It's an RPG not too dissimilar from MMOs in mechanics (managing cooldowns and whatnot).

The story hasn't quite yet "taken off" for me, but I think I'm only like 30% or so through. The game is apparently over 100 hours.

Okay, all three episodes finished.

So what I said before still holds: I really like the idea of keeping the fanservice very low key and just giving us a Star Wars space that's it's own environment without feeling so tied to Jedi, Skywalkers, etc.

The quality in general (acting, writing, pacing, cinematography) seems a step up from what we've been seeing in Obi-Wan and BoBF. Tighter.

The interspersed scenes of Cassian's childhood were pretty good. I wonder if that's all we'll get of that. I also appreciate that they didn't subtitle the local dialogue, basically requiring us to use context to determine what's going on.

I do have some criticisms. One is that I feel even though this was basically meant to be a three-episode kickoff to "the plot", I don't think it's all that much of a hook. It's "Andor's off Ferrix and on Rebel adventures from here out" but it's pretty vague what he'll be up to at this point, y'know? I'm sure once we get into it it'll be fine.

Another is maybe it was just me not paying attention, but I'm not completely clear on Bix and Timm's relationship. I thought it was set initially as Timm pining after Bix but there not actually being a proper physical relationship there, but then in the next episode a casual smooch and then the night together and I'm wondering if this is their relationship progressing or if they've been at this for a while? Not that it matters too much since Timm's dead and all.

Also I hope Luthen gets a chance to open up as a character and not just be an Obi-Wan who guides Cassian around but ultimately doesn't do much growth, but that's just a worry, not so much a critique. I mean you pay for Stellan Skarsgard, you should get your money's worth.

I'm pretty sure Cassian's packing Kyle Katarn's Bryar Pistol but I need a closer look at it.

I'm also quite interested in where Syril Karn is going. He's an absolute mess and I want to see him either do something to grow or just fail spectacularly. Either is fine.

I could be wrong but I seem to recall that if someone's blocking you, you can't tag them in a message. Am I wrong on that?

It's a game mode entirely for funsies. Extreme Mode has balls you can bounce back and forth, electric pylons that drop down and zap you, bulls that charge through the stage, etc.

Might be referring to Extreme Mode in SF6. One of the wacky options is a ball bouncing back and forth causing damage.

Laying in bed at night thinking about how the world in its somewhat ring shape could be a giant Flame Clock or something and we're all just traveling in a circle around it.
