ago from his ex-wife that makes it obvious he has always been like it.

I think it's more that we used to assume wealthy and successful people were highly intelligent until social media gave them a lot more chances to prove that assumption wrong.

My stupid tired brain misinterpreting it. They don't make money directly from rentals but wanted games that would be rented repeatedly as they could earn a lot of sales from purchases for rental stores.

I don't remember rental stores really having multiple copies of the same game.

I think it was more they didn't want you to be done with the game after a rental and hope you would instead buy it to get the most out of it.

Flying is complicated/stressful enough if I didn't have my child with me.

I flew with my 3 year old daughter and 8 month old daughter a few weeks ago and it was completely fine. If you can't deal with it nobody is forcing you.

It most certainly does not have to be no. My toddler loves travelling and going places. Having a stable routine does not mean you can't do anything varied within that routine.

If he was just an actor he'd have obviously been faultless but he was the film producer and took a bunch of shortcuts regarding safety on the set.

Was set safety one of his responsibilities as a producer on this movie?

I'm not really convinced that a lot of these actors actually do much at all as a producer and it's mostly a way for them to get more residuals.
