Strangely I've found images that save as webp in Firefox, will let me save them as jpg/png in Chrome/Chromium

My elegant solution has been Right Click Copy Image, paste into Paint, save as PNG/JPG.

Windows key + shift + S (I think)
hotkey combo for the snipping tool and puts you straight into select mode
drag the box around it
you now have a Ctrl-Vable image. Or you can check the windows notification and click and and then save that somewhere

There's a save as PNG extension I have on Chrome

idk if there's a save as JPG extension or not

There's settings (or extensions) for pretty much every browser to stop requesting webp, but then a few sites (hey there, youtube) will have no images at all.
